That was the plan
Whoa whoa, Vietnom, don't give your crap to random people, give it to me.
I will probably still play Non-Ladder when nobody else is on or I just don't feel like fussing with starting over.
Hmm, now I have to think about what I want to play on the new ladder.
Lunar, you can have anything on my old chars after the reset. I won't have any care to play them. It's either single player or ladder characters for me.
Bugger, I just realized this means permming new mules. :(
We should all play together come the new ladder, perhaps we should each pick a single character to play with each other on until hell baal, when we part ways for a bit to gather items and then start again?
If we do we shouldn't have two of the same type of characters in a party at one time.
So far, the 3 elemental types of sorceresses are taken :c)
Either a Fist of the Heavens Paladin, or a Frenzy Barb. Actually I want both. So those are also taken.
btw if I need something, you guys have to give it to me, because I help you guys out so much.
I really don't think you've helped me out as much as you think, Tav. :c) Btw, if you want that grief back, I've made my own.
I'm thinking about a double-throw barb, since I just started this week and the ladder's resetting...
lol
Now we just need to designate what times we'll be on and if there will be new ladder accounts for everyone. RebellionSoul was originally just going to be another character account, but sicne ladder is resetting I figure it'll just be my ladder account.
Does that mean the characters go forever?
Or just the items you all worked oh so hard for?
D:13204?
No, it just means that they're put off the ladder. The ladder is basically a ranking sheet for characters. Once the ladder resets, the rankings are reset as well and the characters are moved to non-ladder.
You have given me at most, 3 high runes. I have given you a Grief, Enigma, Fortitude, and starting items. The only Diablo II player with which I have a negative item balance is Maxx Power.
Characters and items on Ladder are all converted to Non-Ladder status. Nothing is lost except for the ABILITY to make/find Ladder-only runewords, such as Insight or Spirit. You only lose something if you delete yourself.
You never gave me an enigma or fort :c/ I have supplied myself with those.
I have given you at least two of the three. Ohh yeah, I definitely helped you as much as I thought. Sure, it's not as much as Nominus or Giga Guess, but definitely my count balance of high runes is positive.
You've given me the one, the grief and the starting things, but I think my wonderful 4 weeks of constant gems canceled out the 5 things you gave me when I started. And I have supplied you with more than 3 hrs, Sir. Ist, Vex, Ber, Sur, Jah (x2). :c) If you want, I can recall these occasions quite clearly.
Okay kids, play nice.
We're just having a competitive conversation. :c)
Please do, because the only time you gave me high runes was to help me finish my Last Wish Berzerker. Gems don't really count, as my output was higher than yours anyways. I've never gotten an Ist, Sur, or Vex from you for any reason. And I swear to God if you try to use the CtA thing on me, consider yourself blocked because you needed the flail, AND I had to replace the runes I borrowed, which I did.
I definitely give you one of the other two, if not both.
Ist was indeed the CTA and I'm sure you were including it in that three, the Vex you asked if I had when I was rambling on about my guitars on AIM, I answered yes and when I got on I gave it to you, I supplied you with the two jah's for your last wish, and the Sur I believe for that as well, I supplied you with a Ber since the only other high rune you had wa s a gul, which you offered me to keep for my troubles but ended up keeping for yourself. My first Enigma was a gothic plate that I traded a phoenix I had somehow obtained, my first fort I managed to procure all the runes but dol through extensive trading, dol was provided as usual by Nom, the CTA you gave me was considered good for the gems that I had saved up to that point, as said by your own post, well that and my wife and 2 kids.
I had a Sur, a Jah, and the Mal for LW. I never took back the Gul. You had a second Enigma which I made for you, and your first was a Breastplate Enigma. I can clearly remember the conversation I had with killa about it, because we were making fun of you to your face.
LOL I don't give back for gems, unless it was your children and future wife. If I did say that (find the post), then I had also assumed that it would also count for all the gems in future; there was no time limit on it.
Crap, didn't I talk about the Fortitude thing? I'm so lazy.
Fortitude did raise the kick damage on the character screen. It showed all my kick damage and claw damage go up. But when I put on three tigers, it just got lost. That's what I meant when I said kickers are "fickle," I just forgot to explain the rest of it.
I don't really know why. The best I can figure is the enormous ED of Tiger Strike counts the +20 strength from Chains of Honor as a greater damage multiplier than 300% enhanced damage. Who knows with them. Dragon Flight shows the greatest +% kick damage by far, and without charges it does the most. Yet with three Tiger Strikes on, it doesn't even reach 10k whereas Dragon Tail somehow boosts over 30. The mechanics of kickers are very confusing. ;_;
I'm going to play Median until the Ladder resets. I want to make an Assassin since they're my faviefave, but I feel sort of lost in it. How is it set up? Pretty much choose early on what you want to do and stick to it, or what? Maybe I should make a bunch of high level characters with 999 skill points before converting to the Median patch so I can see everything >;[
I made the post just above Lunar's, Tav, enjoy. :c)
Are my babies fighting with each other? :kaoclove:
Yes, and I'm enjoying it. xD
It may have been the +Skills boost. 300% of x number might be smaller than the (x+2)*something of CoH. when I mentioned testing, did you actually HIT opponents with it, and check the loss of HP?
