Does Ecutcha's come in +3?
+1, +2, +3. You really do need to learn your essential items.
+% Damage is for Fire and Lightning, ranging from 10 to 20% for each one separately.
That's not very nice... :(
But yeah, if it comes in +3, I may have to find one...do I dare ask what they traditionally go for?
2-3 hrs generally
And a High Rune is Um and up, right?
What I would use:
HELM
Harlequin Crest Shako
Defense: 98-141 (varies)
Required Level: 62
Required Strength: 50
Durability: 12
+2 To All Skills
+ (1.5 Per Character Level) 1-148 To Life (Based On Character Level)
+ (1.5 Per Character Level) 1-148 To Mana (Based On Character Level)
Damage Reduced By 10%
50% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items
+2 To All Attributes
OR
Rare circlet with +10-20 FCR, +2/3 Fire/Sorc Skills
To get resists out of the Shako, Um it. The Shako is really quite hard to beat, and the only thing missing from it is the FCR mod.
WEAPON
Eschuta's Temper Eldritch Orb
One-Hand Damage: 18 To 50 (34 Avg)
Required Level: 72
Durability: 30
Base Weapon Speed: [-10]
(Sorceress Only)
+1-3 To Sorceress Skill Levels (varies)
+40% Faster Cast Rate
+10-20% To Fire Skill Damage (varies)
+10-20% To Lightning Skill Damage (varies)
+20-30 To Energy (varies)
If you find one with +3, 20%, 30, you're smurfing lucky, and a killing machine.
BELT
Arachnid Mesh Spiderweb Sash
Defense: 119-138 (varies)(Base Defense: 55-62)
Required Level: 80
Required Strength: 50
Durability: 12
16 Boxes
+90-120% Enhanced Defense (varies)
Slows Target By 10%
+1 To All Skills
+20% Faster Cast Rate
Increases Maximum Mana 5%
Level 3 Venom (11 Charges)
No contest.
Mara's Kaleidoscope Amulet
Required Level: 67
+2 To All Skills
All Resistances +20-30 (varies)
+5 To All Attributes
OR
Rare or Crafted Amulet with FCR, 10-20+% All Res, and +2/3 Fire/Sorc Skills
The only thing that Mara's is missing that can be found elsewhere is a FCR and a higher +skill mod. However, a Crafted or Rare amulet of that type is exceedingly difficult to find.
RINGS
Stone of Jordan Ring
Required Level: 29
+1 To All Skills
Increase Maximum Mana 25%
Adds 1-12 Lightning Damage
+20 To Mana
OR
Rare ring with FCR, Resists, etc...
As Tav pointed out, Sorcs do not generally need life. You will benefit more from increased Mana than Life. The Shako gives you more Life than a BK ring does anyways.
A Rare ring with FCR may mean more damage, since you'll get in more spells of perhaps lesser damage than a slower cast rate of higher damage spells.
But the choice is yours. You don't need to hit the 200% breakpoint, but it's a lovely thing when you do.
SHIELD
Spirit
+2 To All Skills
+25-35% Faster Cast Rate (varies)
+55% Faster Hit Recovery
+250 Defense Vs. Missile
+22 To Vitality
+89-112 To Mana (varies)
Cold Resist +35%
Lightning Resist +35%
Poison Resist +35%
+3-8 Magic Absorb (varies)
Attacker Takes Damage of 14
You need one with +35% FCR. NEED.
ARMOUR
Chains of Honour
+2 To All Skills
+200% Damage To Demons
+100% Damage To Undead
8% Life Stolen Per Hit
+70% Enhanced Defense
+20 To Strength
Replenish Life +7
All Resistances +65
Damage Reduced By 8%
25% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items
OR
Ormus' Robes Dusk Shroud
Defense: 371-487 (varies)(Base Defense: 361-467)
Required Level: 75
Required Strength: 77
Durability: 20
+10-20 Defense (varies)
+20% Faster Cast Rate
+10-15% To Cold Skill Damage (varies)
+10-15% To Fire Skill Damage (varies)
+10-15% To Lightning Skill Damage (varies)
+3 bonus to a random Sorceress skill (Sorceress Only)*
Regenerate Mana 10-15% (varies)
OR
Skin of the Vipermagi Serpentskin Armor
+120% Enhanced Defense
+1 To All Skills
30% Faster Cast Rate
Magic Damage Reduced By 9-13 (varies)
All Resistances +20-35 (varies)
Ormus' Robes is better than CoH, but only if it has the correct attributes, which is completely variable and up to an insane amount of chance. CoH is much more secure, offers more defense and resists, and is not given to random skills and variables.
Skin of the Vipermagi is a nice armour for sorcs if they are poor, or can afford sacrificing skills and defense for FCR.
BOOTS
Whatever is needed to cover your weak spots (resists, Life, Mana, etc)
The only boots with FCR and resists are... well, they are only rare drops, and they are only fairy tales in all reality.
GLOVES
Magefist Light Gauntlets
Defense: 24-25 (varies)(Base Defense: 9-11)
Required Level: 23
Required Strength: 45
Durability: 18
+20-30% Enhanced Defense (varies)
+10 Defense
+1 To Fire Skills
+20% Faster Cast Rate
Regenerate Mana 25%
Adds 1-6 Fire Damage
Alternatively, a rare set of gloves with +2 Sorc/Fire skills, FCR would be best, but again, such rare items are nigh impossible to find.
At least with this pair of gloves, it's always going to grant you bonuses that you - being a Fire Sorc - can definitely use.
The only thing it's missing is resists/life/defense.
Any Vita/Serpent's Charms, FHR small charms, Shimmering charms, Fire Skillers, etc..
