last minute discoveries. whoever it was that recommended la roux to me i looooooove you~
i dunno how i feel about wavves
i like the energy but the music itself kinda
yeah
doesnt do it for me
and im not trying to start a fight man
but the patrick wolf cd was such a bad experience for me because the first half i was all into it
and after the second half started i was just so down and the first just couldn't make up for the second half.
ill check out la roux
deadmau5 - For Lack of a Better Name
Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion
St. Vincent - Actor
Team Teamwork - The Good-ass Remixes Vol. 1
Cymbals Eat Guitars - Why There Are Mountains
in no particular order after the first, which is actually number 1 for me.
oh and my favorite song of the year is Strobe by deadmau5.
MY LOVE FOR PATRICK WOLF MAKES ME COMPLETELY BLIND TO ALL HIS FAULTS EVEN HIS ON STAGE TEMPER TANTRUMS.
+ Hard Times. Just musical perfection. The video rules too. I've been trying to figure out if he's sampling some other song with that weird violin flourish but I'm not sure it just sounds so familiar.
edit::love::love:Quote:
hardly, it is still just some dude bro rock that dude bros put on in their lifted trucks to get super psyched to go work out...
man I feel special now. dude Strobe contains literally like, the holy grail of drops. the buildup is so intense, then it just drops and you're like "whoa". this is why I would give my left testicle to be at a deadmau5 rave rolling on E. and yeah st. vincent smurf yeah.
OK! I like making lists.

Pissed Jeans - King of Jeans
Yakuza Heart Attack - Yazuka Heart Attack II

Probably missing some stuff, oh wells. Unfortunately, I really did not like The Bachelor (that video for "Damaris" is even worse) but I cannot bring myself to dislike Patrick, he's too beautiful it hurts. ;{
Uuuugh how can you not like that CD. The Bachelor is such a smurfing good songgggg~~
edit: big ups for micachu though. turn me well is sooo good. they make music with a vacuuuuum!
The xx - xx
is probably my favorite album of the year
i don't really think anythings gonna trump it in the next three weeks
Also:
Every Time I Die - New Junk Aesthetic
P.O.S. - Never Better
CunninLynguists - Strange Journey Volume One (haven't listened to Vol. 2 yet)
Bomb the Music Industry! - Scrambles
Still need to listen to Phoenix, Wavves, Japandroids, all the Pitchfork-hyped bands. I spent most of the year lost in the Beatles back catalog and listening to Elliott Smith's XO over and over.
Biggest disappointment: Brand New - Daisy
I had the chance of seeing St. Vincent live this year at the Roskilde Festival, but unfortunately couldn't because some other band was playing in the same time slot.
I've heard a lot of good things about her "Actor" album, so I really want to get my hands on it.
