Racoon was my favorite for the movie. Bar none the best lines.
Though really, all of them were amazing. I thought they did fine with the villains, Thanos being their to build up the continuity of the greater universe at large, and the main villain filling out his role well enough. He was definitely threatening.
Ubest film in forever
Just saw it this evening and it was a great fun movie, not exactly "Oh trout I need to see this again tomorrow" like Avengers was but it was a fun ride. I second Noire that the film's major problem was the villains being largely out of focus and frankly there were probably too many supporting characters and villains/antagonists for a flick that was also trying to develop five distinct characters but what the hell it was really funny, had good action sequences, I got some more Thanos, Infinity Gems, and a rocking 70s soundtrack. I had fun and isn't that the point? If I wanted villains with better depth I would go back to reading the comics.
So I wasn't going to see this because I didn't really have the funds to go to the theater. But my dad recently turned fifty and it was kind of a big deal so my mom and I took him out to watch. We had all been wanting to watch this but my parents are really strapped too so this was kind of pushing it, but it was WORTH IT! We were actually kind of worried that we were making it out to be something that it wasn't. We had gotten really excited to see The Avengers and when we finally got to see it, the experience just DID NOT DISAPPOINT. We were worried that no other Marvel film would be able to compete on that level. But Guardians, on the other hand, was on a whole other level. We were surprised how often we laughed, how often we started to tear up, and that neither of things seemed out of place or detracted from the adrenaline ride for each action sequence. I had to take a reality pill to even begin to try to find things about the movie I may not have liked. Pretty much all I've got at this point is that I wish there had been more of a battle between Gamorra and Nebula. It felt like I blinked and suddenly she'd gotten chucked out a window. But for now, that's all I've got, the rest was so awesome and we even stayed for the stinger and my dad laughed out loud when he recognized Howard the Duck (which coincidentally we had watched just a couple of months ago).
The last thing we need to complete the plan... is that man's eye.
It's been a while since I saw a film this pointless. And it was really fun.