SWITCH
Call to Arms and a Spirit Shield
5 Socket Melee Weapons (Use a flail) *Thanks Tav
+1 To All Skills
+40% Increased Attack Speed
+250-290% Enhanced Damage (varies)
Adds 5-30 Fire Damage
7% Life Stolen Per Hit
+2-6 To Battle Command (varies)
+1-6 To Battle Orders (varies)
+1-4 To Battle Cry (varies)
Prevent Monster Heal
Replenish Life +12
30% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items
This makes living in Hell much, much easier, as it grants you and your merc a very large increase in Life and Mana.
Use a crap/any Spirit with the CtA, as you only want the Spirit for the +2 All Skills bonus.
MERC
Infinity/Insight
Fort/CoH
Dream/Delirium/Andy's/Vampire Gaze
Freeze Aura (Nightmare - Defensive)
You need crowd control. Slowing enemies down with a Holy Freeze aura and having a chance to cast Confuse/Mindblast is one of the best methods of doing so. Additionally, having a pulsing damage aura will cause the enemy to initially engage the merc, not you.
With this list, you could end up with quite a number of skills and bonuses to various attributes, but you haven't hit the high FHR or FCR breakpoint. However, you do have a lot of skills, and plenty of resists to survive almost without worry.
But this is only my opinion. I hope it helps.
I have a +2, +17% Lightning. Not quite the +3, but still better than Hoto is. High runes are Um only if the person wants them. Otherwise, disregard it. A good Eschuta's goes for 5 or more.
Nom, I think he's making a Lightning Sorceress. Also, I think Mulley may have an Ormus' Robes that I gave him. The +skills is on Telekinesis, but it's still got +percent damage. Also, CtA is a 5Os Runeword, not 4Os.
Mercs don't need CoH. Their resistance is already high enough with Fortitude. Your merc, however, will benefit the most from Infinity, not Insight as is the case with most spellcasters. This is because all enemies with Lightning Immunity can have it broken in Diablo II, and those enemies with Immunity are not often, either.
Also, his belt and gloves should play the same function as his boots, unless he has Arach's, simply because this is both a popular item, but it has a low supply. However, most will go with Magefist or Teang Oul's for the FCR and resistance on Trang.
Charms should cover whatever it is that you lack, or mass Lightning skillers.
Hmmm...seems pretty sound.
Oh, and all this is for my Fire Sorc, so that's my concern...bringing up the Lightning part just concerns the fact that Lightning is my secondary "survival" skillset.
Iunno...I may have a look at it...but to replace my armor, I'd have to replace a lot of things, as Tal's set will lose a TON of power in doing so.
I agree with Tav's opinion of Mercs: use an Infinity rather than an Insight.
You can always quaff potions when your Mana gets low, whereas you can't do much about Fire Immunes other than, well, flee or for sad amounts of Lightning damage. Also, your merc is then granted crushing blow (40%).
And I also agree with using Fort rather than CoH. Fort offers damage, but most importantly, high defense and a chance to cast Chilling Armor.
I personally like the Delirium helm for mercs most, as the chance to cast Confuse and Mindblast is rather beneficial, made even more so by the +2 All Skills mod, which raises the merc's aura.
It also offers high defense bonuses.
The only thing it is missing is Life leech.
Hmmmm...maybe I should go for an infinity. Once I break immunity, do I get full amount of Res Lowering, or does it remain at 1/5 of total amount?
Magefists offers increased Mana regeneration, which should speed up, ever so slightly your mana regen.
What is unfortunate about -enemy resistance is that the hit only applies to the mercenary. 55% would help, but once you have 50k Lightning, that's not much of a problem.
Lifesteal shouldn't be too much a problem, especially because with a pure Lightning Sorceress, everything except Ubers will be dead by the time they get onscreen. If you've got a good Smiter helping you out, everything will be dead.
As for a character revamp, it shouldn't be too hard to find what you need, seeing as we are all one big family here, we should have, if not optimal, sufficient equipment.
Once immunity is broekn, then the remaning minus resistance works at 1/5 capacitiy. For example, if I had -150% Lightning resistance, and an enemy has 130% Lightning resistance, it would chop off 30 to bring it below 100%, then the remaning -120% would be divided by five, 24%, and subtracted from 100%, leaving your total resistance at 76%.
But once your damage exceeds 10k (which is possible even with base skills), that's 25% of 4 to ~10000, 1 to ~2500 per shot, at 2 shots per second, for 4 seconds on a typical enemy. An average comes out to 1250*2*4. An impressive amount, even for Final Fantasy standards, but as we know, Diablo characters would own Final Fantasy, even on their own system. Frenzy wins Sephiroth. It's been proven.
What would you say is the most insane build?
This can be in terms of finding correct items, dmg output, tanking abilities, how much of an irony or oxymoron the build is on paper, etc...
Blessed Hammers, actually. The only thing that might surpass it in pure damage is a Frenzy Barbarian with Axes, or a Smiter because of stunlock.
With level 20 Hammers, synergies, and Concentrate, the damage is instantly boosted to 10k, minimum and maximum. If you got Offensive Aura Grand Charms, the damage would go upwards of 30k. Skill equipment could easily get it to 40k, and unlike elementals, they ignore defenses (if not deal extra) of Demons and Undead, and are fallible only to Magic-Immune animals (anything not a demon or undead).
BtV claims that Concentrater Barbarians are nigh unkillable.
Each of the elemental Sorceresses have their own style of ownage. Fire can attack extremely fast, Lightning does the most damage to the most enemies, and Cold is very easy to use.
