It will be one of my exceedingly few release day purchases. Provided I get all the obligations I have stacked up out of the way before then. Trying to power through all my junk this week. :)
i pre-ordered this and im sooo stoked to play it! :D
For months I felt nothing for this game, but two or three weeks ago the excitement switch went on for some reason. Pre-ordered yesterday, and it comes out the day before a huge research paper is due, so I won't be picking it up until a few days later.
Well I pre-ordered mine and its been posted today, so I'm hoping it'll get here like a day early or something :omghey:

I already have it but I think I may post here because I will buy the german version so I have both it and the japanese version. And I will buy it on the release day.

Pre-ordered and walking into the store. Basically I'll stop by GAME on my lunch break at work, since it's in walking distance. Means I don't need to worry about the posty not getting to the flat and I am still assured of a copy. Yay.
Hopefully, I can preorder it by the time the game comes out. Depends on the contents of my wallet really... However, most of my funds now are going to the party on Saturday...
Also, I cry whenever I see an ad on TV because my Xbox is dead so I don't have an Xbox to play on!!! ><

Personally I don't find linearity to be a hindrance. I suppose the more open a game's world is, the more replay value it has, but hey I played FFX at least thirteen times.
Ill most likely be picking up the standard edition this Tuesday. I'm not sure how Ill feel about the game but its Final Fantasy and I feel almost obligated to buy it as soon as possible. Secretly I'm more looking forward to Yakuza 3.
I'm contemplating. On one hand, it does look really cool. On the other hand, I enjoyed the side-quests and mini-games, especially when they weren't glorified monster hunts. And God of War 3 is coming out. And I still haven't gotten Unchartered 2. Or Assassin's Creed 2. Or Bioshock 2. And although in theory I could go out and buy them all (albeit sacrificing some basic goods like alcohol), it would be a waste of money because I have work to do, so cannot just have a 2/3 week session of ploughing through them all. And I still haven't finished Little Big Planet. So yeah, I don't know yet. But I will get it at some stage this year.
this is the first ff game I have preordered since ff6 (as ff3 on snes). but that is mostly because I didn't own a ps1 until after ff9 came out, and never owned a ps2.
I don't own a PS3 or an X-Box 360 either...
I have a relative who owns a PS3 but since he and I don't like each other I won't be asking to borrow his...
So I'll postpone buying the game for a while.:|

Much as I wanna get it on the release, I'm stuck waiting for two days. Mine's coming from Amazon two days after the release.
I'll be getting it on the release, though I may not be able to play it much until May.

No, it means I have bought it one hour ago. In one of the great stores where I live I can always buy the new released things the afternoon/evening before they release because they are already displayed so people can rush into the store in the morning of the release date and buy it without waiting.Quote:

I got a call while at work, the store where I pre-ordered it was asking if I was gonna pick-up my copy at midnight. Anyone here can guess my answer, though since I was downtown already and finished work (I work in a pub) early, I had a few drinks. Alcohol and new games, not such a great idea...

I made the call this morning to put off going to class until after I had bought the game. Unfortunately, both the video game shop and the class opened/started at 9, so I ended up being quite late (my university is not friendly on the feet; it can take half an hour to get from one end to the campus to the other in mass-traffic situations).
I'm not going to play yet though. I have a major group presentation to do tomorrow and then a rather full-on week following that and an essay worth 40% due at the end of that.
Well I won't be playing it because Daniel will probably not put down the controller for a while unless it's to go to the bathroom and even then...

Mine just arrived in El Paso this morning, four minutes before eight (MST), and is supposedly in transit to my house! It'll definitely be there by the time I get home, if not a little while afterwards.
After I get some homework out of the way, that game WILL be played!

My brother-in-law should be getting it in the mail anytime about now. So after he's done I'll be in his room...playing this game whilst he and his girlfriend do whatever. Will they care? Nah. Will I care? Nah. But I've just too much work for my classes right now to invest 100+ hours into this just yet.
