Well that was fun. I just did a Hell Andy run and a random normal Zombie dropped Ali Babas and Andy dropped Goldwrap. That puts my MF over 500%! :D
I also found a nice unique elite bow (attached image) if anyone's interested.

So me and SRL were playing a Baal game, so that he could Matriarch his Assassin. Halfway through the run, it lags horribly, but that's not the bad part. Half the time I couldn't click on anything, and my Lifetap REFUSED to cooperate, so I had to rely on Berserk to kill the Physical Immunes, of which we ran into endless droves of. We get to Baal's minions, and the game speeds back up. I die twice IN TOWN, lost half of my EXP, and my money, of which I was overflowing from my stash, was reduced to a mere 1.6 million gold. I kill Baal with my Dual Ali Baba's, of which he dropped not a single useful unique for SRL's Baal quest. I try to Travincal, and wind up using half of my Full Rejuvination Potions (I only have eight left, now). Not a happy day.
Smurfing load of crap. At least I found an Um rune in the minions chamber.
I just traded a Ko for a Lem so I have the runes for Delirium, I just need a high quality 3 socket helm now...
Bone Visages or Diadems.
EDIT: He got a Superior Crown and Fal from me, and I in exchange, got a low HOTO. Bloody smurf.
Well I managed to trade for a Lem and Tav gave me a 3 socket grand crown so now I sport a sexy Delirium helm. :love:
I also traded and got Homonculus so my Necro is even better than it was before I lost everything in a lagged xfer. :love:
I traded a 4Os Phase Blade for 2 Facets and Thundegod's Vigor.
Those are 4 high runes, while Os'd pbs are worth only one high rune.

I mean it sounds pretty decently powerful for a merc, but would it actually be?

It's better to find a Etheral Spear, since Zod is innately Indestructible, nor does a mercenary drain durability.

GG, that's going to start happening in Hell regularly. Eventually, you should replace all of your potions on your belt with Full Rejuvs, and maybe keep a few in your stash as back-up. You never when you are going to encounter an Extra Strong, Extra Fast, Stone Skin, Mana Burn, Multi-Shot, Lightning Enchanted, Cold Enchanted projectile super unique and you'll need to use like five of them just to run away from it. It happens more often than you might expect.
Mulley, are you sure you want to use that on a Lance? You could use a six-socket one handed sword or flail and still have a shield (I run into six-socket swords all the time in hell). Are you making this for your necro?
It's for my merc. My necro has Loric's wand now so he'll never need another weapon again. :D

So I'm trying to trade for a Ko and the person asks what runes I have. I tell them a Fal, Lum and Um. They tell me they'll trade the Ko for the Um. I say no way, not straight up. So they offer a Ko AND Shael, which I laugh at. After I tell them no, they actually have the nerve to offer a Ko and an Ort, a freakin' Ort. At this time bnet diconnected me, which is a good thing, because I wouldn't have been very polite to the person. :smash:
That's the LOL. Either way, don't do Um for Ko+anything, since Um alone is 3 Ko runes. Um is a high rune (the lowest of), and therefore, incredibly valuable.

I have a fair assortment of low level Sets and items (Arctic and Vidala), as well as equipment. However, as far as weapons go, the only REAL weapons that a Bowazon can use are Faith, Ohm + Jah + Lem + Eld, and BotD, Vex + Hel + El + Eld + Zod + Eth. Good luck for those! Collossus Crossbows bows are your best best as far as sockets and damage go.
For you attack skill, either go Strafe with Cold or Fire backup, or full elemental techtree with synergies.