Dragoons bring FF and DII together, and as we all know, FF fails to DII. However, in dueling, Dragoons are very effective with their Knockback from Leap.
Whirlwind received over 10 nerfs since its inception, and is still a very popular build.
Corpse Explosion used to be rigged, and it still is.
Trap Assassins are newbie, since you lay down some traps and wait for a bunch of dead enemies. Go bake a cake, look after some children, burn your hand and get rushed to the hospital, come back, and you're standing in a fire doing 5 damage a second, and you're somehow, still alive. If only this worked in real life.
Necromancers are kind of meh, but Summoners do uber-lag, which is a gift in and of itself. The gift of EXP loss.
Druids win you. End of discussion. Shapeshift. Wind. Summoning.
Strafers are like Barbarians, but are ranged, and kind of suck. But they are blonde, and we all know that blondes have more fun. Their Valkyrie cohorts usually go somewhere and do something. They also get Lightning Strike Amazons, which are like Lightning Sorceresses.
There are some non-conventional builds, such as Singing Barbarians, Golem Necromancers, Melee-sins, Charger Paladins (dueling), Vengeance Paladins (no longer viable past Nightmare), Energy Shield Sorceresses, Hydra Sorceresses, Fire Druids, Elemental Amazons, and many more!
Im contemplating making two new characters... one a Melee-assassin and a hammerdin. What's your suggestions in building since I have, in fact never built either? Gear preference skill plans etc. Any help appreciated.
Might come back tomorrow, too lazy to install it right now(actually, too tired) and I need to login my chars so they don't get expired. I might just make a new char.
I knew Sorceresses could deal up to 64k damage, but was unaware of the fact that Hammerdins could get up to 40k damage per hammer...
It's no wonder such a build is extremely popular.
EDIT: I want to make a build that gives the following reaction:
"LOL, wut?"
And then surprise them by being viable in Hell difficulty. Do you believe it possible to make a build of that sort?
It's installed. Lost about 20 HR's(due to mule expiring) but other than that, everything is good.
As for whoever was trying to make a sorc, I have an item you'll want, but I'm not sure if it's free or not. It's quite valuable.
+2 sorc skills
+20%FCR
+18 Strength
+55 HP
+59 MP
all res +23
Define "Item" please. What category? Weapon?
Sounds like an Ammy to me.
This is the best Sorc ammy you can get, it's even better than perfect mara's.
Inquire further, please. I have a Ko, and a couple Hels if the help sway said person.
Sorry man, this ammy is rare, and has possibly some of the best stats any sorc would want.
Incase you're wondering, it's an Armageddon Fletch.
I need a transfer, anyone.
3 hrs then? xD
That's what I meant, Cim...I can't expect someone to trade without offering a contribution at least.
:c) It's not like I have a use for them at this point.
If you're offering, I'm happy for it, but if you'd like, I'll put you one Ko closer to a Sanctuary.
[EDIT] Tonight that is...can't access from work...:p
Christ that's a nice amulet...
Indeed.
Just out of curiosity, was anyone gonna give me any pointers on those chars? :/
I only made one small, feeble attempt at a Hamerdin, and have never even touched the Assassin character.
So I can't help much.
I do know that many Hammerdins seem to use HOTO.
Just type in google what you're looking for and you'll find it, for example " Diablo II kick sin guide" "diablo II hammerdin guide".
I found the robes if anyone's interested.
I'll pass on the Robes, thanks...
Didn't you listen to anything we said about damage?
Anyways, Hammerdins, relatively easy to play with and to build. Unfortunately, you do need Baal runs for this build to get anywhere in the game at all.
Order of skill maxing:
Requisites
Vigor
Hammers
Concentrate
Blessed Aim
Holy Shield (as far as possible)
Defiance (optional)
Your equpment should focus around +skills for Paladin skills. The usual, really. Enigma, Shako, FCR rings, Amulet, Boots, Gloves, Belt, and all of that good stuff.
As for melee-sins, I don't have too much experience with them. However, SRL made one.
All I know about Melee-sins, which is pretty elementary, is BEWARE IRON MAIDEN!
Yeah, that's just it. +2 Firebolt, Meteor and Fire Mastery alone outclasses the bonus given by the armor by a long shot, let alone the flat out 2 additional levels to Fireball.
Unless I'm missing something, which is entirely possible. If so, please tell me.
It is more for Lightning, oddly enough. The LCS isn't the first place to start.
Neither does CoH.
FCR > +2 skills for fire sorc. Not to mention the +11% fire makes it less noticeable that you're missing +2skills.
Point of fireball/bolt is to shoot them fast.
In addition, it would appear that you have told me that you actually have skills invested in the Lightning techtree as well. This is not a good thing. The +% is your friend, especially since Fire Sorcs rely most on FCR.
Thanks for the tips, Tav. You too GG. Even if it is elementary, it doesn't change how true it is. ;)
Well, I'll be working on those characters tonight if anyone might be interested in helping with a rush. (For forge of course)
Hey Tav, next time we're on together, would you happen to have a spare Infinity, perchance?
I'm playing a Spear Amazon right now, so if anyone finds any nice low-level spears, please let me know.
I may have a couple Mid grade ones...I'll look when I get home.
I don't use Infinity, and you should know why by now.
I've got a Dragon Chang unique and some other stuff.
Also, is this build going to be based on the actual Spear skills, such as Jab and Impale, or Thunder Strike, etc?
It's going to be strictly Spear, no Javelin skills. As for the Spear skills, I plan on mostly the thunder skills, with a few thrown into Fend for good measure.
I'll get on in a minute.
