I know abit of hidden islands around the FF7 world and one of them is the island of cactuar, another one is this island covered in forest and mountains that has a special item.

I've always wondered as to the natural of the many, many number of superfluous islands that Squenix likes to place in their RPG world maps. FF8 was probably the worst perpetrator. Around about thirty or so seperate islands with nothing of worth. You could say it's for geographical accuracy, but we're talking about "World Maps" that span a world that technically would be smaller than our own moon and, due to the way the map loops, are physically impossible to exsist.

The Cactuars in FFVII suck. They don't even hold up to the Cactuar Standard of Quality, which most FF Cactuars have. (That is, be relatively hard to hit with normal attacks and give alot of AP.)
Magic Pots, on the other hand...:cat:

I agree Cactuars only give 1 EXP and 1 AP... and 10,000 gil. That's not too bad considering other enemies in the vicinity are offering 140~256 gil. Cactuers are slightly more balanced. They give 1,000 EXP, 100 AP and 1,000 gil.
And about them not being hard to hit. Both Cactuars and Cactuers have a 7/8 chance of having 255 Def%. That's pretty hard to hit.

I never bothered with the Cactuars in FFVII. If I needed exp or AP, I just went to the Crashed Gelnika for that.

Why are you posting random images in your posts, make a signature instead~
Anyway, Mideel is more effective than the sunken gelnika. Much easier enemies, and close to the same amount of EXP and AP. Ofcourse, nothing beats the Northern Cave.

Hmm, I must be thinking of the wrong Cactuars then. Perhaps I can use them if I ever think of not using W-Item...okay, that'll never happen, but it's nice to know.
They're on a lone, desert island in VII, aren't they? Or is it the ones in the Corel desert? I always forget. :cat:

Well, it's about time these mystery islands got revealed.
Ok, Im a bit confused. Are Cactuers are the ones that give an average amount of everything and are found on the island right? And Cactuars have 10,000 gil and are found...where?
