Wow. He's really holding on. I first heard about this yesterday morning, and he's still barely alive still, according to CNN. Anyway, CCN(if you're wondering, it's the only DTV channel I know directly) says that he got a high fever in the Vatican Morning, but he...responded? I don't know. The light is still on, I'm typing all this as they say it, now we're taking a short break, and i'm posting this.

I am not a Catholic, however ever I am a Christian. I don't always agree on how the Catholic church does things, but I hold John Paul II in high respect. That man must be blessed because he is fluent in 8 languages and would speak to people in what ever language they spoke and lived what he preached. He tried to make the world a better place for all people, not just Catholics or Christians, but all religions. His ideas although not always popular were important to him and never backed down. I agree with him on alot of them and I am a Penecostal Christian and not a Catholic. When I heard he was dying I began to weep. And they mentioned on the news that when he was shot back in 1981 he returned to visit the man who attacked him and prayed for him and said he still loved him because of what Christ taught. Now that was a man who truely believed in God and forgiveness. He also allowed the people to see him suffer instead of hiding it and still showed strength and refused to allow other people to fill in for him until this recent Easter. When he passes away I will honor him in my own way. I hope he is made a Saint like another person I admired Mother Teresa.

The pope's dead!? Whoa. OM gosh, I knew he was ill, but I didn't know he'd died! I mean, he was alive this afternoon. When did he die? RIP John Paul II...

Until the very end, he was a fighter it would seem. As every news site and channel is reporting, his impact in the world was one that, while dominated by religious importance, also had profound impact in so many other ways. His greatest legacy may well be that he was a linchpin for many of the bigger events of the 20th century.
Take care all.

He died at 9:37pm (7:37pm GMT), but due to the rules in effect, it was announced only about half an hour after.
R.I.P.

Though I'm not of the Catholic faith ( or any real religion for that matter) I'm sure he will be sadly missed.

It doesn't really affect me personally, but I know millions of people around the world will be affected by this deeply. I feel for them.
I don't know much about him, but I really don't like what he had to say about homosexuals. Other than that he was a good guy, I guess. R.I.P pope.

He believed his suffering in his final hours brought him closer to his god. Rest in peace John Paul II.