Today, I was testing a variation of the Lightning Melee Sorceress I plan on building, when what do I find, a perfect smurfing Maras. Oh, wow, that's nice, I found another one, but this time it's on Single Player...
Dammit. Stupid Single Player.
Wow, your Luck rating just shot down by 50 points out of 99. Use a Potion of Greed!
BTW did you know that I've posted more than the next two combined? I'm so pathetic.
But that only lasts 20 seconds...
Too bad.
I should actually try building my Sorceress now...
I ought to be on late tonight, if that's of any real news...
EDIT: I found some Titan's and a Gheed's if anyone wants them.
Would someone be able to come on so I can xfer some stuff?
I am going to redo my Aura-based Summoning Necromancer. I believe it would be best if my Mercenary held an Infinity polearm, rather than a pride one. Instead, I plan to do something terribly risky:
Make a Pride Iron Golem.
The risks are terribly great, as pride is NOT a cheap runeword. If I or my Iron Golem perish, my Pride weapon will melt away...
According to the Necromancer Pet Calculator, I ought to be able to summon an Iron Golem with around 9.8k base life in Hell mode at around clvl 80 (giving me enough points to max Golem Mastery, and place a point in Summon Resist). Truly, I won't see any real use of a Pride Iron Golem until this stage of the game, so I believe it ought to work relatively well.
Before, I've only used Iggy as an Insight fount, and he didn't last very long as I had chosen to initially try a Fire Golem set up instead. But I believe a much more focused approach would give me a very stable, strong Iron Golem.
Due to his low damage attacks, he shouldn't kill himself instantly when under the effects of Iron Maiden (Unlike my damn merc...). Iggy also has a natural resistance of 50 Lightning and 100 poison, which will prove most beneficial when dealing with Lightning Enchanted monsters such as Scarabs, or when facing the infamous Black Souls.
Really, my only concern after pumping points into Golem Mastery ought to be how I am going to keep myself alive. There are many left over Skill Points when building a Summoner Necromancer, so I am thinking of placing 1 point in Bone Armour and the rest in its respective synergies. At around clvl 80, I ought to be around the 500 damage absorb mark.
This may fall flat on it face and I will be one precious Pride runeword less, but there is too much of an allure in having Conviction AND Concentration at work. My Skeletons will kill faster as they hit 50% more often, and have a lovely boost in damage output from the wandering Pride Iron Golem, and my Corpse Explosion will receive the bonuses of Conviction as well (since half of its damage is Fire based).
I guess we'll see how it works.
NOTE: I've recently discovered that summoned minions will keep the stats that they are granted from whatever items they were initially summoned with. This means that if I use King Leoric's Arm and Spirit/Homo to summon minions and then switch to my Beast and Spirit/Homo set-up, the skeletons will still benefit from the +Skeleton Mastery and other bonuses found on the wand. Same can be said of any item. It seems that although I may lose the amount of skeletons, their damage, AR, and life stats remain.
I simply found this interesting, and suspect it's also true for Druid Summoners, and perhaps even the Amazon's Valkyrie and Assassins Shadow Summons benefit from similar effects.
Those Runes were all yours. Go for it. Assuming that Polearms, runeword or not, can be converted to a Iron Golem. Be prepared to be make very fast Exits from the game.
Also, beforewarned that Iron Golems do not take every property of an item, for example, Iron Golems are not invincible when the Indestructible mod is found on an item. I do not believe that Iron Golems take Auras, either, but I could be wrong.
I have tested it, and they do in fact take on the properties of auras. Whether or not it will receive the other bonuses on the Pride runeword or not is up in the air, but from making an Insight Iron Golem once before, it does make a minion with an aura.
I have heard rumour of Iron Golems just simply vanishing for no apparent reason between games, which is something that puts me on edge.
Being PK'd is most likely my worst fear, however...
Of course, but on one occasion that I recall quite vividly, myself and a few others were PK'd abruptly. Those who were also slain were quite confused, as there seemed to have been no Hostile message.
However, this has only occurred on one single instance. Those who PK often display certain tendencies anyways, so if I simply remember to remain observant, I ought to be fine - for the most part.
Usually it would be simply annoying to be PK'd, but now it would be tragic.
It's called a hack or a bot program. Get used to them.
People suck.
They do suck...
My Homonculus was apparently a dupe, and so it disappeared on me today.
I swear, nothing is perm...
LOL a duped Homo. That's quite new, actually.
Anyways, as we all know, +3 Trap skills on an Assassin claw are the best type of weapon for a character. As such, make sure everyone keeps an eye out for these. +Skills claws also work.
I've been largely absent due to me playing Median alot more recently, so if you're ever on, let me know.
Sacred Sets are sex
I can create a new account without fear of the other one disappearing, correct?
Yeah, just make sure you keep up with your accounts to make sure nothing expires.
I just found Eschuta's Temper. It's etheral, but if you're using this to whack enemies then you don't deserve it anyway. :p
Hmm.
Mullet ftw
This request comes from Cruise Control via AIM.
I should hope so, otherwise, I will have 6 accounts worth of stuff to be expired.
That's not a good thing, especially since the oldest two have been around since 2003 and 2004, respectively.
That tops my current Escutcha's by a long shot!
I am requesting a rush whenever anyone is willing to do so.
I am going to be at work until 11 at least, I don't know if anyone will be on before then.
I miss you guys... :c(
The Trapsin looks quite intriguing...
Fellow Diablo players, what are your thoughts on this build?
Sounds like it's worth a shot.
Newbish, because all you do is click a few times, and everything dies.
However, it owns like WTF. But newbish.
I sometimes like being a nubcake, Tav
13k damage is too hard to ignore
Anya and I will soon become very, very good friends, just as my Bone Necro and Drognan also are.
