  1. X-Men: Movies of Future Past

Over my vacation I was able to re-watch most of the movies from the X-Men franchise. I've been a fan of the franchise since my uncle would let me read his comics. Then of course came the great animated series, which for me and maybe others my age, are the definitive X-Men.

When Days of Future Past came out, I was suddenly excited. Last year's The Wolverine turned out to be a pleasant surprise, so my hopes were high for this one. Fortunately, it didn't fail expectations; it should save ...
  2. ToraTravels: A-party-heid in Israel

My last night in Tel Aviv happened to be on Israel’s Independence day, which is on a different date every year. From what I knew before about Goa parties, LSD and MDMA, the Israelis love to party and the night of Independence Day confirmed this idea. Tel Aviv was going crazy. Similar to Memorial Days and Victory Days in Europe, the previous day is one of mourning en remembrance of the dead, and in the morning they sound the air alarms in commemoration. The next day is one of celebration. From what ...

  3. ToraTravels: Shenanigans in Sarajevo with wild dogs, nice food and a lack of purpose

After a visit to Prague and Milan, I find myself in the formerly war-torn Yugoslavia, hoping to find human drama and a good round of fresh ideas. What I found instead were dogs, Turkish food, American tourists and cheap cappuccinos. Going with a more structured format this time!

  5. [Story] Sympathiae Et Fortis

Author's Notes: Something I typed up awhile ago about what I imagined life as a gladiator would be like. Nothing to do with Final Fantasy, just a fictional one-shot.

It's loud. Everything is so loud. There is screaming and shouting above. The people of Rome go wild in the Coliseum. They clap their hands and stomp their feet, and cheer for their favorites and boo the unpopular and the cowards. It is all just a game to them. They simply observed from the stands, and at the ...

  6. Frustrated Writer Present

Yeah, yeah, I know. Frustrated writer is so original.

Technically, I write pretty regularly when it comes to my reviews, but when it comes to the fiction I used to write I've fallen back quite a bit. I was working on a novel, even made it as far as chapter nine, but then I got burnt out and never went back to it. The last time I saw something through to the end that wasn't a review was an old Harry Potter fanfic I wrote in a notebook pencil and all before I even had a computer. Somehow, ...
  7. ToraTravels: 7 Days in Tibet

After a drunk New Year's Eve in Guiyang, which ended in a fellow Eoffer's bed, my next stop is Chongqing, yet another megacity you've never heard of. I've been told that the girls are hot.

What I found instead was another smoggy, grey industrial mass with Chinese people scurrying around with huge bags on their backs. The city was built on a very hilly landscape and roads are sparse, which means the workers have to go up and down ...

  9. Woohoo! Two dollars!

So far this month I made two dollars (not counting tax) off my blog. Yeah, I know, that's not a lot of money. It's not the amount that has me excited, it's the fact that this is money I actually earned that has me happy. Never really had a job before this (not proud of it just telling the truth) so knowing that something I put work into is generating even a little money is a nice feeling. Plus, with the money I already have in the bank and the cash money I've been holding onto I have a moderately ...