Character modifiers do not work with Median (as far as I know). The only thing that works with Median is PlugY, and even then, many options are glitched, disabled, or completely non-functional. The only way to cheat is to function/destination/target to -act5, and go from level 33.
Anyways, Median has a bunch of ways to play. You can max out a single tech tree, or put a few skills into everything. A very popular build is the Lotus Assassin. The guides for Median may be found here, and documentation is here.
If it were really that low (the one I remember now), it has 1 BO and 1 BC. Therefore, it was equal to the gems.
But, who had the BP Enigma?
I noticed.
EDIT: Don't worry, Lunar. Cim is just being an idiot with a bad memory again.
My friend had the breast plate enigma, I provided him the gems as I said I would and told him to get his own socket armour, he chose BP and it's 700 something def. You guys ripped him for that one. The next day he told me how much he hated you two.
I did kick things, and it was the same. I turned on Players8 so they would survive and I could see the effects, and both armor seemed to do exactly the same. With 300% ED, you think she'd be doing much more... Blizzard is very strange when it comes to the Assassin. *Points to Dragon Claw's description where it says both claws set off charges when they don't* Fort does help claw damage and un-charged kick damage though, so it's still a good choice.
I meant use Zonfire to get lots of skill points before I switch the patches. Then the character will simply switch to Median but still have tons of skill points sitting there, wouldn't it? I think I did that with some other mod once. I don't know much about Median, so heck if I know if it will work.
Edit: Who made an Enigma out of a breastplate now? Those things are uglier than Chimney's mom =( Who would do such a thing?
Remember the guy that came in and played with us in hell for a bit? That was him.
My Assassin kills things in one hit with players8 on doing that much damage o_O I had to go to act-5 just to get people to live.
I didn't say use Zonfire on Median. You aren't listening to me at all >.<; But nobody ever does /eeyore.
Step 1) Keep Diablo II exactly as it is. Completely the same without any mods on at all.
Step 2) Create a new character.
Step 3) Use Zonfire to make character level 99 and give them lots of skill points. Do not alter character in any other way.
Step 4) Exit out of Diablo II and Zonfire.
Step 5) Switch patches so that Median is installed.
Step 6) Boot up new Median Diablo II and see if character kept the changes during the change.
Normal Diablo characters cannot be "switched" into Median, and visa versa.
Cim and Tav, you humour me immensely, but please take it to PMs rather than this thread.
I am not real sure if I want to make another Bone Necromancer until I have my hands on an Insight, the reason being that Bone Skills ea up so much mana per cast.
I think I'll go with th classic Meteor/Orb or Lightning/Orb Sorceress since then I'll be able to MF very effectively.
Then it won't work. I said I didn't know if it would! Sheesh it's not like I didn't cop up to the possibility of failure -.-; You people are so HOSTILE.
That wasn't meant to be aggressive or hostile Lunar.
Simply wished to save you the wasted effort/time of attempting such a thing.
What do those numbers mean Tav?
Wild guess.
The amount of fail attributed to each member
Close, but not quite. My number would be higher than yours, still, but not that much higher.
I believe those are posts for this thread
That number is equivalent to how many times you've fapped. So far, Tav's in the lead.
Having a girlfriend seems to have put a damper on the amount of times I fap. Masturbation simply isn't exciting or worthwhile anymore really.
Girlfriends are great like that.
BTW, I think Ill make a form of Auradin on the new ladder. Because lower Res would glorify the Sorcs. Though I suppose I could make a Tri-sorc to add redunancies.Or a Poison Necro... Decisions ><
Conviction doesn't work on Poison. And FoHers get Conviction anyways.
But would you choose to support us with that skill or use an aura that amplifies your skills as a FoHer?
I didn't mean you. You're my sweetheart :-*
Of course, so is Sir Taffy. He's secretly nice behind his Ciddie. *Bakes him muffins.*
I have a throw dagger assassin on Median now. Storm Crow rocks my panties out of the drawer. It is very smexy. I've also learned to just walk since running isn't much faster and seems to kill me.
PEW PEW PEW DAGGER THROW.
Im feeling I want to support you guys, but would I be more helpful with the Auradin or the Poison Necro with Lower Res curse?
Conviction lowers resistances more than the Lower Resistance curse of the Necromancer. Conviction also allows a curse other than Lower Resistance to be cast - such as Decrepify, Dim Vision, Confuse, or Attract. Conviction is also automatic, whereas Lower Resistance must be repeatedly cast.
However, Conviction does not lower Poison resistances, which Lower Resist does.
So, basically, the way I see it is as follows:
If traveling with a Poisonmancer, he will have access to Lower Resist as a necessity. Many Summoners also have access to Lower Resist for the sake of party play. Although your aura will do nothing for the Poisonmancer, it will be sex for Sorceresses, and incredibly helpful to both an Enchantress and Summoner. Combined with a Necromancer's Lower Resist, the amount of damage Sorceresses will be able to deal will be astronomical. Thus, it is likely that the Necromancer will be casting Lower Resists more often than any other curse anyways, and so bearing a Conviction aura is best - for everyone.
