I hope so too, he still seems like a few other angsty characters from past SE works but at the same time, its still too early to say. Though I find Nomura's explanation on his personality to be in some conflict of what we actually see in trailers but who knows.
>>> I dont care much about the "main Hero/Heroine" characters (those are dull by default), as long as we have more girls like Yuffie, im happy.
well,i've gotta disagree on a few accounts.
Faris was a pirate captain who somehow fooled a bunch of men into thinking she was a man.If that is stereotypical,I'll shoot a moogle.
Celes was a magic-enfused knight general in a ridiculously powerful empire. Then she just kinda...left.Not too afraid of what was going to happen to her.She took the beatings pretty well,I must say.
Garnet was...Garnet.She really pulled off the rebellion/loyalty/care/sassy thing well.
I liked all the girls in FFXII.And then there was Vaan....
because yuffie acts like shes been dropped on her head as a baby 10 too many times. oh, touchée!!
I absolutely agree. Man.
I would have been so much happier if it had been Basch in the main role like it was smurfing supposed to be! >=O! Vaan is offensive.
I guess this is just the way it has to be, I guess. No surprises. The side characters are always cooler. Etc. *big sigh*
Yuffie is redeemed in my eyes as she so ashamedly herself in ffvii, and then she performs amazingly in the bahamut fight and I can't help but feel her pain in Doc, when she stares up and says "vincent" there is something very emotional about that as she usually so hyper and cutesy. When aeris died and she was so sad i think part of it (other than they were friends obviously) was that yuffie was Very Young, but in Doc shes grown a lot, i love her.
I think that works there... anyway:
The hyper-perky types are basically all selfish in some way. Whether it be looking for Materia, fun, friends, or family, their motives are always self-driven and they express themselves freely (though there might be some scheming from time to time).
The badass type are usuallyperky and bishoujonot so talkative and typically know how to claim leadership in some way. They fight to protect others and sometimes for gain.
Aeris, Rinoa, and Yuna are all sacrificial lamb/perky bishoujo types. They are meant as the primary love interest and are usually the key to the world's salvation only through their sacrifice. Aeris died, Rinoa became possessed, and Yuna was ready to die along with Tidus in order to shut up Sin for another decade or so. Although she ended up not having to. She becomes a more typical hime-type bishoujo in X-2 alongside Rikku. Though she is meant to be the balance between Rikku's fun and flirty nature and Paine's emotionless bodyguard persona, she tends to match Rikku a little too often.
lol.
