The constant weird noises are a little off-putting, but other than that I like it.
Hated it completely. Lightning, Vanille and Fang were my 3 characters I played the rest of the game with, but that was because I needed a healer and Hope's HP was a bit too low (constantly dying). But yeah Vanille had a whiny voice and that aussie-brit accent wasn't helping either.
Stop being so shallow. Think about her feelings, it's not like she chose that voice herself.
I personally loved her voice, suited her character down to the ground.
It was bearable until she decided the thought of fighting monsters became incredibly sexually pleasurable. I mean, did you see her with her summon-thing? I don't want to know what was going on there.
Fighting monsters gets me all hot and bothered too.
For the most part I think everyone just confuses the sound of tickling a child with a grown woman having an orgasm when it comes to the complaints, but that summoning was definitely a little too sexual :|
Her voice is attractive.
Haha. I hate her voice also. But she's cute and she's funny when she's walking or running.
Defo the most annoying voice in the game, but I reckon if some of the older ff games had voices, they'd be just as annoying (Eiko, Relm, Selphie etc.). All of the other main characters (save for Hope) had cool voices. Especially Fang.
She makes everything sound so hard. I think in majority of games they have this weird problem of putting annoying sounds to play in a loop. I wouldn't have minded if she mumbled something every once in a while. BUT DO YOU REALLY HAVE TO SAY HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG, THIIHIHIHIH or HIYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA on every frickin move or spell you make...
I like it. Funny, her VA is actually Australian yet Fang's (who's Canadian) is more consistent.
Try living with a couple of Aussie convicts, its funny but vanille's accent is actually VERY Australian. Fang whose VA as laddy pointed out is Canadian is supposed to have the same accent sounds slightly more south african at times. Still it makes a refreshing change to the norm of American and British accents
I didn't hate her accent. I hated the actual sound of her voice. She was the Tidus of FF13 to me. I really hate when characters sound like cartoons though.
I explained it to a friend as 'an Australian who's received voice coaching from an Asian VA." Sometimes you really hear the Australian in her voice, but it's ruined by all those weird giggles and stuff. Fang sounded genuine.
Lance Bass IS Sephiroth.
And he is pretty talented with his voice, don't you think? xD
I'll take her little cute noises over Fang's horribly delivered and whiny "uhhhhh" in battle. I dunno what happened there since the voice-actress is pretty solid most of the time but that one particular Attack grunt is just really starting to grate on me.
What I find weird is that so many straight guys here are put off by the sound that they themselves refer to as sexual. I mean, I don't know about you, but I don't mind a cute girl making sexual noises while I play my video games. Having said all that, I just found it amusing more than anything. As for her voice when she talks normally, I have no problem with it. It's neither here nor there for me. I can't think of any voices that stood out to me in that game as particularly awesome... Snow probably has the best voice of the lot.
Her primary words: "uh" "ah" oh" "unf" "mrmhnn"
I'm so not in to the bubbly character voice thing anymore. I tolerated it with Rikku, but now it's just like nah I'd rather have a more mature sounding female voice like Fang's or Lighting's.
I like her voice! Australian accents are really nice! And she's really pretty ;)
To be fair, she's putting her all into it. Ever listened to girls playing top-level tennis? Some of them are similar.
Her accent is annoying, as are all Australian accents.
Oh man, really? Can't people find porn these days?
She should sing in a band called Manille Vanille.