Lvl 20 Conviction Aura:
Radius = 13.3 yards
Defense -% = 90
Maximum Resist -% = 125
Lvl 20 Lower Resist Curse:
Mana Cost = 22
Radius (yards) = 17.3
Duration (seconds) = 58
Resist All -% = 62
Also note that you cannot lower an enemy's resistances past -150%.
When breaking an immunity, both Conviction and Lower Resist operate at 1/5 effectiveness.
I am leaving for the weekend, and don't wish to bore myself with giving items away when there is fresh territory to be had; so, in light of that fact, I would appreciate if anyone who wants my items PM me as to when/where they would like to meet me.
So, in other words, I am giving my items out today and tomorrow. After that, they're being thrown to the masses.
Also, when a new ladder season starts, do I have to begin a new account, or can I simply delete all my characters and create new ones flagged for the new ladder?
I went to answer the door, and Tav ran away...
Stupid mail man...
xD
Okay, now.
Well, I am almost 1/3 lighter now
Yeah, I got realmdowned.
[strike]I also need a transfer, I'm going to empty and remake characters, is anyone available? I really won't need to for the next hour or so. Hopefully somemone is still on.[/strike]
My Ladder Accounts:
RebellionSoul
DragonCry
Tav, come the 25, I suggest that you resend the character sign up sheet. Unless you're too busy doing other things. I have a copy of the sign up sheet and have nothing better to do.
Some useful commands I recently discovered:
/away [message] - This command will send an automatic message to anyone that sends you a message displaying the text you specified when activating it. The difference between this and /dnd is that you still receive messages with /away, but do not receive messages with /dnd.
/dnd [reason] - This command prevents all whispers from being displayed on your screen. This is excellent if you are in a game and do not want to be disturbed. To turn it off simply type /dnd.
/msg %F(n) - Where n, without the brackets, is the number of a person on your f list. The idea is that you can chat to a specific member of your f list without letting everyone in on the conversation nor having to use their account name. Useful for when being sneaky or simply don't want to confuse others with half-bits of a conversation.
/squelch [character name] (alias: /ignore) - Ignore messages from this player.
/unsquelch [character name] (alias: /unignore) - Turns off squelch for this player.
In Game Commands - These will work only when your character is in a game.
/nopickup - For use in game. This command stops you from picking up items unless the Alt button is held down. Especially useful when dueling.
/framerate - in the basic sense, a beefed-up version of /fps.
Chat Protection /Options (alias: /o)
There are three separate flags which a user can set to customize which incoming chat messages are ignored.
Whispers - When on, private messages from people who are not in your friends list will be ignored.
/options ignorewhispers (alias: /o igw) - This command will ignore whispers from anyone who isn't in your friends list.
/options unignorewhispers (alias: /o unigw) - This command will allow whispers from anyone who isn't in your friends list.
/friends promote [accountname] (alias: /f p) - Promotes the account name in your friends list. If no position is supplied (or is zero) then the friend will be promoted up one place in the list. If the position is supplied then the friend will be moved to that position from the top of the list with number one being the highest position.
/friends demote [accountname] (alias: /f d) - Demotes the account name in your friends list. If no position is supplied (or is zero) then the friend will be demoted one place in the list. If the position is supplied then the friend will be moved to that position from the bottom of the list with number one being the lowest position.
/friends remove [accountname] (alias: /f r) - Removes the specified account name from your friends list. You will receive an error message if the account isn't in the list.
Target Line Codes
You can enable these by right clicking on the Diablo II shortcut on your desktop and choosing Properties. In the target box after the last quotation, press the space bar once and type in the command lines below for the desired effect.
-w - Enables you to play in window mode.
-skiptobnet - Bypasses the introduction screens by starting the game at the Battle.net login screen.
-ns - No sound driver is loaded.
-nosave - Never saves the game.
OMG LADDER RESET!!!!!
AT LONG $%^&ING LAST!
(well, on Monday at least)
I had been getting a little bored with D2 and playing some other games. I may start playing again. Awesomeness.
Wow~ Who shall get post number 2k~
no one knuuus~
edit: Note to self. Count Posts before making a post based on post related posting.
._.
I'll send out mass PMs to all interested parties.
This may very well be the only time in which EoFF members will actually be able to play with each other.
Mulley got it a while back. You're 61 posts behind.
When do we start :3?
I believe that is up for discussion.
Well, the ladder resets on Monday. Battle.net will be down for about four hours, we may need to download a patch, and then we can play again. If we are going to play on battle.net, we will all need to make new characters. That should be fun, maybe we can all try something out we've never done before.
I think I might try out a Concentrator Barb, depending on if there's a patch and what the patch might or might not do to skills and what not.
If there's no new patch, I will not play.
If we're all really going to hunker down and play together, I'm making the kick assassin I planned but never got around to in time. The stupid MF sorc can wait since I don't really enjoy the sorceress that much anyway.
Nom, if you have any other items, don't give them out to the public (not the good ones, anyways). Otherwise, make sure everyone gets a shot at obtaining them.
I got to chop down a large apple tree with a really large axe. :D It hurts to bend/unbend my arms because the muscles are so tense. The person I helped cut the tree down for gave me 4 800mg of Ibuprofen. I have only taken two. They haven't started working yet, but even if they don't, I have two more.
