Is it just me, or is it that in most FFX fanfics and other general areas of the fandom, people like to put Rikku and Auron together?
Is it because they actually think the two make a good couple, or just because Rikku and Auron get left out when Yuna gets paired with Tidus and Wakka gets paired with Lulu? :confused:
...What do you think about them?
There is stuff in the game if you want to see it; Rikku is there when Auron gets his celestial, for example. Also, in X-2, Rikku is wearing a lot of Auron's armor and swords, just like Yuna has a lot of stuff that used to be worn by Tidus. I also think people just like to have a pair for Rikku, just because she is so popular and people don't like to think of her as being alone.
Auron and Lulu was always my hope, but meh...
I think Rikku and Auron could be the classic romantic couple: older mysterious if rather gruff man attracts lively, optimistic younger woman. I don't know about everybody putting them together though. Eg in fan fiction sites, Rikku/Auron pairings seem rare, and you get lots of comments about it being pervy.
I didn't notice about the armour in X2, that's really interesting! Of course they don't immediately hit it off. When Rikku says, "You don't get me at all, do you?" (in the Thunder Plains Agency) she's talking mostly to Auron, after his comment, "She's worse than the storm!" But that happens a lot in romantic novels.

i think that it more of an opposites attract kind of thing
Tidus and Wakka are both taken, and pairing her with a corpse is slightly less disgusting than pairing her with Kimahri.

I just thought that Rikku and Auron is sorta like Yuffie and Vincent, and tht got a huge following. but Yuffie and Vincent does seem less pervy than Rikku and Auron. i think its an interesting pair

Lulu's baby is actually Auron's.
I didn't think Vincent looked young to me. He may have been emotionally 15, but I'm sure he was at least 30. So, make Yuffie a couple years older, and it may not be illegal, but it's still wrong.
Same with Rikku and Auron.

Vincent was 27 if I recall well when Hojo experimented on him waaaaay back then. I'm not sure how old Sephiroth is supposed to be, most likely in his 20's, so by the time Cloud find him in the basement of ShinRa mansion, Vincent is in his 40's, probably even early 50's, but doesn't look a day past 27 due to his condition. He'd be old enough to be the father of half the cast, which makes the Yuffie/Vincent shipping particularly creepy. The 20 years old Playmate marrying the 80 years old billionaire type of creepy.
Now, Rikku and Auron... Not as creepy, despite the fact she's still a teenager and he's dead, yet... still creepy. I'm not a fan of pedophilia and necrophilia. And I'm even less of a furry fan, so I'd rather not imagine a Kimahri/Rikku pairing.
And don't get me started on the incestuous pairings. Squall/Laguna, anyone? *shudders* I've even seen Tidus/Jecth and Seymour/Anima. My eyes were bleeding without even reading the fics.

I actually don't discriminate with age. I don't mind the pairing, it's actually quite cute. :)
But that doesn't follow. Laguna is only ten years older than Squall. He must have been getting busy really young if that's true.

Yeah. I've made that Tidus/Wakka connection in several places on this forum. It's obviously that they want each other, I don't understand why they have to pretend they're not gay and go after Yuna and Lulu. They're only going to hurt the girls and possibly lead them to believe that it was the sex that turned them gay. I don't know how that feels, but it must be awful to be a girl that thinks she turned her man gay. They should just admit it. That's respectable.

I actually quite like the pairing, I can't think of it as necrophillia because Auron is not a decaying corpse he looks very much alive for 99% of the game. I've never heard of it, but I guess it use to be a thing. It's about one of the duller match-ups, but whatever floats your boat. Here is a clean pic of them together.

Auron always has a lot less grey hair in the pairing pics. I don't get it at all. I swear people just ship them because they're trying to match up everyone but nobody wants Kimahri to get any action.
Why does anyone put anyone together with anyone? Because "OMG they're so cute together!" A lot of crack ships out there don't work under logic, that's why they're called crack ships.
