When my friend and I used to play coop in Contra, we didn't even know this code, man. We played it like real men. Real, four and six year old men.

We never got past stage three, but the fact remains!

There's a room in a dungeon in Boktai that gives you a Life Fruit if you use that code.

As sepho said, it aint cheating if its programmed in the code! Its a better allocation of your start menu resources. Contra was the only game I really used this on though :greenie:

god yes, I cheated so damn much when playing Doom 1 and 2, but only after finishing them. I loved just running around the final level of Doom 2 for ages, just killing stuff relentlessly.

As for the Konami code, I've never actually used it myself, but then, I guess I'm a freak since I've never been too keen on Konami games. Gunstar Heroes was the first and last platform shooter I've ever loved, which, ironically, is by the core team who made the original Contra games and then left to form Treasure.
