You're right, I didn't contribute anything, because everything narrowed down to Thor and Batman's satirical comments about each other and not much else. I can only guess that most everyone else reacted the same way as I did when they read the thread and they are just waiting for a real discussion to begins.

First of all, I want to say that I about completely agree what you had to say. Next, I want to say that I find it amusing that Hulk is the least likeliest of all the superheroes to actually want to start a serious discussion out of all of us. Usually, I would expect him to get easily angry and talk rubbish in all caps while not making one damn sense. To that, I must congratulate the player on playing a smart game.

Now that I have that done, I want to say that I initially wanted to stop this fighting amongst Thor, Captain America, and Batsies before Psychotic had to intervene, but it wouldn't be a great idea to step in and would have given me a bad look had I done so. Not that I could do anything about it, but from my point of observation, it appears that Batsie and Captain America were both trying to get Thor to accidentally reveal his role. Now, I'm not claiming that they are scum, but this seems to be a tactic that is uncommonly used which could aid mafia more than it would the town. But what would I know about that? It's just what I'm getting from it so far.

I go to sleep so I can get up for work & somebody goes & gets themselves a mod warning? Remember people it's just a game so try to have fun without launching personal attacks on each other. And anybody who find themselves losing their sh*t over the comments another player makes about the way you play you should take time to remember you're losing your sh*t over a game.

To answer Hulk's question this day will last 24 hours. Roughly 15 1/2 hours left

I didn't get the feeling he had a power role as apparently others did. To me it just seemed the player tried to roleplay, horribly failing at that, and Batsie jumped on it. I don't think he's in the limelight at all besides you all saying he's in the limelight. Besides his horrible roleplaying, which many of you have failed at by the way, he hasn't done anything overtly suspicious for me as of yet. People started poking at Thor's roleplaying and he poked back, albeit getting into some name calling about it. Mafia games cause people to have tempers, I know I've had them before with this game. Some just know how to handle it better. Nothing Thor said was a big red flag to me, it was more of a "i'm angry that you're all putting baseless accusations on me" reaction.

Batsie only saved Thor after pushing him in front of the bus to begin with. Ergo, I don't see Batsie as actually saving anyone. Meaning, I don't think this limelight issue is really needed. Why would a doctor need to protect Thor? When if the mafia did kill Thor tonight, everyone pointing the finger would look suspicious, particularly batsie, that maybe is a save from batsie. And if they kill someone else that possibly targeted Thor, then Thor looks suspicious! If they make the batsie move, that is so very obvious of them. Let's think that by 22 games of this, that mafia wont be that obvious. It would be a smart move, but an obvious one for us veterans.

As of right now, I don't think either Thor or Batman are all that suspicious besides talking a lot. I just think they are equally distracting the town.

Hey, hey, wake up, Iron Man, the game has started. The game plays even if you refuse to see it or refuse to make it worthwhile for the town. You can clam up and claim there's nothing to work at, or you roll up your sleeves and start planting because this garden does not grow on its own. Maybe you are new and do not know the harder everyone plays on Day 1, the easier it is to start sussing out the baddies in later days. Day 0's, mind you, are useless for town because there are no good consequences, but Day 1's are when people start tallying your votes and looking at motivations.

Day 2 is when people start looking at votes, because nobody has really voted for anything yet because we didn't know if the vote consequence would be good or bad yesterday. Today is when the votes start to be worth something. When everyone votes today (and they should, even if they aren't sure who is scum, Rock The Vote and all that), we'll have something to go on tomorrow.

It's possible Thor is a Jester, and it's his goal to get lynched. I don't think that's the case for Batman.

I like the colour green as its the colour of joy and mucous!

I agree that Thor was probably just being silly, and it turned badly. I'm less suspicious of Batman than I am Captain America, as I feel like Captain America was antagonizing Thor...but just to the point where people still took more notice of what Batman was saying.

Think both Iron Man and Wolverine are both sly snakes who say very little of any meaningful value, saying empty soundbites. Very mafiaesque. Their voting for me with no justification only confirms that. "Oh I'm voting 'cause I have to vote! Let's vote for the same person!" Not a word on how I'm suspicious or whatever. Think Wolverine is more suspicious than Iron Man to be honest with you, that bulltrout about it being "curious" that I'm providing good advice (HOW is it curious? WHAT are the implications? That's how you contribute) but given that I'm now in a lovely position with two votes on me, I have to even the scores.

