The Highwind Award for Forums Staff

This was a tricky one with one member who edged ahead at the very last moment with a handful of staffers tied with them on 2 votes a piece until that point, and each of them had good reason to win it. Jiro with his community building efforts and strong enthusiasm, Wolf Kanno for his intelligent posting and broad work throughout both general and gaming forums alike, and Del Murder for his highly respected leadership and decision making within the staff forum (read: firing everyone) all had a shout for it, but in the end it felt almost inevitable that it was always going to be the guy who does all the things nobody else wants to do, be it to do with more site-related work or just general cleaning up of the forums. With a good sense of humour, a level head, a caring towards EoFF and an ability to seemingly help with absolutely any kind of problem anyone might have, Rantzien is the guy who wins this award and with ease. Thanks, man, for all the work you do about this place. It will never go unnoticed by the staff around you and it just goes to show that when multiple staff members have done so much for EoFF that you still win this and you have to feel it's very deserved. Keep it up, and thanks again.

Rantzien is one of the best ever, if not the best. I cannot think of any other staffer in history who has nothing negative about them. BoB can be too much of a dork, Psy can be too much of a comedian, and Del Murder can be too much of an elitist, but Rantzien is just...the whole package. I assure you this place would be a pile of scrap if it wasn't for this guy and I'm so glad he's around.

Congrats to all the runners up here too. Everyone of the them deserved it too. You might think Hypoallergenic Cactuar is a joke vote, but have you seen anyone with that sort of enthusiasm before? The guy is a nutter in the best possible way.

Have you spent hours designing ships in Space Empires V so you can have a diverse fleet with several specialized ships, such as supply, repair, carriers, point defense, planetary bombardment, planetary invasion, warphole breaching, minesweepers, intelligence ships, and then the actual regular combat craft?

Also, mod a psp to the point where it uses 3g, runs windows (very buggy, but it works) and has a compressed library consisting of N64, PSP, PS1, and GBA games. Or just play ff 11, I havent done that. Or play halo and kill someone other than yourself. (I suck at Halo for some reason) (actually, if you play anything other than platform and rpg, you've got me beat). Still, go beat minerva at level 7. I command you.

Thanks for the Cutest Couple Ciddie, it wasn't expected. :) Not sure how I keep winning that even now, I can only imagine it's because of a combination of so many other couples meaning that the votes not for us are spread more evenly and also Danielle being so cute she barely needs to show up in chat to convince people she is so cute that she can outweigh my own lack of cuteness. Also, Kaycee declined to be a tie-breaker. That probably helped, too. :p

I went from 78 votes and no ciddies to winning the most ciddies. This is balls.

The Ciddies went from being pretty predictable to unpredictable quite recently. I remember when it was usually one member would receive at least 10 awards (ex: Christmas, Psychotic, and Dr Unne) to now being evenly distributed among the members. The most being 3 or 4. I think that's quite an improvement over the years if you ask me.

They weren't as predictable (it used to be very rare for members to predict half of the Ciddies accurately) nor were the members as dominant as you might think. I think only once or twice has a member received at least 10 awards, and one of those was an EoFF Awards thing where there were something like 70 awards up for grabs. xD I think Del Snizz and Christmas are the only two users to have that many to their name in a single event. And I'm not 100% sure on Christmas... you can check here, I think? I can't check www.eyesonff.com URLs at work so I'm not sure if I got that right. :S But if it is right, there should be tabs at the bottom and one of them should go to the overall stats.

Unne, BOU, and Bleys won a troutton in the early days. But EoFF was smaller and now both the leadership and popularity are more diverse.

But I agree that, if anything the Ciddies have become more predictable, at least the past two times where the highest predictor had 30 and 31 right, and compared to the Ciddies only since predictions started. I'm fairly sure that even being close to 30 was unheard of before.

Or are the predictors simply older and smarter? :P
