Very true. To both those sentences.

Honestly some of them are so small you might not even notice them, especially if you're walking around.

I wish I could win the lottery so I could study forever and travel all the time. But that would involve buying a ticket, and I'm too lazy to even do that.

That's surprising, we have earthquakes, like, every two weeks.

Definitely keen, although I will still be a poor student, or recovering from being a poor student, so you're paying :P

I originally wanted to do TEFL or TESOL but never did, I wish I had!

Architecture and history are my fave parts of travelling. That, and food.

I mean, it was a pretty intense dust storm. And it would be just my luck to get caught in a volcano eruption.

Yeah I think people go there with weird expectations. They don't realize that it's a proper city with its own flaws, and not every part is beautiful. But I really loved it and would be so keen to go back.

I'm jealous that you lived there - I've never lived outside of NZ and I would love to do that, even if only for a while. Maybe that's why I've been a bit overzealous at researching places to go to study for my PhD, even though I haven't even finished my Masters yet :P

That's basically all the places I've travelled tbh.

Thailand is excellent! I went to Chiang Mai and Phuket, and Chiang Mai has amazing medieval architecture in places and a great night market. Pompeii is amazing, but there was a dust storm while we were there so we had to clear out early.

I wasn't expecting to like Paris (a lot of my friends said it was massively overrated) but I felt very at home there. I spent 7 hours at Versailles :P

    That sounds amazing!

Oooh, that's a toughie - probably Pompeii (if you're a history nerd like me), Chiang Mai in Thailand, Paris (cliche but I loved it) and Prague.

I always splash out for a hotel when I can.

Vietnam is lovely! Definitely one of my top 5 destinations. Beautiful landscapes, great food.

Quin's Exercise Diary Week 01

by A Pint of Quinness on 10-14-2014 at 04:21 PM
So, this year I've lost 15kg (90kg to 75kg) which is nice, but I haven't been focusing on the exercises recently, so I've become weak as a kitten but still gone up to a chubby 80kg.

I'm starting this as a motivation exercise, and will update each post daily whilst adding a new one weekly.

Today's Achievements:

Knee raises - 6x6 - poor form and tiring
Half push ups - 6x6 - perfect form but tiring
Squats - 6x6 - perfect form and pretty

They took the phone. O_O

by A Pint of Quinness on 07-29-2014 at 10:13 AM
So, as I exited the taxi, I performed my usual check. Nope, nothing has been left behind. Good. I bend over to retrieve my backpack from the back seat and leave. The taxi drives away.

Seconds later, I realise my phone is not in my pocket. "Piss," think I, with some embarrassment at my own ineptitude. I don't mind too much, but I did like the number.

This morning, a friend of mine calls the phone. Turns out some people have found it and picked it up! That's

Cid's Knight Competition Round Four

I am quite drunk. Excuse my inevitable typos.

1) Loony BoB has told Psychotic to "shut the smurf up". We don't allow swearing! We also don't allow people to order other people around in such a manner. Loony BoB has been a bad boy. He needs to be punished. What do you do?
Snip the post, then bitch about how CKs can't ban Admins even when the they're blatantly breaking the rules. If I could ban him, I'd give him a short term ban to see if he cools off. Repeat