Of course, now I've pointed this out I don't doubt they'll cobble together some excuse about how whatever happened with Thor - or my reasons for doing so - make me suspicious and I look forward to that, because that's only proving my point.

I agree. It's one thing to be suspicious of someone, it's another to cast a vote on them with no backing for it. Batsie and Thor's little tryst was just that, to me at least. No one has pointed anything out as a fact of WHY those two would earn any suspicion. Just that they do.

So Wolvie comes out of no where and bandwagons with ironman. Iron man at least gave a reason, a fflimsy one, but a reason. Wolvie just yesmaned it.

Votes are the closest thing we get to solid evidence. Mafia doesn't vote for fellow Mafia (unless they're in rival factions). If a Mafia member is lynched, the people who voted for them are more likely to be pro-town. If a townie is lynched, people who voted for them are more likely to be anti-town.

There are two things that commonly ruin Mafia games. People who don't vote, and people who take things personally.

Next time I run a Mafia game, Day 1's only going to allow one post per player, and it will have to be a vote. There doesn't have to be reasoning behind it, because any reasons given on day 1 are going to be flimsy and stupid anyway. The game doesn't really start until someone's been lynched.

I don't understand why there is so much prejudice against people who are playing for the first time. It's my first time playing and I am having a grand old time and I think you are all being stinky for moaning about people who are playing for the first time. Even I was scared the first time I stepped into the 8 sided circle. So what if it's Batman's first time playing as well, old Brucie is a smart lad he will pick things up quickly enough. Look how far he's come from the days of PAFF! WHAPP! and so on. I think Iron Man needs to put down the bottle and look at the world from a sober perspective.

Nobody has done anything suspicious because nobody has done anything that can be proven to be good or bad for the town yet. The things you're pointing out as suspicious? They're not. They're just things that are happening.

I dislike this notion of you taking credit for this recent activity in the game, Iron Man. It's only happening now because the players are returning from having a thing called a life. Ever heard of it? I'm sure you have. This is not the result of your voting just because you had to.

Of course people can act suspiciously on Day 1. People get assigned their roles before the game starts, not on Night 1. The mafia tend to be more cautious about accusations, getting attention onto themselves and contributing anything that can be traced back to them. It's basic psychology. We all do it when we're mafia. If you pick up those subtle cues, put a little bit of pressure on someone, you can start to see patterns forming. (Which is what I am doing right now!)

Don't make me do the "Yes but in Mafia 48272, Joe caught a mafia on day 1!" business because so help me god I will. And nobody wants that.

To say nothing on day 1 - a day where you have acted in a suspicious manner - can be held against anyone speaks for itself my friend. :kakapo:

Incidentally, Iron Man, since I voted for you you've:

• Accused me of being a nuisance

Given that none of this is remotely true, I would appreciate it if you stopped trying to deflect things, and give up on your ad hominem strategy. :greenie:

Considering hardly anything happened all day, including yesterday evening IRL when this game day started, and almost everything said since my vote spawned either from my vote or discussions that were spawned from my vote, yeah, I feel pretty good about taking credit for getting the ball rolling.

Also, people were posting nonsense right up until this afternoon, so unless everyone's day job is from like 2 to 6 PM, "life" probably didn't have as much to do with the lack of activity after that as you might think.

Well Brucie if we're supposed to be going after people that aren't giving us much of anything to go on then apart from the people who haven't posted doesn't that make Galactus the biggest suspect? All he has done so far is make a couple of posts hinting that he'd like to get the shield off my arm if you know what I mean. Brucie and Iron Man seem to be quite enjoying accusing each other of being new and according to Wolverine being a new player is codeword for an assumption of something that is impossible to discern from his post because it makes no sense at all! From what I have gathered over the last couple of pages of this thread:

-Being a new player, or CLAIMING to be a new player means you are either trying to do something to prevent getting a vote, or are a mafia in disguise, or you are accusing someone else of being one
-The amount of posts you make directly correlates to your likelihood of being a mafia member
-Galactus is fond of military men on incredible amounts of steroids

So I think there are a couple of valid reasons that it matters whose first time playing it is or not! And the post counts! According to Iron Man this kind of thing is the way you can tell the scum from the townies and that what has been said or not said or whatever hidden clues Brucie is going on about that he has mysteriously seen but not divulged are actually not important. IS THIS CORRECT? PLEASE HELP ME

If you hand pick the entire town and mafia teams that's wrong, and I don't think you should be hosting a game of mafia on Eyes on FF. That's not how it's done here or should ever be done here because not only would it create the same old games with the same people being mafia, it's also being elitist and favouritist. End of.

