Gonna have to give this one to the original. I like X-2, but I like the original a whole lot more.

out of the 9 i have completed. 1 is my least favourite. however i played a bit of X-2 and it was pretty good. really tough choice for me but.....uh... i... choose FF1. though FFx-2 is pretty good too. ( heh they both use job systems-ish)

Final Fantasy may have been where it all started but I barely played it. X-2 on the other hand I completed and I actually enjoyed playing through it. That's not to say that I didn't cringe at certain parts of the game xD But it's fun to play and the battles are fast and fluid. The story might have ruined the ending for X but with it enabled a half decent story to come out of it, and I enjoyed finding out about Shuyin and Lenne. Talking of them, the 1000 Words cutscene is probably one of my favourite cutscenes in a Final Fantasy game.

Do you intend to make a new thread for every poll by design? There are ways to change the poll in a thread to give the discussions more flow and not flood this forum with a bunch of four post poll threads, but it requires moderation powers in this forum. It's a matter of preference.
Anyway, I knew X-2 would win because X is popular and people have finally realized it has the best battle system of any FF, but the story, characters, and setting were really grating and I'm old school at heart, so I threw the original some love.

Well that, and X-2 has aged very well within the fandom. It has a fantastic battle system.
FFI, I never really agreed with most fans that X-2 had the best battle system since it still had a few annoying quirks that undermines it for my taste. I never could stomach X-2 to play it more than once, whereas I find something new to like about FFI each time I play through it.
FFI. Anything that is attached to X is horrible.
FFX-2 is pretty awesome and I'm glad more people have started recognizing that since the HD release.

This was really tough. Ultimately had to go with FFI, though. Cause I love me some old-school RPGs.
Oh man, FFX-2 is being caught up on quickly...
oh now theres 3 groups of light warriors... well i think were safe against chaos's legion. though chaos's most elite unit is the Gullwings Special Forces and is said to be the toughest opponent for the light warriors. today the Light warriors are outnumbered by 2 but tommorow we will Fight! ( there is no tomorow)

This is quite an interesting poll from an historical perspective:
On the one hand we have a game which was made as a last resort of sorts, the Final Fantasy, of a struggling company.
On the other hand we have a game which was made as a cash grab of sorts due to how this same company found itself in financial trouble after the failure of the movie The Spirits Within.

FF1 and well...it is a tie now! I'm actually surprised that X-2 has gotten so many votes. I did like some things about it but quite frankly, I sure hope that after X-2 and the XIII saga SE keeps Toriyama as far away from the FF director's chair as possible.

I'm actually surprised FFI is doing well. It's not a secret most of the forum is in love with X-2's battle system, so I figured the gameplay would let it win pretty easy.
