Welcome to the second edition of EoFF Newlywed Game! I'm your host, [strike]Carnie Wilson[/strike] Shiny McHeiny. In lieu of Valentine's Day, I've decided it would be fun to host a few rounds of The Newlywed Game.

Like with the actual Newlywed Game (the original or the GSN version) the host asks three contestants a group of questions and the contestants have to answer it without their spouse there. Then, their spouses come back and have to answer the same questions based on how they think their spouse answered it. The winning couple will be whichever did the better job at answering the questions in a similar or same way their spouse did.

I'm going to PM the questions to the first 3 contestants and they are to PM their answers. I will then post the questions I asked them in this thread so their spouses can answer them. After each spouse has answered each question, I will then reveal the answers that the other spouses said. For every question answered correctly, a point will go to the couple. Questions will vary. They could be anything from multiple choice to fill-in-the-blank. Additionally, there will generally only be about 10 to 15 questions per round. I may change this each round depending on how active the contestants are.

As an fyi, some questions WILL be saucy, so if you're not fond of the heat from kitchen then don't stand by the oven, or something...I dunno.

1. If you sign up, you must have a partner to be paired with and their consent to put their name down as your partner. Pertains to Round Two only.
2. No cheating! This one is a given, but I thought I'd just say it here. This game makes it easy for people to cheat, but it would be no fun if people did as there wouldn't be any challenge to the game and unfair for people who are playing honestly.
3. Those who are not participating in the game can still post in this thread with their thoughts concerning the game, but cannot answer the questions. They also cannot help the contestants in any way inside or outside of the thread.
4. All PMed answers must be sent to me with an appropriate heading.

Round One: The first round will include a traditional set-up with three straight couples who have been paired for a certain amount of years or months. These couples have already been chosen and are listed below at the bottom.

Round Two: The second round will include same-sex only couples. Couples in the round two set-up do not actually have to be together irl i.e. those pretending that they're not together irl.

I have sent out the questions and have received the answers promptly. Round one will now officially start. This is more of a test round then anything to see what questions work best and give people a better idea of how this will go. I may change things a bit depending on this round pans out.

There are ten questions in this round. These set of questions are for the ladies i.e. Miriel, smittenkitten, and Nikki. I want to point out that for the directions one I would stop and ask for directions anywhere but my hometown. If I'm in my hometown I think it's pretty likely that I'll find a main street within minutes of getting lost and at that point I'd know exactly where I was. I spent 20 years in that city so I should be able to get around there without relying on locals. So it was that specific part of the question that caused me to answer that way. If it was just a general 'lost' question I would have answered A.

Yes, but the partners can not change their answers. I will be adding points after everyone responds. As of right now though it doesn't look like anyone has gotten all three bonus questions right.

Shlup's answers:

1) it was December 6, 1999, so only three days off. Considering how obnoxious the question is, that's actually very impressive.

2) I did have that for a bit way, way back when. I'm kind of surprised you didn't mention "Master of Past and Present," considering that was my title for the most part for something like 6 years.

3) Recently FFXIII is by far my most active FF forum, and probably has been for the past couple of months. It was not clear what the standards were for how we should answer (i.e., right now, recently, past year, forever), so I'll leave it at that.

Depending on how anal you want to be about the first question, I think Shlup did get all three right (at least deserves partial credit for the first one for getting within 3 days off the top of her head, which is probably part lucky and part creepy).

The first one I wasn't going to give any points to. I'm less lenient with bonus questions and I [strike]like[/strike] am anal. 2 points for #1.