You alright Cimiminimy?
Yus, it was great fun! :D Eventually we all (4 of us) had to take turns swinging because we were getting so worn out. xD
It ought to be interesting to see how people fare when creating builds that don't rely on end-game items, as has been the norm for quite some time now. For once, it now depends on skill distribution and play-style.
I believe I have decided on creating a Blizzard Sorceress as my first character, as I hear these are best for beginning MF runs. Additionally, I have never played a caster-type Sorceress before, so it ought to be interesting.
When the the 25th arrives, I'll send you a PM, Tav, containing all it is you need to know.
poor poor Trappassin.
I may try an ice Sorc...I don't see a lot of Ice Immunes...not as many as Fire, that is.
I'm already tired of the Median mod and I didn't even make it to Act IV. T_T
It's just playing the game alone and actually having to do Act III. After a while, I just get bored. Not to mention Stamina runs out within three steps in this game. I know they walk much faster than they used to, but they all still move slow as hell and I really need to find some goddamn +% to walk/run SOMETHING. It drives me nuts. Plus, if you get frozen, it takes 10 years to move across the screen. My patience does not hold out for that at all XD;
I have to be an Amazon just because she gets a passive ability that let's her move faster than slow as hell. Well, that or a Necro because his summons kill everything faster on Players8 than the character in regular LoD do on players1. And he let's me be lazy 'coz they do most of the work.
I need somebody else to play with, or I just don't think I can care :(
I really only die in the Uberlevels.
Also, just because you have to play Act III means very little. Download a Mpahack (Sting's), and things go much faster.
smurf Maphack, I want a character editor so I can give myself a charm that has +100% faster run/walk on it.
And running does kill you, but I'd rather move faster and take the chance. I'm spoiled by my pretty boots on Realm and skills like Burst of Speed. I am a spoiled princess godsmurfingdamnit, and I demand it remain that way.
I'll play with you Mika =O
~
Yewww~
I will do the dishes while I wait~
Median was too mean to us and we couldn't play together ;_; Could this be...an omen?! Are Mika and I not meant to marry as I had planned to kidnap and force him to do?
What a cruel world.
Im going to make a necro. Though the good computer is still offline I can revamp this one a little depending on when you guys want to start. For the record, it actually looks like we have more than 8 that want to play, so we will have to split into two different games.
My Virus guarding thing was probably the problem...
Whoaaa.. so many pages since I stopped playing...Anyways I think I might start playing again. Maybe as a Paladin again, who knows?
There's more than 8 of us? Oh noes ;O! I have finally decided on a Phoenix Assassin, so if we're going to have a Conviction Paladin or Lower Resist Necro, then I want to be in the game with them
A Conviction Pally, A lower Res Necro, a Phoenixsassin...we may have an interesting crew this round...
Lol yup might be a Conviction Pally :D
Going to REinstall D2LoD right now.
EDIT: Bah have to find my LoD disk.
Well, I'm gonna try a new breed of Sorc next time around...maybe a Vengeance Pally...dunno how it'd work.
Throw a new conentrator barb in that mix. :D Max Shout and BO, always a plus.
wow, I can't believe I missed this thread for so long.
...
Too bad I already have a reset group to play with.
account name is Loben if anyone wants anything.
HOW DO YOU MISS THIS THREAD? IT HAS NEW POSTS EVERYDAY!! I HAD ALWAYS SEEN IT BEFORE I EVEN STARTED PLAYING DIABLO II AFTER REGISTERING HERE!!!
Chimney is so hot (under the collar).
That green hurts my eyes. Jesus Christ, man.
Well, at least Blizzard has reach the Reset date. It'll take about four hours, I hear, from when it starts.
So it's kinda like a really shiny server wipe?
No, since NL and Ladder use the same servers, the characters are not deleted, and everyone who hasn't already been banned are allowed to come back and create new characters, no, this isn't a server wipe. It's a reset.
I wish they would put up the reset schedule...
Where is my damn reset?
No kidding...
I just logged on to see if the reset had happened, but no such luck. I sifted through some channels to amusing results. Channel 44 says it will happen in 10 hours. Channel 12 says it will happen in 20 minutes. The channel I'm normally in, 9, says it won't happen at all, which made many folks go "OMFG WUT WUT?!"
So, as you can see, B.netters are being their typical selves. I guess all we can do is sit around and wait :jess:
Stupid noncommittal Blizzard
I've been checking out the "official" announcement page, but nothing's been posted yet.
Battle.net Status
I'll be online when I can. I plan on making a bunch of Ladder-only runewords and using them.
Oh, there's something I wanted to ask, and it has nothing to do with the Ladder so it will seem out of nowhere now, but whatever.
What gloves do you guys use on physical attackers when you don't have a pair with a set or anything? Amazons generally have rare gloves that are good for them, but I can't ever think of what to put on something like a Fury Druid or Martial Sin. The Magnus gloves? :O_O:
Magnus, Lavagout, anything with IAS. Sometimes IK Gloves with boots or belt for the synergy bonus (IAS).