It recently received two updates, 1.50 and 1.51. It's getting nice, as I received a large number of higher level runes from Maxx Power. My Elemental Druid is capable of dealing close to 10k with all of his elemental attacks (except Poison), and can kill effectively on [/players 8].
No major spellcaster uniques, though, I did find a Sacred level throwing axe. It seems like runewords are the way to go, and I'm almost ready to choose an uberskill, but I haven't touched Median in the last week, and Maxx has largely been occupied elsewhere.
EDIT: By the way, have I been owning for the last week, or what? Epic gains in the Elections, high grades in my Spanish and History classes (Honors III and AP US)! And I just recently owned this poor, unfortunate newb, not once, but twice!
Just so everyone knows, I have two new accounts:
Nominus_Experse
Molgathos
So when you notice that these accounts have added you as a friend, realize that it is me.
What are +3 ammys for a single skill tree worth, if anything?
In my experience, they don't seem to go for much, unless there are other useful mods on it, such as strength, dex, resists, FCR, etc...
But I am bad at trading...
I played today! And then I almost died in a hard core game of basket ball.
I NEED Frostburns
Please, if anyone has them... NEED...
I think I have them.
I should have plenty of pairs of those. Ask SRL for them.
The Frostburn thing has been covered.I like candy.
I just discovered that my Assassin can run from the Frigid Highlands WP to Harrogath's WP in exactly 56 seconds.
Who wants to race me? Maybe your Frenzy Barb, Tav?
VVRRROOOOOM
(SPOILER)I am bored
My Hammerdin and Wind Druid can get there in less than three, if I turn on my Teleport hack.
By the way, Frenzy Barbs need a kill, and it only lasts for six seconds after.
Teleport hack? I'm intrigued.
And yes, I realize it would be in 6 second bursts, but my god are they fast during those 6 seconds!
EDIT: Holy :skull::skull::skull::skull:, i just found out that Khalim's Will is just pure sex for starting characters.
I'll be on late tonight :cD
Cim and I are going to race each other through the Blood Moor
Ok, I'll be on late tonight and I'm apparently going to race Mr. Nom.
DEAR GOD, DOUBLE POST I DEMAND AN XFER!
How about not?
I won the footrace
SRL got second, and Cimjust suckedgot third.
Also, note that Infinity is now my favourite runeword. Skeletons hit more often, corpse explosion does 100% more damage when Amp is on; the enchantress is unstoppable; and traps are wicked, terrible things.
Mara can't seem to leave me alone. I found my third perfect Mara's today.
EDIT: WTF! I defeated the Ancients and I didn't level up?
I will also murder him, although I will do so with much more cunning and skill than the rest of you.
I love Mara. We're not going to end our relationship due to greed. I am hurt that you guys think I would be so base concerning my relationship with her.
I found an Arreat's Face and Ormus' Robes in one drop. This seems to have made B.net very upset and so it kicked me out...
EDIT: Yay, just one horn away from facing the Ubers!
I rule so much. With less than 170 mf I have found another SOJ, but this time it was much more satisfying. It dropped after I killed Diablo. In normal.
smurf you
Coming from Mr. Three Perfect Mara's?
I can't believe you'd say such a thing, Nom, what's happened to our friendship?
The ring will destroy us!
Yes, the only answer is to destroy it by throwing it into the fires of Mount Doom. Mount Doom also happens to be my stash. ;)
LoTR nerds!
It booted me out before I could pick them up. Apparently Mephisto doesn't want Ormus to know who stole his robes...
What teleport-hack do you use, Tav? If it's hush-hush, then simply PM me - if even you want to give it up.
I couldn't even if I tried. The Google gods are holding me.
And the lurking viruses are keeping my search at bay.
Who wants to uber with me?
I guarantee you that no one here can actually successfully Uber.
We'll see
Solo, without dying? No one here can do that.
If killa's on, have him help you, and make sure you make all of your portals away from the stash.
As soon as I have my necro at a high enough level say 80 Nom and I are going to try :cD
I need to delete an entire account.
I will need a massive xfer.
EDIT:SRL helped me xfer about a 1/3 of my stuff before I mysteriously lost connection. I wasn't even given a realm down, so I don't know what exactly it means.
EDITRA: It is now complete. Thank you SRL.
The rest of B.net can go smurf itself.
You know - now that I have cooled down a bit, and am better able to take things in a much more controlled, appropriate manner - I am really quick thankful for being able to play and trade with you guys. I've yet to meet any of you, much less even see you, and yet... I trust you with what is sometimes hours of work/chance. Time and time again.
I don't know, maybe this isn't actually that rare, but I do realize now that what we have here - this little group of us - is something I've come to enjoy and cherish in some ways. It's a game, yes, but being able to trust and relate to other people I've never formally met... Well, it's nice.
I just want to say thanks - for everything.
Y'know, I got thinking about that very fact a ways back myself. I've trusted each person in this thread to xfers where I've unloaded dozens of items I've never seen before, trusting you guys implicitly. I'm happy I'm able to do that.
And I love this group because no one misses any missing items when they xfer... :p
And the fact that Mullet still hasn't discovered the program I embedded in an item that gives me access to all his banking information. Thanks for the new Bentley, man!
Just as long as you don't forget that B&B tour in it that you promised me.
While I am equally grateful that I can transfer without worry, I am even more grateful for the fun times I've had playing with everyone.
Even if I lost my entire account to the gods only know what, I'd still play, I'd start an entirely new account just to play with you all.
