I was at the Toronto Play concert yesterday, and omg he was there in person. Then at the intermission I walked up to him before he walked out of the audience area and said "Nice to meet you" in Japanese, and he acknowledged me by chuckling and repeating what I said.

Ok, so I embarrassed myself a little, but I met Nobuo Uematsu so I dont care that I embarrassed myself a little. I am so honored I could die.

Anybody else have the honor of meeting him? I wish I could have gotten a shirt signed by him or something. I missed the Chicago Play! concert, and I wish I went to that, too.

Now, if I could meet Hironobu Sakaguchi, Tetsuya Nomura, Kazushige Nojime, Koji Kondo, and Shigeru Miyamoto, omg that would be the ultimate. Oh yeah, and Hayao Miyazaki. I wish I met Yoko Shimomura at the Detroit one. I saw her in person though.

I went to the Dear Friends: Music from Final Fantasy concert on Febuary 19th, 2005. It was amazing. Though I wasn't sitting in the VIP seats where you would be able to shake Uematsu's hand, I did obviously see him. It was one of the best nights of my life. I bought a program, poster, and two shirts with the Dear Friend's logo on it. I am wearing the white one right now! If you want to see what the grey one looks like, find me in the photo album here and one of the pictures has a decent shot of it. Glad to see that you got to go see a similar show that I did! Good job on actually talking to him. I didn't have the chance to do that at my show.

I haven't seen or met Nobuo Uematsu. I probably won't see him unless there will be a live FF concert in Finland. He visited Finland somewhere in the early 90's when he was writing the music for FFV and FFV: Dear Friends (which explains the Lappish chanting in some of the songs, some songs sound a bit like Finnish folk music and there's a song called "Waltz Suomi", which means "Waltz Finland"), but I didn't know of FFs back then, so I didn't get to see him.

WOW!! guess what!! I went to the Toronto Play concert too!! I thought the concert was awsome!! I loved it when that Japenese artist and composer( I can't remember his name) came on stage and played the piano while singing hillariously. I also was amazed by that guy from Lebinan ( wow, im bad at remebering peoples names) who played that glittery bongo looking instrument and that tiny gourd shaped instrument (does anybody notice im really awful at remebering names!!!) My Favourite compositons were: Kingdom Hearts ( im a huge fan so of course id like it most), Shenmue, the world of Warcraft, The legend of Zelda, and Mario Brothers (that one was funny). Where were you sitting? I bought the $100 seat tickets and was sitting to the right of the orchestra in the 11th row on the main floor. I tryed during intermission to buy a soundrecorded version but they were all sold out! well, atleast I was the one who bought the very last Pepsi the food stand had (yay for me!!). But it sounds SO cool that you got to meet Nobuo Uematsu, I was pulled out by my two friends right away when the show was down. >-<

I would very much like to meet him, I'd probably give him a big hug rather than embarass myself with "Nice to meet you", hehe. I doubt he'd ever come to Australia for any sort of concerts or the like... :(

I was sitting in the middle the floor level in row H. I walked up to him during intermission and caught him before he walked out of the audience.

If you're a fan of KH, you should have gone to the one in Detroit like I did. Yoko Shimomura was there! I regret not meeting her. The Japan Club at my school was planning on doing that, but then they didn't for some reason. Well, at least it was funny seeing Yoko Shimomura yawn. (Yeah, I like to see girls yawn, so when I caught her yawning it was like, "Cool!")

If you live in Australia, Arnie Roth said Play would go to Australia eventually, to the Sydney Opera House. They don't have the schedule up yet last time I checked, but they should have it by next year. Nobuo Uematsu attended the one in Sweden, so perhaps he might also go to Australia. He's never gone to Detroit for some reason! That's why I also went to the one in Toronto. Plus the Toronto one was better, anyway. In Detroit they were like, "We're gonna cut Aeris's theme, even though I know how much you love it!" and they cut other stuff, but in Toronto they just added good music.

I doubt he wants to visit our wonderful wasteland. :)

Still, that'd be pretty cool. But I'd like to see Motoi Sakuraba or Koichi Sugiyama more than Nobuo Uematsu.

I wanna see those guys, too, but not as much as Uematsu. Since I've been playing Tri-Ace games, yeah maybe Sakuraba. I'm starting to like him. But I don't play enough DQ to appreciate Sugiyama that much. he's ok, i guess. I know who he is and what his style is. I wonder why they didn't really cover them in Play!. Maybe not popular enough over here.

Actually Nobuo showed up at the Chicago one. There were more composers there than at the Toronto one. At Toronto we had to watch a video of Koji Kondo. But yeah, he must not like Detroit or something. I remember hearing about Dear Friends being in Detroit and they're like, "Uematsu didn't want to come here! HAHAHAHA!"