What's a PComb?
Grand Charm with +1 to all Paladin Combat Skills. The Suffix can be anything; +life or +mana are worth most.
I haven't found any ones with a suffix yet, just the +1 skills, but they're still tastey.
No suffix at all is only 8 high runes, but delicious!
Wow, what things are worth have really changed in the 8 months I haven't played. It's really bad. Shako's apparently are worth more than pul (they used to be pul along with homunculus and occulus), now apparently its worth 2-3 high runes, which is ridiculous. and PCcharms 10+ highrunes? When the hell did that one happen. They were 2+4 hrs, 5 if you got a nice life or mana addition to it. Man,greedy farts.
I'm guessing that as time has gone on, more high runes entered the market, thus making them worth less.
EDIT: And pardon my ignorance, but when people refer to a Shako, are they referring to the Harlequin Crest?

Yes. Jalal's used to only be worth a Hel, but now that people have the options to MF more, and have the gear to make high class Smiter Paladins, high runes have been easier to find. As the demands of more characters increases, so does the demand for gear for those characters. Particularly, Paladins. Torches are now only worth one high rune, while Sorceress and Paladin Torches range from 3 to 12. As more characters are required, so does also the need to make them more gosu. It's like an exponential curve that is self perpetuating, which is why Battle.net is having lag problems recently.Quote:

What's a 5os Phase Blade worth?
A high rune, maybe two (but don;t count on it), since it can be used for Eternity, Death, Destruction, and the most important of them all, Grief. Also remember to keep Berserker Axes, the Elite version of normal one handed Axes. These are the highest power weapons in the game when combined with a good runeword. An Os'd Berserker Axe is worth 2+ high runes (not the Set item, the white item).

So Tav, as I was saying, I am maxing Chain Lightning + synergies, 1 to Thunderstorm for extra damage, and maxing Nova last since it's the crappiest. I think I'll be done at level 94, but I'll be strong enough at level like 75ish.
So that's Chain, Lightning, Charged Bolt, Nova, Mastery.
Then there's equipment, so your damage should be anywhere from 1 - 20k.
EDIT: I do hope you have not forgotten mastery! Realistically, you'll want to get Chain, then Lightning, then Mastery, then Charged Bolt, then Nova.
Actually I was going to go Chain Lightning, Lightning Mastery, Lightning, Charged Bolt, Nova with a point in Warmth, Static Field, Telekinesis, Teleport and Thunderstorm when they are available. But I suppose your way works too. :D

Well that was interesting. I had a game up for trading my 5 socket Phase Blade. A person came on saying they needed it. After they saw the blade they asked if I had an Amn, Ral and Mal as well for trade. When I told them I didn't they got mad at me and left. xD

You can unsocket an item by putting the item you want to clear the sockets of, along with a Hel Rune and a Scroll of Town Portal, in the cube and Transmute. Just remember that you will lose any gems, runes, setc... that are socketed into it.

You lose the rune the moment you use it, rather it be by mistake, to use the rune's property, to complete a runeword, or in a cube recipe. If you have already made a good runeword, I would keep the item and find another socketed item to make another runeword. If you accidentally used the rune, then it's gone, no matter how accidental it was. One of the things that pretty much suck but there's nothing that can be done about it. Once it's used it's gone, part of something else now.
That's unfortunate, and is only your fault for accidentally socketing them. Now if it were because of lag, that's understandable (if it would let you socket it at all in lag, since most of the time, items are restored based on points of lag); but you should not blame me, for it is much more worth it to save the item than to save the rune: 4Os flails, 5Os flails, 3Os AP and DS, 4Os armors, 4Os Polearms, Os'd Phase Blades, and Os'd Berserker Axes are worth far more than some accidentally lost rune, especially Berserker axes (they go as high as five high runes).Quote:

In otherwords, I want to switch one rune word into another higher level item.

I've got a low one, but spfft, I want a better one for my pally. The crappy one can go on my druid. He won't need the defense.
Depends on the Paladin type. For the most part, you only need a Mage Plate with 3Os.
Hammer, and the one I've got on him now only has 904 def and is on a gothic plate. But, I got it damn cheap, so its ok.
So, to anyone who might stumble across a 3os Archon Plate, would you mind hanging onto it for me. Thanks a bunch, I'll try to look for one myself tonight. And Tav, I'll be on tonight if you want your Gheed's back.