I was thinking that it may be beneficial if we had a list that was updated weekly of our "loan" inventory. What I mean by this is that we would have all have a list saying what items we have that we're not currently using, and so are perfectly able to be borrowed or had.
However, some people here have far too many items, and so this may simply be impossible, but it's a thought. I would be willing to do it, if anyone wants it.
I'm taking inventory of my mules and the like, so it's really no difficulty to me. Simply time-consuming, and I happen to have far too much time at the moment.
In a way, yes, Tav.
How many mules do you have again?

Good heavens...
We do love you for it though :P
Cim, what is your planned Skill layout for your summoner? I need to know whether or not to make a summoner that will invest in Clay Golem or Iggy. If you go with a Clay, I'll make a Pride Iggy.
I'll also see if I can get us some Summoning Charms. Having 72 Skellies between us might make the Ubers groan.
I was simply going to use a fire golem
I like when they explode xD
I really won't make a list of what I have, if you want it ask here.
If it's a rune word, I probably have the high runes available to just let you make it.
Whenever I trade, I trade for high runes, unless I'm trading hrs for other items.
And as for my summoner, it's just going to be skels mostly, and then a bad ass fire golem. I'll see what skills I have left when I get that far. I should know by 75 what other things I'm going to invest in.
If you want to see how badly you can lag the game, my summoner can join up sometime too. He has 26 skeletons and skeleton mages.
Right now I only have 17 but I'm still only 45
But just wait until he can wear all the gear I've set out for him xD
I'll also work on summoning charms
We need at least one Clay Golem to absorb damage and slow the Ubers down. Having a 48000 Life, 25% Physical Immunity, and a 72% Slow effect Clay Golem tanking is rather beneficial - if not outright required.
A Fire Golem will attract the enemy, which will destroy us in Uber Tristram. Additionally, the explosion of the Fire Golem does not inflict enough damage to be useful - unless you're a helpless, frantic Poisonmancer with nothing left.
Basically, here is a list of what we need when going to the Ubers:
Urdar/Gorebelly/Mauler revives
Terror Curse
Decrepify Curse
Clay Golem
Infinity
Guillaume's Face Winged Helm and a VERY high resist helm (Such as Kira's Guardian
Tiara) for mercenary
HOTO and Homonculus
CtA
Max resists on us
Teleport
When we plan to make our Uber game, we need to check both the River of Flame, Frigid Highlands, and Durance areas to see if they have a number of Gorebellies/Urdars/Maulers. We wish to revive these creatures since they house a 25% chance of Crushing Blow, along with a Smite attack. The size of these Revives also allow us to blob very effectively.
We need Terror in order to drive whatever minions the Ubers spawn away from our summons. If the summons focus on each Uber, it ought to drop quickly; however, they are easily distracted, and so this often over-looked curse comes into play.
Decrepify is an obvious curse. It does everything we want it to do: slow them by 50% - which when coupled with the Clay Goelm, ought to have us reach the 95% breakpoint - make them more vulnerable to physical attacks, and evens weakens their melee attacks. The Ubers will be at a standstill.
The Clay Golem is needed in order to slow the Ubers. It also has a gargantuan amount of life. Given that this golem also has a 25% physical immunity, it can tank for eons. It is not uncommon to see Clay Golems with upwards of 48000 life.
Infinity is needed on the mercenary because it does two things: it lowers the enemy's defense, allowing our minions to make connecting hits 50% more often, but also houses a very large amount of Crushing Blow. The secret to slaying the Ubers in an effective manner lies in Crushing Blow.
Guillaume's Face Winged Helm and a VERY high resist helm (Such as Kira's Guardian
Tiara) are needed to reach incredible resists on our mercs for when facing Mephisto, and to also come as close as we can to reaching the 90% chance of Crushing Blow breakpoint.
In essence, we want to make our merc invincible. So bring on the etheral-bugged armour and let us make some mad Forts/Duresses/CoHs!
HOTO and Homo are needed in order for us to achieve a respectable amount of resists. With a few charms, we ought to be maxed.
CtA is needed so that our minions and mercs won't die, but most importantly, so that we don't die ourselves.
Teleport is a given. It controls our minions, and lets us blob effectively.
I like fire golem xD Not to worry, I shall only have one point in all of the golems and I shall invest a few points into golem mastery.
As for you questions from the game:
Homonc=58
Don't bother with strength points, I have rings that give 10, 15 and 20 strength for you to use.
A dusk shroud has 118 or so as its strength requirement.
I have decided that we should use a pincer effect when the time comes versus simple attacking from the same side. But, keep in mind, running through the middle is not advisable as it summons the enemies. They'll come at my golem and when he's about to die I'll resummon him in the middle of the largest group of enemies and then again immediately after. This has worked for me on countless occasions. Of course, not during Ubers. I have only been present for 2 uber runs. One was my own with the help of Killa. The other I don't remember much because I was just sitting there in town.
Anyway, we will deal with all that as the time comes. I am still only 47 and will be that way for at least until next weekend. Or Sunday when I get back, I'm not sure the condition I will be in at that point.
I ought to be around level 80 by then, so I can rush/power-level you by doing Uber Duiel runs.
I'd say I'm in, but I don't know if I have the power to pull it off...
Do the Ubers have that ungodly regeneration that Uber Diablo did?
I'd join, though the only char I have at a decent level is my Necro and that might be just too many Skellys since mine would add another 26ish... then again, that might be half the fun. :p
We should make a game of all summoners. With an average of 26 skellys per character, 8 golems, 8 mercs and the characters themselves we would have 224 bodies on the screen. Add in god knows how many summons and we could get close to 400 bodies on the screen. xD
We should get 7 necros and a fanata pally, because with all of the merc auras plus fanata would be joyous.