Crafted Hit Power gloves for Amazons are by far the best, seeing as the following mods can be had on such gloves:
Knockback
20 IAS
+15 Dex and/Strength
LL and ML
+Life
+% AR
25% MF
Res
+2 Passive/B&C
For any of the melee characters, listen to Tavrobel. For such characters, IAS is king, followed by secondary modifiers such as ML, LL, Res, life, etc...
Some other useful gloves include:
Dracul's Grasp
The real beauty behind these gloves is that it has a relatively large chance to cast Life Tap (which grants the attacker 50% of the damage done to the opponent as life. This curse will also make ANY monster in the game leech-able - even Undead and the like). For Zealers, Smiters, Fury Druids, etc... these gloves are a godsend (if they can afford missing 20IAS).
The chance of Open Wounds is also nice, along with the +15 Strength and +10 Life per kill.
Expensive as smurf though.
Laying of Hands
Boasting a large Fire Res and a 20%IAS modifier is one thing, but the fact that these gloves grant 350% damage to Demons is what truly makes these gloves powerful. Combined with Chains of Honour, one would be doing 550% damage to Demons. All the Bosses in the game are Demons. Yes, these gloves are sex.
These gloves are really not that difficult to simply find, much less trade for.
Clegclaw's Pincers
The reason I mention these is because they house Knockback and Slows Target by 25%. Although other glove most definitely outshine this pair, these are cheap and have a very low level requirement - all for the price of two very lovely mods.
Trang-Oul's Claws
If using an Assassin that use Venom, use these to pre-buff your Venom skill by 25%. All the other mods are basically crap for melee-type characters.
Bloodfist Heavy Gloves
10% IAS and 30% FHR and +40 Life are rather nice to see on gloves that only have a Lvl requirement of 9.
But truly, the best gloves are the incredibly sexy Rare and Crafted gloves. There is a reason we call them godly items.
Goddamn! Those crafted gloves are lookin' sexy. I really should craft more.
I agree that the IK Boots, Gloves, and Belt together form a wonderful trio of natural and green bonuses, but 110 STR is too much for me lately. Well, not with some builds, but with others. Martial Sins especially I just wouldn't want to get that much. More than that, there are just other boots and belts I want. I mean 110 isn't that much if you charm yourself, especially wearing two Bartuc's to give +40 str you would have it anyway, but...other belts ;-; There's something about t hose three together that is still hella sexy, though. That's normally what I do end up using...
I gotta tell ya, I don't like Dracul's Grasp for some reason. I really just...don't. I know I should be in love with it for the Life Tap, but for some reason it doesn't float my boat very much.
I forgot all about Laying of Hands...Mm those would be nice for a lot of areas in the game, especially Act IV...
War Heads ftw.
I didn't want to do anything today but Diablo dammit... I planned a day of nothing for you! Shades...
Where is my reset?
:(
Dracul's is an acquired taste. It's one of the most pro items, and goes by a very high HR price on the soon to be late Ladder. When used in dueling, even more so, but there are so many other simpler mods that give a direct bonus without micromanagement. To balance out the lack of IAS on Dracul's, Smiters (especially Smiters) make up for it by using any combination or all of the following Auras: Defiance (defense), Fanatcism (IAS, damage), and Concentration (damage), as well as boasting the ever so awesome Holy Shield (damage and defense) ability.
As far as Trang Oul's Gloves go, they are definitely useful toward Rabies Druids, as well as Spellcasters who can't find/use Magefists. Depending on the item used, Strength to meet IK requirements is hardly ever a problem, unless you used a Phase Blade, where, in which case, your Dexterity must be 116 or higher, assuming you even have a Ravenfrost. I agree that it is implausible for most characters, but possible. Spellcasters, however, don't have the Vit to spare, and rely on Enigma.
I wonder what character can achieve the highest poison damage (both per second and total damage)?
Amazon, Druid, or Necromancer?
It's a frown, you big oaf
Woo-hoo, Reset Status!

MAJOR ASS ANNOUNCEMENT WORTHY OF DOUBLE POST IT HAS BEGUN LADDER IS SHUTTING DOWN TO UPDATE I FORGOT TO GET PROOF BUT LINES TO FORMS GAMES HAS STARTED LOL IT IS TIME
10 bucks says somebody is 99 within a few days.
10 bucks says I won't get a char to 99 again.
This last time I got to 89, which beat my previous record of 87. I will never even reach 90.
I will never have enough patience to get anywhere near 99. :cat:
87's all I have had the patience for, and that was pushing it for me.
90 was as far as I ever got, and that only happened because I was feeling down and needed something to zone out on. AKA doing something, but actually nothing ever comes of it.
I usually end up at level 89
Those screenshots make me laugh because B.net is so funny.
BAAL BAAL BAAL BAAL.
That one person said they are fixing this grush foolishness. I hope that's true, because grushing is ridiculous. I mean, sure, I skip normal because it's boring and pointless, but I actually play through Nightmare and Hell and I think everybody else would enjoy the game more if they did the same. Hell would be fun if everybody calmed down and played through it as a team :/ Besides EoFF folk, I can't ever find anybody to actually play the game with anymore >.<
I'm going to get to 91 now just to beat Vietnom and be the king of our little group.
Tavrobel has hit 92 with one of his Barbarians, I believe
EDIT: It seems Tav has hit 98.