Comcast usually doesn't have that problem. I'm not sure. Our phone lines have been acting up lately as well. I think it might be a technical difficulty of their fault.
So I hopped on Hell this morning and fought Mephisto, Eldritch, Shenk and Nihlathak and didn't get a single Set or Unique drop all game. I even have 450 MF. What a waste. :(

EDIT: I have found it necessary to expand my operations to a fifth account, Ezellohar (yeah that's right).
I killed Shenk and Eldritch until they finally gave me Tal Rasha's Death Mask and a Pul rune.
EDIT: I found a 3oS Archon Plate that will hopefully one day become an Enigma. I just need to find the respective runes...
Anyone have any suggestions as to where I might find these runes?
Countess runs, assuming that you can survive them, or have the patience. Alternatively, you can try to find an item that is worth the high runes. Hell hellforges quests, trading away PGems, and the like can also result in runes. Alternatively, finding Keysets can result in a high rune for trade. I'll see if I can trade my 2 Lo runes for Jah and Ber.
Alright. I have 40+ PGems, so I may get one that way. And I can survive Countess runs: my only qualm with them is that they take forever...
You think Pul, Um, or Dol will get me anywhere? These are the highest runes I have...
Oh, and I have Natalya's Odium and Tal Rasha's Horadric Crest and a Dwarf Star Ring. Those are the highest items I'd be willing to give up.
I remember reading somewhere that you have an 90% chance of a Thul or lower drop in Hell, 9% of Amn - Shael and 1% of anything above that, with a Fal or Lem being the highest she'll drop. These might not be 100% accurate, but from my experience in doing Countess runs, they seem to be fairly accurate. So your chance of finding high runes or finding mid-runes to transmute into higher runes are slim. But then again, you always have the chance of getting a Terror Key from her, so it's not all bad.Quote:

Indeed. If only we could maintain recruiting, we would be expanding, as well. Assuming you can survive Nihlathak, you should be able to get some DKeys; however, the Keys only have a 1/5 chance of dropping (the real odds are slightly less). You can get keys faster if you join public games and hunt them there, but that would be very difficult in certain occassions.Quote:

Depending on the set part of her Odium, prices will vary. Nat's Armor is a Hel or Pul, the Helm is Pul, the Weapon is a high rune, and the boots are worth an El. Tal's Mask can vary, since there are alot of Sorceresses on Battle.net. The +Life and +res are nice, but they can be found rather easily, especially at Hell Travincal (I remember tossing quite a few). Dwarf star is useless, maybe a Hel, but I would not count on it.

Once you get Leo's Wand and Homonculus, you should be able to let go of those Spirit items. For a belt, you can also try to get Arachnid's, which is around nine high runes.

And Darkforce Spawn Bloodlord Skull or the Boneflame Succubus Skull would grant me +3 instead, though the Boneflame's additional mods are somewhat less than satisfactory when compared with the Darkforce of Homunculus. And the Darkforce is insanely rare, I believe.
But when all is said and done, yeah - Homunculus is best.
So, in the end, I could be looking at level 38 Skeleton Mastery, 33 Fire Golem, 35 Skeleton Mages, 36 Skeletons, 14 Revives, Corpse Explosion that would reach 7 yards, level 14 curses...

You need Grand Charms and Arach's. Skills can go as high as 60 on Battle.net. Possibly crafted Gloves, but I wouldn't count on it. I should really train my new Frenzy Barbarian, it would own you in a duel!

That's +22 so far. You can fit 9 more grand charms in your inventory which will take you to +31.
Annihulus (SC) gives +1, and I guess I forgot about Torches (LC), which give +3. It's also possible to craft gloves and boots, but these are extremely rare. As far as Summoners go, Marrowwalk Boots (which Nominus has because of me), give +2 to Skeleton Mastery. Oddly enough, this item build also has a good +res.
