After playing FF12, I was satisfied with the game and its ending. It hearkened me back to the days of Frank Herbert and Stephen R. Donaldson...
Yet I have found perusing through these forums that most people are rather perturbed by the game and its ending. So I am wondering what would have satisfied the masses?
Penelo and ashe go gay together.
- Gabranth to live, spending time with his brother.
- Judges to live, supporting Larsa.
- Vayne to live, be reunited, helping his brother rule.
- Vossler to live, and be stood with Ashe at the end.
- Dr. Cid to live, and make amends with his son.
- The viera to soften their attitudes about their kind leaving the forest.
- Mjrn to be free to travel Ivalice.
- Reddas to live, and still be enjoying life, coping with past grievances with help from friends.
That's it I guess. I liked the current ending though.
Ashe not being such a bitch and actually TRYING to stay close to people that saved her life and her kingdom
People actually caring for the Kiltians and their refugee camp who gave their life to buy time for Ashe and the party
Larsa making amends to all that Vayne abused
Al Cid and Rosarria details we never saw.
It didn't need to be a "they lived happily ever after" but at least tying up some of the thousands of loose knots would have been good.
Hate the fact that you feel forced to buy RW to see the ending properly

I enjoyed FFXII's ending.
Judge Gabranth live. Basch & Ashe marry & both rule Dalmasca. Actually see Balthier & Fran alive in the ending video. Vaan & Penelo being more than just pirating partners. And getting to see some of Rozarria would have been nice too.

You have to remember, Ashe cannot really stay close to friends and such. She has to be Queen, she cannot be with the group like she used to. I know Garnet in IX seemed to be more carefree, able to keep her friends, but, this is a different time, where Ashe needed to focus on more important things.

This is a relatively minor point, but I would've liked it if Vaan's outfit had changed. I just thought it was weird that it didn't when Penelo's outfit did.

It would of been nice if Gabranth survived, because that's the only necessary thing that could of happened. Although I like Reddas best in the whole game, I think it was justified for him to save the party.

Yeah but nothing happens - they don't get married, or get together. It wouldn't work because look at the situation - Basch, is a judge magister, looking after Larsa, the Emperor. Ashe, queen of Dalmasca. How the heck can a relationship work when they're like countries apart?
I hope they don't make Basch a sissy in RW, and have him "falling" for Ashe. He always comes across as more of a guardian then a lover. I also hate Ashe btw.

Fair enough. I do agree that Ashe can be a bitch but in a way I also love that side of her. A strong, determined woman is a nice change from the sweet, unassuming, won't-hurt-a-fly teenybopper that we often get as FF heroines.Quote:

I wouldn't say a love relationship - I think because of the past, and how he was supposed to protect the princess, I think they've just grown closer as friends. Part of me thinks Basch wouldn't get married to her, because of the age difference, and the duties he has. I think his reaction was more of a surprise, but nothing more.
A Judge Magister married to the queen? It'd be the ultimate peace treaty if she was married to the Emperor haha x3
I liked the change of character for a heroine, and I'm starting to respect Ashe, but she still..well, bloody annoys me 8D!

I was pretty against her but I saw recently she had 8 brothers ahead of her in the line of the throne and lost all eight of them to war and disease. So I guess I can see how she became a bitch ;) She looked so much nicer when she was a kid!

i would like my ending cooked to rare and please add an extra pinch of salt and pepper.
I thought the ending was too boring and normal. It would better better to see how Ashe regained her place and see her speech and all. Then, they should let us see Fran and Balthier. They should even revive Rassler for the heck of it :tongue:

What is with all these lovey dovey ending ideas? Is romance really all that important? Besides, I think Ashe had more feelings for Balthier than Basch. The way she cried out for him in the ending... how can you not see it? Though oddly enough, I agree that Vaan's outfit should have changed as well.
Also, Renmiri... I don't think RW is going to be a continuation of XII's story. It's looking to be it's own seperate entity so I doubt anything you want from XII to be resolved will actually be resolved. Poor people of Mt. Burimasce:( Although XII does take place in a era of monarchy's and royal families and that does make me wonder if any of our own historical royales ever apologized for anything they did...
I don't remember Spain ever apologizing for wiping out a few nations, or England ever apologizing for the attacks on Panama, or even France apologizing for Napoleon's actions. Not to metion everything that Rome pulled.;)
I really think she was just concerned for a comrade that's about to sacrifice his life. The scene was a bit OTT but what do you expect? It's the ending, there has to be some screeching and loud explosions and whatnots. ;) I believe more what Penelo's letter hinted at that Ashe misses Basch.
