Are 3 eyes really better than one? I'd bet that the strain of having a centralized, raised 3rd eye, which is standard in the industry of 3 eyed creature drawings, would create a dominant eye in the 3rd. If that is the case, then the 2 other eyes would be constantly straining, easily becoming very weak and needing corrective lenses. These effects would effectively create a teeter totter of effect upon your eye system so that it would be much better to be a cyclops or a diclops than a triclops.
Please don't even try...
If this is a mistake, then evolution might be truth.
