Most Greatest RPG of the SNES era

Chrono Trigger...closely followed by Final Fantasy VI and Breathe Of Fire II but I would say CT simply because it is a great game:D

While Chrono Trigger and FFVI are great games, I have to go with Zelda: Link to the Past. I grew up with that game, and have very good memories of me and my dad playing it.

Ok, time to toss in my two cents. I have played the following SNES RPGs

Earthbound
Final Fantasy IV
Final Fantasy V
Final Fantasy VI
Final Fantasy Mystic Quest
Super Mario RPG
Tales of Phantasia
Chrono Trigger
Seiken Desentsu 3
Lufia and the Fortress of Doom
Zelda A Link to the Past
Breath of Fire
Breath of Fire II

Breath of Fire I and II were fun to play, but there isn't enough there to consider them the greatest. Same with Super Mario RPG(although it's one of favorite games)

FFMQ was too linear to be even noticed as the greatest. FF IV and V were great games

However, when it comes right down to awesome storyline, great gameplay, outstanding music, and well done graphics, these three games would fit in there

Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasy VI
Tales of Phantasia

They all had memorables characters, an unforgettable storyline, and music you can hum to while you're playing. However, if I had to pick one right now, it would FF VI with Chrono Trigger at a close second

I can't believe no one's gone in for Tales of Phantasia.

I can't believe this thread is still open. The most greatest rpg of the snes era is still, and always will be, FFVI. :chef:

Star Ocean, followed by CT. Didn't really like FFVI.

I liked Secret of Mana. Wow, I never played FFVI, from what you guys say, it sounds like a really good game! :)
