So far, so good. The expected grumbles, the expected conflicting interests, and definitely the expected slow but steady progress. Actually, that's a bit unfair - thanks to many people, this has been progressing pretty quickly. Before we went live, Marshall Banana in particular was immense for a good few months where she almost (almost! Not gonna forget the efforts of rubah/Rantz/etc) single-handedly got the styles looking like EoFF. And damn, it was a struggle. But hey, here we are. And now, with much thanks to o_O for his server-side assistance and Rantzien for his help with the styles, things are pushing forward faster than I anticipated. Can't hurt to have a large number of members bitching, though. Part of the reason I pushed for vB4 to go live, I must admit.

It's been pretty rough overall though, this whole process. What used to take days has often taken us weeks to figure out. vB4 is not what I'd call user-friendly, at least not for the most part when it comes to styling. Once you start to get your head around it (and get introduced to dev tools) then it becomes a lot easier, but the learning curve is far higher than it was for vB3.

What have we got done today? Hmm. Fixed the server time (thanks Mike, third time's a charm ), fixed the PHP limit causing pages to not load, got various blog settings adjusted, realised I'm gonna need Samuraid to sort out some kind of open source cpanel alternative sorted for easy FTP account management, learned a bit of SSH, moved around some image folders, got more images uploaded, adjusted some drop down menus, fixed a smiley box issue and table issue and finally the silly edit button being hidden on the bottom post. Credit mostly goes to Rantz here! I've not done as much as I'd have liked today, but that's mostly down to me running off to try out a new sushi place and watch Danielle spend £100 on shoes. My penny-pinching brain felt like it took a kick to the groin as I watched this happen. Oh man. I just know that if we get married, I'm gonna have to pay up for the whole damned thing. Well, except the wedding dress. I'm sure she'll save up for that one...
