Hmm when you download the game content via XBL it should just be available when you start the game up you'll know by these two things:

Shale: Sulcher's pass will be a yellow destination icon in the world map

Warden's Keep is a guy called Levi Dryden in camp the first time you go there speak to him and agree to help and Soldiers Peak becomes a location in the world map.

Blood Plate is simple, the first piece (the actual plate) is in the inventory of any character I believe it shows up at the start of Ostagar the other pieces are sold by the merchant in camp for like 2 - 4 sovereign each piece.

Once you leave lothering and start any of the main quests (the 3 dlc quests are fine but no main quests) the town gets destroyed by the blight so you won't be able to go back however thats something to remember for future playthroughs

something for you quickly to do in DA: O in Lothering when you get there whatever you do don't make the merchant ripping people off leave the town, it's better to take the 100 silver (and a discount) and -4 relationship with Allistair than to get rid of him. The reason being that if you steal from the guy (if you can't steal personally, go to the inn and collect leilana who will happily do it for you) he relinquishes when stolen from a special crossbow (Imprerium crossbow I think) it's made of a level 7 material (dragon wood thing, dragonhorn is it?) requires 30 strength to use, whilst you probably don't have 30 strength at this time Sten starts with 30 strength and this is a very powerful crossbow for him to have so early in the game then all you need do is use him with a tactic slot to change from crossbow - melee when he's close to the targets (so he can stand back, shoot and as the enemy closes he's not using ranged attacks up close) This makes him very useful early on

Oh don't worry even I sometimes look at the game type and ask psy wtf it is generally speaking it's easily picked up