OMFG that would be so much fun.
8 players
8 Mercs
8 Golems
26-36 x 8 Skeletons (If every Skeleton hits, that's around 259200 damage "per swing")
20 - 25 x 8 Revives
8 Oak Sages
It wouldn't be impossible to get 500 bodies on the screen - just between us.
We would get a c/i so swiftly it wouldn't even be funny.
...
Anyways, I have found numerous holes in your plan.
Urdar class enemies don't always spawn.
Ubers are resistant to slow and Decrepify, so it's not worth considering. Stun is reduced to a very minimal amount, so you need repeated stuns.
Infinity doesn't do crap so long as their resistances are above 100%, and the key to killing Ubers isn't CB, which is minimalized against the Ubers, but rather, Stun. All Conviction Auras are nullified as long as Mephisto's remains intact, unless yours is of a higher level.
The only armor your Mercenary should use is Fortitude.
I will agree that your resistances will suck without Hoto.
CtA should only be used by one person, and that is the person who has the highest total skills bonus, and a +6 BO CtA.
Teleport may be good, but beware all AoE attacks. of which the Ubers have plenty of.
Dusk Shrouds have a 77 Strength requirement. Archon Plates are 103.
A pincer attack won't work, unless you have a target that can move at will, and lure everyone away. In essence, you really wanna get one of the Ubers alone from the others, and run.
Ubers do not have regeneration. They do, however, have HP.
Do not use multiple Oak Sages. You only need one. Same with Auras: deversify, and let only the strongest be active, unless you have two of comparable strength.
also, for damage per swing, I do beleve that you forgetting a very vital piece of the puzzle: defense. Defense factors in per hit. Also, difficulty scales per player in game; if you have eight summoners, much less one, that will cause a very major occasion of lag, where every second spent alive is crucial, not that you can react.
So really, the most effective party would be:
Zealadin (for Fanatcism) or Avenger (for Conviction)
BO Barbarian
Smiter (you need stun, DESPERATELY)
Druid (Oak Sage)
Trapsin (no, really?)
3 Summoners
Oddly enough, I have three characters on three accounts capable of fulfilling that role. However, should I choose to develop my second Frenzy Barbarian, it would be even MORE effective, but nah. If I ever feel like telling SRL to develop my Frenzy Barbarian on Rothinzil, I'll let him know.
BAH! Who cares, if things get really out of hand, we'll call killa, or we'll just play for a while in that game racing and dueling and what not.
Two Summon necros guaranteed, come now, tell me that won't make a wonderful duel.
I would say it would be a glorious bloodbath, but there's no blood. :(
There could be, I propose that we all get together in any city, bringing a variety of Middle Age weaponry and lay waste to the city.
It would be fun to try and battle the NPCs, just like other MMORPGs.
A Smiter is not the only source of stun. With a few more levels to my Singing Barb and the last few items I want for him, I will be able to cast a 7+ second stun, and he already has enough fcr to hit the 8 frames per second cast rate. Even if the Ubers reduce stun length substantially, if the stun will last for longer than 8 frames I cause a stun lock (or I will be able to). Also, my barb currently has a level 33 BO on weapon switch.
But can the Ubers be stunned? Their act boss counterparts cannot be stunned (doesn't mean they can't, I'm just saying).
Yes, they can be Stunned, otherwise, Smiters would be useless, and Zealers or Frenzy would rule Uber.
Smite Stun does normal damage and Stun to all, but War Cry affects Champions and Uniques at a reduced rate of 33%. Uber usually reduce things even further, but I don't think anyone has bothered to bring a Singing Barb to an Uber fight. Barbarians hold the longest Stun possible coming from their Stun attack.
Recant. Check chart. War Cry is reduced versus Uniques and Champions, but Smite is not. Or maybe it is, but due to Fanatcism, the cooldown on each attack is < one second. Killa's Smite is quicker than Vanwa's Frenzy speed. FCR would likely be harder to fix versus IAS.
Stun does a 4.5 second Stun at level 20. (Barb)
Smite does 4.4 second Stun at level 20. (Pally)
War Cry does a 4.8 second Stun at level 20. (Barb)
Werebear; Maul does a 3.4 second Stun at level 20. (Druid)
Werebear; Shockwave does a 13 second Stun at level 20. (Druid)
Twister does .4 second Stun at all levels. (Druid)
After research, as it seems, a Werebear is the best idea to bring to a fight.
The Ubers only have around 3k Defense. You seem to be missing my intentions for Infinity, Tav. A summoner does not use Infinity in order to lower resists. He uses it to lower the enemy's Defense, which will allow his minions to strike that much more often.
Decrepify is effective against the Ubers. It also removes their 50% Physical Immunity.
No, Urdars and the like do not always spawn, which is why we will have to scout out the areas I mentioned in my previous post. If there are not any of these creatures in said areas, then we shall remake.
Having 8 Summoners would be suicide, and having 8 Sages would be pointless, as would having auras of the same type - the number of sages was only mentioned as a hypothetical number of bodies that could possibly be summoned between all of us. You know that Tav.
We're not so stupid to think having us all have the same aura would be effective.
I consider your lack of belief that a summoner necro can solo an ultimatum.
We shall see. I'll record my venture and post the link here when the time comes.
Eldritch forgot his Orb in the Worldstone Keep, apparently.... I'll keep it until he wants it back.
Wow, that's actually a very good Eschuta's (15% Lightning).
Ohh, by the way, Eschuta is a female, as the weapon is Sorceress only, and Sorceresses are clearly female. Therefore, Eschuta has to be a female, according to DII, not DI.
