If you were to imagine EoFF as some menagerie, or a zoo (bear with me here!), then arguably the most exciting part of a zoo's life is the introduction of a new baby animal! Indeed, these little balls of creation draw many new tourists to zoos each year: there's an entire website devoted to this if you want to inject some adorability to your life.

Just as baby animals are a source of much excitement for the world's zoos, at EoFF the arrival of new members causes us equal amounts of joy! I always enjoy writing for the Best Newbie award because it gives us a chance to pause for a second and reflect on the past six months of new arrivals, and to consider all they have given us!

No matter who wins this award, I just want to say to all of our newbies, that you're all the best in my eyes!

Unfortunately, moogles cannot be found in zoos, so I had to find an appropriate stand-in animal to fully represent fat_moogle. In the end, I went with a nice heavy animal to represent the plump moogle that fat_moogle has as their avatar: the elephant! fat_moogle has been with us for awhile now and is already making article contributions!

I think I'm most happy about Mister Adequate winning best vet. I was a little worried that someone who joined post 2010 would win. Don't get me wrong, some of them are our best members (Bubba now literally is), but it would have rubbed me the wrong way a little.
That, and I'm playing the very very long game and soon I'll be the only one left to win best vet.

I... I may have discovered that archive.org has all the DOS games I'll ever want and got sidetracked by playing Oregon Trail (my first time playing it, and I won!). Congrats to Bubba and Rin and Pumpkin and all you other winners of things! Also, a massive thank you to Award Claus for all the hard work, it's never easy and I know all those who have hosted this event before you will have a lot of respect for the effort you've put in.

Finally, I want to thank those who voted for my avatar. I don't think it's the first time I've come second and someday - someday - I'll win that damned Ciddie.

I can't believe you never played Oregon Trail before. In grade school, it was a staple in Computer Lab, alongside Gauntlet, Paper Boy, Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego, Pengo & Clam Bake (Pac-Man rip-off).

I saw the first Street Fighter on that site, and got excited, but then I couldn't figure out which buttons to press to get the game to start, so now I'm sad.

On account of Mr. Carny being a massive nerd and using my laptop literally all day to do his coursework, I've missed all of the second day of Ciddies.

Congrats to all the winners! Especially Bubba! Proving once and for all that having a child can open doors. ;)

I also went through the thread and found out I won Best Writer somehow. The hell? I don't even write professionally! Or even semi-professionally! Thanks for the votes, but I think an actual writer should have won :p

I also won MLT Be the Next Staff Member; I'm happy you all think so highly of me!

Finally, I'm slightly disappointed that Mr. Carny didn't win Best Newbie. He came second in the summer to FFNut and came second again to Rin, who thoroughly deserved the Ciddie; you're awesome! Alas, Mr. Carny can't be Best Newbie any more. :monster:

No, funnily enough. His current laptop is super old so he basically uses mine. It's gotten to the point that it automatically logs in as him for Facebook, Amazon, Gmail, even EoFF. It's exactly as annoying as you think.

Buy him a raspberry pi 2 for christmas :p
