Okay, I just started the thread because I actually talked to Shelinda the first time in Guadosalem and she called Tidus 'Sir Guardian' as Yuna calls Auron 'Sir Auron'. I just wanted to point out that if you would call Tidus 'Guardian' at the beginning, his name would be spoken.

Your right on how you pronounce it...I heard it sounded on Kingdom Hearts I, after you battle Wakka on Destiny Island in the beginning once or so... he says something about training with Tidus (pronounced Tee-duss).Or simply "Son of Jecht" or "Lady Yuna's Guardian". Even in X-2, people always refer to him in third person.
But I believe it's pronounced "Tee-duss" since his Japanese name is Tida (meaning "Sun" in the Okinawan dialect) and his voice-actor James Arnold Taylor also pronounces it as "Tee-duss" during interviews.

And if I'm not mistaken, I've read somewhere that in the Japanese version's ending, Yuna will call out to Tidus pronouncing "Tidassu!" Sadly I can't tell whether it's fact or rumor. :mog:

Even if she did say Tidassu, it wouldn't mean anything. His Japanese name is ti-ida or チーイダ.
