Edea's Powers?

I'm kind of confused here and I think you guys can help me.
I already looked at the gamescript and I couldn't find what I was looking for.

From my memory Edea sais she found a dieing sorceror of which she received her powers from.
In the end we see a dieing Ultimecia give her powers to Edea.

But some peopl say that Edea already had power when that happened? from another unknown sorceres? where exactly is that said.

I always saw it as Ultimecia being the dieing sorceres from which Edea became a sorceres herself.

She says it in the ending, right before Ultimecia gives Edea her powers:

Edea: "It's ok. There's no need to fight. That sorceress is just looking
for someone to pass her power on to. In order to die in peace, a
sorceress must free of all her powers. I know...for I am one, too."

In other words, she is already a sorceress before Ultimecia gives away her powers.

Edea was a sorceres since five. I remember it has been mentioned, either Cid or her said this. but I don't really remember that much.