I've been level 98, before, so don't brag. The highest person in our group currently, would still be me, as my Druid was only one Baal run away from 90, with my Barbarian only 23 runs away. This was before they reduced EXP to a bare minimum of what it used to be, but a win is a win.
Also, the reason why people glitch rush through Hell is because of the massively increased difficulty beginning with 1.09 patch. Before then, even not-so-great builds could get through Hell with a little effort. However, with the introduction of Synergies (which was a fix for OMG we only have to max one skill to live), they introduced Ladder, and increased Hell difficulty, so that only plausible builds could be used, thus reducing the number of builds dramatically, leading to rigged characters that follow one set pattern, and may never deviate slightly or else risk losing tons of damage or survivability.
And Khaotic was 93-96 "back in the day".
Tsukasa I believe had either a 97 or a 98, as well.
I would venture to say that Maxx Power would have also have had a very high character on Europe, and BtV claims he also had a > 90 Barbarian on West.
Khaotic seemed to pop level 80-something characters out daily. It was weird.
Khaotic glitch rushed, probably, and Chaosed to 60, and Baaled to 80. Not very difficult with Ondal's (Wisdom?) unique staff (+EXP) or an Annihulus (+EXP).

98 is quite impressive :jess: I could neeever get that high. Ugh, no way.
But they increased Hell so that it would be a challenge. I think it was too easy before (once they got rid of that stupid universal 50% physical resistance anyway). It's like, oh noes, they made it kinda hard so now we have to grush through it. Yeah, the balance of the game is off, but it's possible to play through hell with something other than the overpowered builds because I've done it and you've done and we've all done it.
Hell is supposed to be so hard that everybody has to come together. It's like, it doesn't matter that your lightning sorceress does 40k damage per shot, because against Lit immunes you need somebody else. Then that Bone Necromancer is suddenly looking pretty good.
But because people can go straight to Baal, it ruins the harmony of it all. There's no need to make anything other than a few builds because nobody has to actually play the game. So who needs more than a Hammerdin and Lit Sorc? Which is strange, 'coz they make those to MF, but then never even play the game when they get items for other characters anyway, so it was all one big circle of doing Baal runs for no fun in return. Unless endless Baal runs is their idea of fun, I guess.
I doubt I'd want to play with most of the public anyway, and people like Chimney always wait and actually play through them with me... I suppose I shouldn't really care so much *shrug*.
I've walked through Hell naked before. That was a challenge, but well worth it in the end.
I guess people aren't interested in actually playing a game so very old as Diablo... Which seems silly to me.
Half the fun of playing this game is finding items for future characters and builds. And then leading these fledgling characters through Hell and back simply completes the cycle.
I agree, playing only over-powered builds seems silly to me. There is so much variety in Diablo, but it seems only a few builds are ever made and even fewer actually played.
I suppose people have this idea that unless you're doing 17k damage per hammer, or 45k damage per lighting bolt, you're not successful in your build. Which I think is lame.
There are very few existing builds that can effectively damage every monster in the game based on character equipment, mercenaries, and self-sufficiency. In order of killability:
Lightning Sorceress (Infinity), 60k at best
Lightning Trapsin (Infinity), 20k at best
Fist of the Heavens Paladin (Conviction, Holy Bolt damage from FoH), can kill everything
Lightning Javazon (Infinity), 10k at best
Frenzy Barbarian (very difficult against Physical Immunes, Berserk synergy), anywhere from 24k-30k when properly built
Wind Druid (Hurricane is Cold, Tornado is Physical), 7k at best
Runners Up (can damage most, but not all, still viable):
Hammers Paladin (cannot damage Magic Immune Animal enemies)
Bone Necromancer (cannot damage Magic Immune)
Smite Paladin (fastest killer of Ubers, but rather impaired against Physical Immunes, stunlock)
Morphing Druids (any of the builds, either uber IAS or stunlock, weak to Physical Immunes or Poison Immunes)
Fire Sorceress/Druids (cannot damage Fire Immune)
Cold Sorceress (cannot damage Cold Immune)
Summoner Druids and Necromancers (relies on massing)
Whirlwind Barbarian (severely gimped)
Poison Necromancer (cannot damage Poison Immunes)
The ones that are crossed out can only effectively kill in Hell when twinked. Infinity, if legit, is fair use.
Compare that to pre 1.09, and I'm not even going to mention Dueling:
Corpse Explosion Necromancer
Whirlwind Barbarian
All other possible builds viable
EDIT: Consider "untwinked" to be carrying less than five High Runes worth of items. If Shako is 1, Enigma is 2, and Infinity 4, that's more than 5 for almost every build. Compared to a Barbarian, which only has to wear 3 High Runes (IK), and a Trap Assassin which can kill every enemy in the game using 4; it can still damage most without, and is very easy to play.
But I like it that way. It makes everybody in the party useful :(
Tav, Trapsins can reach the 65k mark in damage output.
And I've seen some Javazons with attacks than can reach the 45k mark
You're also forgetting the Dreamer Sorceress, which can hit the 70k damage mark
But I'm being nit-picky, so meh... ignore all that.
