Turn yourself mini and go through the Nepto Shrine dungeon. You fight a big rat as the boss. It's a total bastard.

Don't fight Nepto (the dragon) because you can't defeat him. Instead, cast Mini on everyone and enter the Nepto Shrine. Put everyone into the back row and turn your fighter classes to White/Red/Black Mages. Black magic is going to be your main way of dealing damage. Try to save your MP by running away from the random battles. Use magic against the Big Rat. If you can beat it, hopefully you still have enough strength to make your way out of that dungeon. :p

Just run toward the shrine, make sure everyone has magic prepared to fight a...big rat? Anyways it's pretty easy. After you beat it, get your ass outta there and goto the viking.

this game has a lot of spots where you have to run away, or can enter a battle you can't win. If it's a battle you obviously can't win such as getting hit for 4000 damage when you're level 8... you can't win it. You don't even have to change your classes, I left my monk and warrior and had them guard/use potions.

Once you level up to about level 85, is it possible to beat him then? But the guide says ????? on all his stats so maybe that's a no.

after the nepto shrine, I'd go to the north above the castle and head west into the mountains in a cave. Go in there, talk to everyone, and go to the secret room and get the items. You should have an ice, fire and light rod after that. Use those to attack with mages... ALWAYS, even white mages can use it, making them good attackers, but only mages can use them. Then go to the southwest corner to a town, buy stuff, then back to a town on the coast by the desert, then the tower up north near the little whirlpool, then do as it says.
