Or you can name him Him, you, or he.
GENIUS!!!
I'm amazed. Never had I thought such joyful news would appear before me!
Awesome. :(
What if I name him

OR you could name him auron a strange tweist of fate huh!
You have some kind of love/hate relationship with Tidus, don't you?
Oh or name him Yuna
that would be fun!!!
Let's not stretch the tables or quote posts which do. Thanks gang.
Name him Rikku, then tell all your friends that you saw a scene where Rikku kisses Yuna. Why, when they find out the truth they'll crown you Prankster of the Year!
I just thought of somthing, name him jecht...a paradox i thikit is or irony?
I named him Jecht before on one of my playthroughs. I wouldn't name him Rikku, but I'd name him Riku.
ah kingdom hearts, nice! :D
is this turning into a competition where we need to find the best thing to name him, how about seymour!?
Seymour (tidus) : "do you love seymour? do you even like the guy?"
You could name him "I" or it would be funny to name him Chappu lol.
or Kimarhi
Yuna: Kimarhi doesn't say much
Kimarhi(Tidus): not say much? i never shut up you inconsiderate bitch!!!
=]
Or simply "Son of Jecht" or "Lady Yuna's Guardian". Even in X-2, people always refer to him in third person. :p
But I believe it's pronounced "Tee-duss" since his Japanese name is Tida (meaning "Sun" in the Okinawan dialect) and his voice-actor James Arnold Taylor also pronounces it as "Tee-duss" during interviews. :D
Name him 'Old man'.
Old man: 'I thought I sensed my old man there.'
Basically, you can hear his name spoken if you use any word or name in FFX's script.
But with Sir Guardian, Shelinda was referring to him like it was his actual name like Yuna refers to Auron as Sir Auron. That's kinda what I meant with my post.
Call him: Guy from Kilika
Bickson
"Who are you supposed to be?"
Graav
"Ah, I remember him. Guy from Kilika."
Just play Kingdom Hearts, Wakka calls him 'Tee-dus'. Though I've heard that in KH2, Selphie calls him 'Tie-dus'. It's a mystery that will never be explained.
when i frist when in Kilika after Yuna does the dance or whatever when i talk to this guy or girl whatever, They didn't talk with audio, juts with the words, he said his name
i don't care how it's properly pronounced, i'm still gonna call hbim tie-dus :D
i heard it on the commercial pronounced as tee-dus
maybe we should just name him "sin"
"Because he is never directly referred to by name during audible dialogue (but is referred to by name in text-only dialogue) — due to the player having the option to change his default name — the pronunciation of his name among fans is sometimes unclear. His name as featured in Final Fantasy X is pronounced "Tee-dus." This was confirmed in dialogue from Kingdom Hearts — which featured the character in a cameo — and by interviews with James Arnold Taylor, Tidus' English voice actor. More recently, this pronunciation was used by the narrator of the History of Final Fantasy featurette (included with Final Fantasy XII Collector's Edition) in the portion covering Final Fantasy X. In Kingdom Hearts II, however, Selphie Tilmitt pronounces his name "Tie-dus," which has led to more confusion amongst fans."-- a quote from wikipedia
So either way, it's pronounced 'Tee-dus' mostly, but I, however, will forever call him 'Tie-dus'. After all, I named my rat after him, and we pronounce my rats name 'Tie-dus' :D
This thread is way overdue for a snide remark.
You would think that these threads would have gotten boring the 5th time they were made.
Player 1: HOW U SAY TIDUS?
Player 2: TIE-DUS. LOLZ NOOB
Player 3: ZOMG THEY SAID TEEDUS IN KH.
Player 2: STFU BITCH YOUR WRONG ITS TIEDUS
Player 3: YOUS A HOE!
Player 2: YOUR MOMS A HOE!
Player 3: MY MOMS DEAD!
Kudos to KasaiDraco for an attempt at originality. But here's a tip, try to imagine what your thread wiill be about 15 posts later
Okay, I just started the thread because I actually talked to Shelinda the first time in Guadosalem and she called Tidus 'Sir Guardian' as Yuna calls Auron 'Sir Auron'. I just wanted to point out that if you would call Tidus 'Guardian' at the beginning, his name would be spoken.
I call him Ti-Duss.
Hard I as in Tin.
Seems like the logical way to pronounce his name...
In ffx no one has ever said tidus lol!
Nobody ever bothers asking his name anyway, so it makes sense that they don't know it.
Then those meanies had to go and retcon it in KH2 and pronounce it "Tie-dus" instead. Stupid Sqeenix.
I know that, but if you named him Guardian, he would be called Sir Guardian as if Guardian was his name.Quote:
In ffx no one has ever said tidus lol!
Right! Wakka's kiddie Jamaican accent was kinda cute!
But then again Selphie's meddling voice-actress had to spoil the facts.
And if I'm not mistaken, I've read somewhere that in the Japanese version's ending, Yuna will call out to Tidus pronouncing "Tidassu!" Sadly I can't tell whether it's fact or rumor. :mog:
Even if she did say Tidassu, it wouldn't mean anything. His Japanese name is ti-ida or チーイダ.