I wish they would fix the Hellfire Torch, I really would like being able to use Strafe without locking up the game
What is a Dreamer Sorc anyway, I don't even know :grover:
A Dreamer Sorceress is, essentially, an Enchantress Sorceress that pours points in to Lightning Mastery. When wearing two Dream runewords (Helm and Shield), this gives the Sorceress a Lvl 30 Holy Shock Aura. Seeing as Holy Auras grant an elemental boost to melee damage, the Sorceress' damage is increased by a very large amount.
Coupled with her natural boost to Lightning based attacks (up to around +560% damage or so), the Lvl 30 Holy Shock Aura is multiplied by a VERY large amount.
To make this type of Sorceress even more deadly is that many equip her with a Passion runeword, which grants her a large boost to AR, but most importantly, access to the Paladin Skill Zeal.
However, it's a gamble with every attack. Her damage output is anywhere from 1200 - 70000.
And the only thing protecting her fragile frame is Energy Shield, which is nerfed to hell.
There is a Dreamer version for the Paladin, but I don't think they fare as well as the Dreamer Sorceresses do.
However, it is great, stupid fun to simply walk around Hell mode and watch as enemies fall simply from your aura.
Case in point: they are all twinked.
Oh my god, I want one ;___; WANT DREAMER.
It's 7:18 here and I can no longer get on b.net. When did it start? Is it going to be like midnight my time when it finishes or what.
They began closing games around 2 and a half hours ago
I AM GOING TO MAKE A GRIM WARD BARBARIAN TO PISS YOU ALL OFF LOL
I can't get on b.net either. And it's been like that for at least an hour now. So by their words, no more than 3 hours.
It started 6PM Eastern. The earliest you can play is either 9:30 or 10.
I...think I may have to make a Dreamer Sorc...that just sounds so...*drools*
Yeah, but with the new ladder, all runes are gone. Which means to make any big runewords this early (and don't Dreams need a Jah), the high runes are very very likely going to be duped. Not that most of them weren't already, but the likelihood would increase at least 10-fold this early in a ladder. I can imagine hell Hell Forge runs are going to run rampant for a while trying to get runes, but those will only go up to what, Gul?

TACTICS
Enter a game, party with the newbs, and then cast your :skull::skull::skull::skull:ty war cries over and over again. Every time they cast their lvl OMFG SO HIGH LOL Battle Orders, you cast your :skull::skull::skull::skull:ty Lvl 1 BO. Repeat with every War Cry.
Leap around so as to annoy others.
Run or Leap in the middle of the fray, poke as many enemies as you can with your little knives, and once a monster dies (if ever), make a giant smurfing totem of fear out of the bugger's corpse.
If wearing Fortitude and/or Dream, Confuse and Mindblast will be bouncing about as well.
Watch as you disrupt Baal runs and earn yourself an unprecedented amount of hate!
Added bonuses come in the fact that you you can't kill anything! But by god, you can Leap around the enemy's attacks.
Leap is very fun for duels. Classic and perfect stalemate!
Not as annoying as multi-shot zons with a torch on. At least this one won't drop me.
But by the end of it all, you will have wished for it to drop.
Lawl, how true. It is quite the ultra-annoying build. You should make it, and I'll make a terror Necromancer to override everybody's curses, and together we can be called ghey all day and night.
Yes, make a Necromancer that uses Terror, Weaken, and Attract all the smurfing time. Place Attract on a monster near some random newb, and watch as the monster come rushing to him. Or have a Necro that keeps casting Terror or Weaken when in a band of Sorceresses and Poisonmancers.
Wands also spawn with the Wailing mod.
We shall be very ghey all day and night.
Not that I'm playing now, but b.net is back up.
Also, instead of a double throwing barb, I might try a fire arrow zon.
For a Dreamer, the only thing you have to remember is that you need to keep your Energy Shield up, and that you need enough AR in order to hit anything.
Energy Shield receives a bonus from Telekinesis. When both skills are maxed, Energy Shield will only consume .75 Mana per point of damage, instead of 2.
Enchant increases Attack Rating.
So, you have 80+ points devoted to Enchant, Energy Shield and Telekinesis, and Lightning Mastery. If you chose not to go the route of using an Energy Shield, than that allows you many more points, but you are made that much more delicate.
There are many different methods of making an Enchantress, so experimentation is best.
Personally, I maxed Thunder Storm along with Telekinesis, Energy Shield, Enchant, and Lightning Mastery.
I'm on, eoff/trout if anyone is up for playing now. :D Yay!
COME TO EOFF
IT'S TIME TO WASTE OUR LIVES TOGETHER!
No patch, no return.
....I guess we'll just have fun without you.
Oh wah wah wah
My god, I need an Insight!
Omg, crazy people on the internet. As of 1am there are a few sorcs and a pally at level 57, good lord.
power houses o_o!
Such quick-ness~
THIS IS MADNESS!
OMFG there is no real possible way for me to get this Poison Dagger skill of the necromancer to really rock. In some places, it truly shines, but for the most part, it's an incredibly difficult skill to use in any real effective manner (effective meaning slaying the enemy in a timely fashion without seeing the "You died LAWL" screen).
For a skill that can do 52k damage without much effort in terms of items, it smurfing blows chunks of suck. I want to make it work somehow.