Infinity, for the Prevent Heal? Still needless, as HP regen isn't quite nearly as high as Lilith's. Also, the -55% Lightning doesn't work until their Convictions are both overridden and resistance broken.
Also, I do highly doubt a Summoner can do it. If you want to do it on 1-player and record it, be my guest. You'll need a mod. No ITH items, Ogre Rings, Ogre Gloves, Ogre Amulets, please; regular Uniques and Runewords. Ladder-only are acceptable.
Hmm, never knew that about Eschuta. A shame it wasn't the 20% that it's capable of being....
Such little faith you have. Why would he need a mod? What is ITH, and what are Ogre items (maybe if I knew I would understand your restriction)?
YouTube - Fast Necro Tristram Run
And that's just one, there are several.
So I am right - it can be done with a summoner. The player in that video used almost an identical strategy I am planning.
Diablo looks like he'll be the worst of the 3.
I like how there were no spawned enemies the entire time until Baal and Diablo. I remain skeptical.
I also like how the Necro in the game had what, 8 GCs? You've got approximatly the same items, so I'll give you that. But what you don't have is a pre-owned Annihulus, NTorch, and Arach's. Skills matter.
Ogre items are white items in one player that are hacked items from the Realms, containing superior mods, such as +all skills, +resistance, +walk/run speed, +FCR, +IAS, and others all at the same time. ITH items are also bugged items, involving messed up runewords, and the rune Ith (how ironic?). They make you invincible.
Dear me, people can actually do that?
I thought you had played Diablo II online before, Cim.
Never
Obviously not.
I'll get Nom and myself a Necro torch this weekend, my plans have been canceled.
Why were they canceled?
Because my job refused to give me the day I required off so that I may attend the MANDATORY Marine function for the weekend. So to say the least, I'm afraid my recruiter may be in for some trouble on my part. Before you suggest that I quit my job, let me say this: I need it for extra credits. Not for classes, but for graduation credits. I played around too much tenth and eleventh grade and am short two credits. Credits I will have if I keep this job until June 8th.
Wow, wtf:
Error 22: A critical error has occurred while initializing DirectDraw.
WTF
There seem to be alot of errors.
Haha, that is the only error I've seen so far.
My copy of Diablo will randomly close sometimes, with no error message(s) to even mark its sudden suicide.
At first I thought it might be due to a safety feature in Map Hack, but it performs a phantom Alt+F4 without MH on - and even in Single Player.
Hasn't happened for a while, but when it does, it's rather difficult to take in without a little bit of WTF?
Also, is there a mod that allows one to reach Uber Tristram in Single Player? I've checked Google and the Phrozen Keep, but I can't seem to find one. I'm sure there's one out there.
It'd be nice to emulate the necromancer I have now - to see if it's actually possible for me to make a run yet.
I HATE ANYA. She had a claw with +3 Traps, but it had other, crap mods on it... Worse than the HOTO I'm currently using.
Drognan was nicer to me....
EDIT:
I now officially want to have sex with Nihilthak...
http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/9...shot004pu2.jpg
Why? Cause you suck?
Is that real, and was it on the realms?
BTW I hate you.
I found it last night while doing key runs.
I promptly orgasmed and then died, but my body continued to flail about in a frantic frenzy of joy and incomprehension.
And yes, I would hate myself if in your position. 158 MF FTMFW!
At least I can take solace in the fact that without my help you would be nowhere.
You suck.
It seems as though every time I claim that Nom does not have an item, it will magically appear to him.
So you don't have a Crown of Ages. Any good character needs one of those.
LAWL, it does seem that way. Yes, keep saying I don't have a Crown of Ages. I've yet to even see one of those.
And yes, Tav, I believe it all started with Enigma....
Enigma is one of them overpowered Runewords.
SOMEONE PLEASE GET ON, I NEED TO TRANSFER!!
Enigma...
It transformed me from a nubcake to a lucky bastard.
What can Enigma do for YOU?
Well, what am I supposed to do now? :c\
Apparently every good char needs one.
The REAL CROWN OF AGES will not suffer such ignorance, Cim!
http://www.ggd2.com/coa.jpg
Nom, did you find that CoA or is that a screenshot of someone else's?
If you did, then dear God, man.
xD Oh, crown of ages. oops
I saw "crown of" and thought oh! this is it.
And yes, Tav, that's a screen shot. That's why it's got a regular buckler and nothing else.
Floating boxes FTMFW!
YTMND - Diablo 2 - You may not pass
My feelings on that Jerhynashasndhashasdh dumb ass
LOL
I need to redo my Enchantress...
This makes three now...
Why?
I placed too many points in Strength and Dexterity
How many is too many?
Enough to star over it would seem.
For a Sorceress, Life matter, so if it's probably more than five above where it should be for either one, that's enough.
Well, I'm back into playing this game. I'm running under the account LunarWeaver because I'm an inventive person and I like to outdo the last name I used. Sir Taffyforced me with threats of anal-hamstersasked me to give my info, and I did, so when he puts it up that will be that.
Since I'm just getting around again, I have a few builds I'd like to play around with. So if anybody is ever looking for a person to start from scratch with I'd be game for that.
Oh, Battle.net, how I've missed thee. I'd forgotten just how incredibly depressing all of earth's human population is without you *snuggle*
xD
I'm so excited!
New account, RebellionSoul
I know I promised to update this stuff iwthin the week, but that's not going to happen. School and all that, and I am currently rekindling my love for Sakura and Tomoyo of Cardcaptor Sakura. They are both smurfing hot, and I don't care what any of you have to say about it, because they are hot, and therefore, own you.
