Hey there, EoFFers! Summer months are upon us (inb4 Southern Hemisphere, tho) and what better way to cool things down than heat things up?

That's right, it's time to decide who is, in fact, the hottest Final Fantasy character of all time!



A Character Tournament? I cannot contain my excitement, tell me more!

But which characters will be included in this? There are literally millions of characters to choose from!

That's where I need your input, friends! Please send in PM your choice of four characters from each Final Fantasy*. Use whatever criteria you like! You love you some Daddy Cid (whichever one you like best of them, I guess), go ahead! You really want to let the world know you want to bang Stay Away from the Summoner Lady? That's okay too! Have a thing for hunky villains? Or you can be really vanilla and vote for Aeris or something, but that's like, your choice too, I guess!

*due to the nature of this contest, characters under the age of 16 will not be accepted

The 32 characters with the most nominations will be randomly seeded and go head-to-head to figure out who deserves the crown of Hottest Final Fantasy Character.

Nomination Closes Friday, July 13th 6:00 EST.

Yes, four from each game entry. Obviously you don’t have to cap 4, nor do you have to do every game in the series.

Main entry games (including FFX-2 and FFXIII-2) and also Tactics.

Since Friday, when I closed the nominations, seeded the tournament, and opened the first competition poll, I have been so incredibly excited to bring you one of today's polls. It's taken all I have not to tell every person about it, because it's so special.

For the record, I want to say--I did not manipulate nominations, nor did I cheat with the tallies. This is what YOU wanted. This is what THE PEOPLE asked for. And I was only too happy to listen.

I never could've expected what would occur next, however. As I said before, I randomly seeded the tournament. Again; I did not cheat or manipulate the outcome. But it happened. RNGesus looked down upon me and smiled. He reached his hand out, saying, "My faithful daughter, I have seen your ever strengthening commitment to memes and it is good. It is now time for you to reap the fruits of your troutposting labor," before handing me today's pair up.

Today is a beautiful day, and all is well in my soul.

Beatrix put out Quistis. All is right in the world.

Gutted I missed some of the earlier rounds but happy to have forced not one but two polls into a 7-7 deadlock.

Chocolina is genuinely one of the cringiest things Square-Enix has ever done. And they are so smurfing proud of her. Don't fight it.

I adore Chocolina. Her voice and accent are completely out of sync with her appearance but I've learned to embrace this and just roll with it. She's just a load of fun.