Any of you have any ideas to throw at me?
I wasn't sleepy so I went back on,and everything worked fine. Figures.
At 4:03 am, there was already a 72 sorceress. At this rate, it will take less than a full 24-hour day to get somebody at 99.
A poison dagger mancer... I suppose if you had lots of block, a freezing aura merc, and teleport, you could zip around and stab everybody. But that requires lots of equipment and set-up.
Edit: What about using Life-Tap in place of a Lower Resist? With enough IAS, you'd refill your life too much to be killed.
Sadly, none of those tactics work
:( Poison Dagger is a case of lost potential to me. It comes off as a huge filler skill, like they just wanted to have a Necromancer with a dagger for the image of it all and tossed it in for no reason. Maybe Blizzard simply doesn't expect a build to be made around it ;-;
There seem to be quite alot of Filler Skills.
The Assassin has most of them IMO
Okay, I lied. I'm coming back, but only because youy lot are so pathetic.
I expect to be around 80 by the end of the day.
Why are we pathetic now?
I'm scared to get on and look at the ladder T_T
She does have quite a few shoved in there. I think the Barbarian has the most filler myself. There's like 3 useful warcries in that entire tree. Increased Stamina? Jump? Double Swing? Almost all of his skills are just crappy versions waiting to be replaced by something better :erm:
I'm going to be dumping my old ladder chars/mules soon for new ladder ones, so if anyone wants any of my old stuff, please let me know.
Not to mention Natural Resistance *drool*
*plays a lonely game of Diablo II Median*
._.
Proof that I'm awesome. And don't deny it.
You succeed at having the lamest life of us all Tav
OH NOEZ?!!?!?!?!?!??!
well don't gimme a second to upload it to photobucket
Im so pissed. A Plague Bearer Rune Sword Unique dropped in Chaos, but I couldn't pick it up because I lagged and was reset back, and it wouldn't let me. As it turnsd out the person who took it, sold it to the nearest vendor, and it became lost to Battle.net. Bloody smurfing smurfs.
This, is what happened to me today.
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4...eenshot007.jpg
Oh my =C
I'd like to point out I'm saying "Mmmkay" there and not "y" in place of "why." XD
Just rejoin and let's hope it goes away.
It's no big deal. Some program probably merged with your DirectX. Usually, it's Windows Media Player (for me).
Nothing else was open :c(
Grats Tavy.
100+ to go... :]
Andy killed me for the first time in ages...
I feel like a newb again which is at once frustrating, and yet very refreshing. It's nice to no longer be invincible at level 9.
I still have yet to acquire a Unique or useful Rare/Magic item...
I'll send out mass PMs tomorrow asking for Ladder information.
hey guys (and girls),
Can anyone help me getting a good bow, cause mine is kinda pathetic, lets just say I'm a lvl 36 amazon but I cant kill duriel on my own, even andariel can give me problems :D
so im proper smurfed if you know what i mean.
so can anyone miss a lysanders aim or anything like that, i'd really apreciate it.
I'm dead-beat poor at the moment, as are most of the others at the moment, so don't get your hopes up too high.
Enjoy being untwinked for once. It actually makes one appreciate (and sometimes hate) the game and its mechanics much more.
And OMFG, I never thought I would be ecstatic about finding an Isenhart's Case...
We found a Unique Bow yesterday, but I do not know who still has it, if they are even willing to lend it to you.
If you're making a weapon dependant character, you may wnat to use him until he gets somewhere useful, then twink a spellcaster and have him do MF runs for you. Then you have two well built characters.
I found Hsarus' buckler if anyone needs it.
If you can find a two socket bow, Ort Eth will make Zephyr. It's not really that great, but it's cheap and better than anything you can buy at a store. *shrug*
Zephyr- Ort Eth
+33% Enhanced Damage
+66 To Attack Rating
Adds 1-50 Lightning Damage
-25% Target Defense
+25 Defense
25% Faster Run/Walk
25% Increased Attack Speed
7% Chance To Cast Level 1 Twister When Struck
My Phoenix Sin isn't going so well. I think I'm going to return to making a Tiger + Dragon Tail until I get rich again, then go back to the Phoenix. I should be making an MF sorc, but I really don't want to be a sorceress so I'm putting it off :Oo:
I need a 4Os Polearm (low), the Sol rune, a good Paladin helm, and anything else you can find. I plan on creating a Fist of the Heavens Paladin to help with MFing. Thank god for Spellcaster damage being dependant on skills, and not items, since everyone is dirt poor.
I will keep an eye out for 4os polearms :O! I've been trying to find some to help you guys get Insights since I usually don't mess with mercs anyway *feels everybody yell at him for it*
Oh, yeah, I keep forgetting to bring this up. Diabloii.net had a news post a while back about some writer letting slip he was working on a Diablo movie script or something. They posted more news about it a few days ago.
I wonder if it will actually happen. These things don't always come to be, of course. If they do make a Diablo movie, I have zero hope it will be any good because I'm optimistic like that.Quote:

Diablo III, please. D:
Also, I need a sol, my insight is awaiting that pathetic god damn rune.
Hellgate: London is Diablo III.
