The viking long-boat is faster and easier to manuver, but does suffer a clear dissadvantage from the lack of heavy artillery (cannons).

Vikings > pirates
Are we not th' same, really? Wot is a Viking if not a Pirate? Do we not all pillage, kill, and sail th' open seas? Join me brother and together we'll sail our way inta th' hist'ry books.
If not I'll give th' order t' fire upon yer defenseless ship. :D
Vikings are amphibious. And have cooler weapons.
Actually, vikings were just as much explorers and merchants as they were warriors and raiders. The longships were not built to be fast and agile only for the sake of warfare, but also in order to allow quick trips overseas for trading and to settle new areas. It was mainly because of the attack on the abbey of Lindisfarne in 793 that vikings were started to be viewed as "barbaric and relentless" for the next twelve centuries. :greenie:
