View Full Version : Who actually finished this game?

This game, despite what many may say, is an enjoyable game. But for the weak, this game was too much, and their determination failed them. I wonder who actually had the patience and determination to finish this game, ALONE. It is possible, 'cause I did.

I do admit, though, that when playing alone, it is a chore trying to level up every single character, since you can have up to eight different characters, regardless of whether you're actively playing with them.
but one can say that it pays off.

I'm at the end, but I have yet to finish it. Yes, it is an enjoyable game, but it's kinda hard when playing by yourself though

I finished it alone. The last boss was fun, using your memories as ultra-powerful spells. The ending song was absolutely beautiful. Starry Moonlit Night. But I can't remember if it was in Japanese or English. Is there an English version of that song?

The ending song is in Japanese, and as far as I know, there isn't an English version of the song. and the song in the beginning is in English. don't know why they would put both English and Japanese songs in the game, but I liked it

to finish the game you must go to leuda (did i get the name right?) which is the selkie village across the sea. go to the linari desert, and follow gurdy's verses to reveal the hidden element. that is all you need. now just go past the jegon river, go past the place with the pyramid, and cross the forest with the hidden element. then go to the place called Mount Vellenge. and don't worry, the hidden element can cross any forest, no matter what element it asks for. no specific year is required, but you should be leveled up for an easier time. and the cure ring helps a lot here.

Yes, I finished the game alone before ever using multi-player. And yes, I enjoyed it to bits. :D

Not me. Got bored with it in single player.

It took a long while to finish the game in single player, but yeah, I finished it. It was pretty fun.

How much can you buy a use copy of this game for these days? I might just pick it up and have my friend help me play it at my apartment this winter . . .

To finalfantasyguy4ever:

You probably missed using Gravity on the crumbled inn. You must do this after using Thunder on the cactus. Then continue with the fire on the mushroom and the blizzard on the three stones (I think you have to hit them from smallest to largest) and finally use holy on the strange flower, found on the left side of the stage. And all these events are in the beginning scene. If the screen turns black, then you know you have to go back.

I almost finished this game ( played solo) but decided it wasn't worth replaying again when my little brother erased it on th ememory card.

Oh yah i thought it was bull crpa that you had to have a gba and final fantast crystal chronicels. Well I had a gba and that wasn't enought then you had to spen 10 more bucks just to link it up to the GC. So in the end this was a very expensive game to play multiplayer.

what is the flower i see a cage of bones

Elemental Alchemist

cage of bones...? I think you mean the crumbled inn. Other than that, don't bother with any bones.

as for the flower...go to the left side of the screen, until you hit the wall. continue up and down that side until you see the flower. I'm sure you won't miss it, 'cause it strange and exotic. use holy on it. it's actually on the wall. not in the sand a little bit away from the wall.

now watch as the flower becomes the pedestal where you put the myrrh container and change it's element.

I almost did, but no matter what we did we couldn't kill that final boss... Maybe I'll bother to train my guys when I can be assed and do it.. But i've lost the motivation.

I finished the game... but not alone. See I have siblings, one brother and a sister, and we tend to enjoy playing games like this. The only down side is I'm generally relegated to mage/hold bosses attention. I personally have never dealt the deathblow as I normally die reviving the person who deals the deathblow.

Haha. That TOTALLY reminds me of back in the day when I played Secret of Mana with my brother. I'd totally be the Sprite or boy and stick him as the girl (so I could kick ass with the spells and he'd do all the healing and all that and die when things got tough)

Whenever me and my friends played, I too was always the healer.

That way, you can shout at everyone and tell them what to do, because you have have the most important job...

(seriously though, I always say no whenever they wanna play this game, it always degrades into arguments)

After reading this thread, I picked it up and had another go in single-player. Am three dungeons away from fighting Raem.

I won the game single player. I didn't play multiplayer until after that actually (only had one link cable until I finally went out and bought some more afterwards). I didn't find single player that hard though actually. I had a harder time with multiplayer (I'd play with people, they'd get set on fire and run off with the chalice or something dumb like that and leave me to die in the miasma X_X). Now that I think about it though, I generally was relegated to healer/distraction too. Being the distraction is no fun (I got pretty good at dodging though, so I...gained a skill?).

Hard, but fun. I've only played that game on my own but I loved it! Bloody last boss... sooooo annoying!

But it's been ages so I don't remember much apart from that annoying last boss!! You only do 1 damage on it everytime you hit it no matter what!

Did you try casting cure on the memories of your family in the little bubbles and then using the magicite that appeared? I found that out entirely by accident (I actually meant to cure myself), but it makes the battle quite easier. If it was eluded to somewhere, I missed it (I've never waited for all the Carbuncles in Mag Mell to wake up so I don't know if any of them tell you about that and they are the only ones I can think of that would give you a hint, aside from Mio [which, if she did so, I did not decipher it]).

Isn't that what you're supposed to do? Maybe I'm just extremely curious... cause I saw my family floating around and according to FF law.... that would make them ghost/undead. So... reflex is to spam cure... As a matter of fact... I still owe a lot of level 70s a beatdown for not knowing that in FF11...

I was wondering, is it possible to create that spell that looks like flare that enemies do in single player? i haven't found a right combination of magic stones yet

Regrettably... as far as I know there is no flare that you can do. You have Holyra... and Firaga, but no Flare or Meteor.

And if you're working in single mode... you can just barely get FIraga.... but not Holyra as you need 2 life stones, and you r mog doesn't have that...

Me, too. Maybe I should pick it up again. I'd really like to try multiplayer, too.

Got past the first year and got bored. It was pretty easy, I found, and didn't have much variety nor depth. :(

I have been considering getting this recently, but the whole multi-player thing deters me. I certainly don't know anyone that would be willing to put in the amount of time I'm willing to. I'd def be tackling it in single player mode. I don't know I might pick it up, it's on amazon for $19.99 new and $7.50 used

Elemental Alchemist

You should get it used, since that way if you don't like it, it won't feel like a big loss of money. If you're sure you'll like it, then you might consider new.