Yeah its not fair, but that's just it though, it doesn't always work, look at the Game Villains edition: Mafia got screwed then so it doesn't always work like that. Also how is it being favouritist? Your acting like the Mafia always wins, you acting like "Oh that person is Mafia so they MUST be the hosts favourite people" its kinda silly tbh I honestly think that the Mafia game should be interesting and to do that the Mafia people must be able to hide in plain sight. Spiderman, how do you rate your own mafia playing abilities? Do you think you have some good quality experience and that you can provide some really good insight?

Since there is a tie, the day will continue for 51 minutes. At that point, if none has more votes than anyone else, then Iron Man will be Lynched. If you make the conversation interesting enough, I am willing to extend this time limit up to 5 hours from now.

Remember, I will be check vote counts at the hour mark, so a single vote in between that ends up being a tie later will not change the result.

Well... my game play experience isn't massive, but I have always been suspicious of the right people, but never been articulate enough to put my suspicions into words, in other words, I get a gut feeling about people, then tend to die quickly but continue to watch the game and my suspicions tend (and not trying to be big headed here but by tend I mean 9/10 times) to be right.

Let's see, with a game the size that it is, which is 14, I could say that any one of us could be Mafia, but we do not know for sure, since only we're just starting out. But as the game progresses, it should make things easier when the players start weeding out. Considering there's only 14 of us, I'd say at least 3 of us are Mafia. Not to say that's entirely true. Heck, maybe there's probably another faction in play.

Cept you were soooo pushy on the fact yesterday about it. With no backing evidence. Yes it was day one but we eliminated day 1 shenningans by having a day 0. Sure no one died during day 0 but we honestly didn't know what they'd choose to do with day 0 votes. Being able to look at all of your posts (your as in everyone) there is a lot of evidence to go by for reasonings more than "well he's just suspicious VOTE". Let's look at what cast the lynch vote, only 3 votes but the day was about to end.

It's quite possible that Lex Luthor was trying to save Iron Man, and it's also quite possible that Lex Luthor's death was completely unrelated to the votes at the end of yesterday. Iron Man might possibly be red on the inside, but it wasn't a vigilante that took old Luthor down.

I have to admit, Captain America is one odd character, and I don't think I can get a clear reading on him or his true intentions. Not that it really matters, but I don't get much from his posts. While it would work theme wise, SD said specifically that it was all random. You didn't give much about why Thor was mafia just that you had a gut feeling and usually you're 9/10 times right about your gut feelings. That's some hard evidence right there. Batman has said, in the thread, for everyone to read, he is doing it for attention he even gave himself the name of sprinklefairy xD Giving him the attention, if he is a jester, is counter-productive! Yet you could not get off antagonizing him even after you claimed you were convinced he was the jester.

Then your reasoning for Thor, after your whole mess with attention seeking batsie was "Oh yeah what captain america said yeah that." It was nearing the end of the day. Duh, of course I knew that Spidey. I still fail to see how this would soil my name had he voted differentely though. However, this does not concern me at all because he's long gone, and I don't understand why you have to make such a big fuss about this in the first place. So what if his vote may harm me, he can't do that anyway now that he's dead, so it shouldn't be an issue to me. All I did was vote for Iron Man to counter his vote for Batman with just because as his initial reason.

Righty, Lex might have been working alone, but more mafia might be in the group. Spiderman, Iron Man, Batman, and Wonder Woman are all viable suspects. I don't believe putting my eggs all in one basket, so I'm wondering if Batman inadvertently got Thor to sing or if Wonder Woman is as dense as she plays up.

Lex might have been saving Iron Man, but bandwagoning with friends is silly when you can hide among sheep. Anyone who voted, but not for Thor, really should be looked at askance.

Also the inclusion of the Priest indicates to me that this is a no vanilla game.

That's a pretty poor concept for a game. What about those of us who like vanilla? Carte dor's vanilla is one of my favourite ice creams going.
