I downloaded it on the Marketplace last night so I could watch it in 720p (http://features.teamxbox.com/xbox/1797/Halo-3-SixtySecond-Trailer/p1). Needless to say, it's beautiful. Too bad the actual game won't look quite that awesome. :p The most interesting things in the commercial are the shield grenade and the speed Master Chief runs. There was no mention of the grenade from Bungie thusfar, so I'm wondering if it'll be a special item available in the campaign, or is just for wow-effect in the commercial. Also, it's been rumored that the now-vacant "X" button will be used for a Sprint feature. It's pure speculation at this point, but after the plodding pace Halo is known for, a way to speed things up a bit would be fantastic. Of course, with the amount of customization they're offering in the new game (UT-esque, with modifications available to movement speed, gravity, etc.) it's not quite as big a deal.

I know from a gameplay standpoint this is entirely irrelevant, but looking at the Master Chief on the video I noticed how battle-scarred he looks. I think it would be a nice feature to start you off all shiny and new (or battle-scarred depending on where the story picks up) and have you get more beat up as the game progresses. That video is the first one I've seen where he actually looks like he's been through a battle. I also liked how he actually has holster of some sort for his sidearm (or may he uses velcro to stick it to his leg).

Yeah, the 3rd game is meant to be Earth's last stand, and he's been fighting for a considerable amount of time against an overwhelming force with no real respite. If you've seen the original Halo 3 trailer, you'll notice his armor looks considerably more battle-scarred than it ever had up to that point. And he's even more beat up in this one, although, given that it's the middle of a battlefield instead of out in a barren wasteland, that's not so surprising. I can't remember if Bungie has mentioned if the character model will actually take damage, but it would definitely be cool if they implemented that.

I've seen the trailer last night, and I mean, what can I really say? It's Halo.

Oh god, I want this so badly. I hope in this game you see Chief's face without the helmet at some point.

Ouch!

I bought an XBox figuring three games (Halo, Halo 2, and Fable) were good enough to get me going. I enjoyed all three games, but I never bought another XBox game afterwards. I can't warrent buying an XBox 360 for one game, so I won't be getting Halo 3.

Of course, that won't stop me from bumming off of one of my friends who does have the game. I'm psyched. =3

Caught it while watching Monday Night Football at my parent's house last night. I didn't think it was too interesting. Show me gameplay and then that's when I'll starting talking about Halo 3, or probably Halo 2.5, if they put the same about of effort as they did with Halo 2.
