I think you need a thief to steal the items once they are discovered. I believe bosses would be much more likely to carry concealed items.

Could you get the name of this concealed item, I'm curious as to whether anything good can come of "Sensor" abilities.

I only know of one good item hidden, and it's in the present day mission at the palace in the storyline. a mog knight is holding a materia blade, which can teach two different ultima moves. USEFUL. VERY IMPORTANT TO GET. will probably speed up the game for ya.

I picked up an materia blade from a treasure hunt once. I nearly exploded with happiness. This was really early game as well.

yeah. you get it from this one hidden mog knight, a treasure hunt, or a random encounter with an enemy clan. that's it. For an UBER item, it's pretty hard to find.

Sensor is just their for you to get grand items- and EXP when you're bored. But if you look at the right person, like western paladin said- you can get some specky items.

I don't use it because I know my way around getting the good items you can by using sensor.

You can get:
Materia blade= Ultima Charge/Sword (Mogknights/Gladiators) - Treasure Hunt
Zeus Mace= Ultima Blow (sage)- Treasure Hunt
Zanmato= Ultima Masher (Viera)- Skill Level up... I think
SeventhHeaven= Ultima Shot (hunter)- Shara- steal it or get her in your team, Or buy it off the shop waaaaaaaay later in the game for 20000 gil (but don't worry about the price- by then, you'd have heaps of gil).

I am so done in for the zeus mace... I will eventually find it, but until then my sage/alchemist is not totally complete...

so if i find something someone has (i.e. a broadsword) i go up to the guy and use a steal weapon? will it not take his regular weapon?

Western Paladin

yeah, but the people with hidden weapons usually have the item ability, so they can re-equip weapons, so after you steal his regular weapon, he might equip the hidden one. eventally the hidden weapon will be equipped. It's more or less an ability to see if there is something hidden, and has almost no value at all.

That sucks. Oh well. I've never been a fan of thieves anyway. I'll earn my abilities, weapons, and whatever else. Stealing, though fun, is only a beginning job anyway. Leave it there.

Thief is probably the most powerful of the beginning jobs. It has the Moogles' fastest speed, and is a generally well rounded class, containing decent Attack, Defense, Magic Power, and HP. It's MP sucks, and it has one of the worst Res stats in the game, but it is still a good class with decent stat growth and some very powerful abilities.

Yea, I also like ninjas, but I always find a lack of abilities for them.

Ninja's have one good S-move. I hate their moves that do like 15 damage. Yeah just use it on story charecters that are like bosess.
