For me, this is the end of a long dream. It feels so strange having this break out while I am so secluded away from society right now. It almost feels anticlimactic, but almost all endings in real life are.
Nice thing to know, it was, after all, a rather large mystery. I wonder how this revelation will effect the public.
Probably not by much. The only really remarkable thing about this was that he managed to keep his identity secret for so long. Now his identity is know, he's just another guy who leaked damaging information about the government to the press. Which, let's face it, isn't all that uncommon.Quote:

Apparently, his family convinced him to reveal the information before he died, as Woodward and Bernstein had promised to reveal his identity only after his death. This is absolutely fascinating, though.Quote:

not to go off topic, (which i kinda am) but im going to assume alkatraz is a prison, but why would it be cool to escape it? is it like, ultra-maximum security?
What I know about Alcatraz is not a whole lot. But what I do know is this.
It was(is?) an Islandic Maximum security prison. I do recall people always saying. Escape from alcatraz is impossible. Also I don't know how many escapees they had, but I don't think it was all that many.
Anyways the conditions of the island weren't nice if I recall right.
I believe they had thier own generator. The water was extremely rough, making swiming an unlikely feat. At least it was something like that.. or I hope I am thinking of the right prison...
But yeah.. definately High-security.

Yeah it was said to be impossible to escape from. The 3 men? I think it was 3 that did try to escape all are thought to have died trying to swim to shore. Their bodies were never found.
Obviously, you've never seen "The Rock".
He would've gotten away with it too, if it hadn't been for that meddling family.
