Health points and mana points.
I think of them as hit points and magic points.
I'd say Health Points and Magic Points.
HP == Hit points. MP == Magic Points, but only if that's the only thing they are used for. Mana is MP, but also used for skills, and I rarely use the term "points" after Mana. I've never used Health points for HP, before, either. I guess you do learn something new everyday.
Hit points and magic power, strangely enough.
I always say HP and Mana. No matter what the game is. Even if it's TP or SP or something, it's Mana to me ;)
Hit Points and Magic Points.
HP = Hit Points / MP = Magic Points.
When I see them I just think "HP&MP", but if you ask me what they mean I'd say "Hit points and MP".
That option isn't on there :(!
i'm pretty sure most games that use these short forms tell you what they are individually...but i usually call them hit points and MP...never call MP anything else!
Hit Points and Meat Puppet.
health points and magic points
Health Points/Magic Points.
Hotpants and monkey poo
Health points/Magic points
Hit Points and Magic Power.
From now on MP means Meat Puppet, whenever I see it, thanks for that haha
But normally I think HP = Hit points, and your hit points are equal to your total Health, and MP is your magic points and your magic points are equal to your total mana
IE your Health has 1074 hit points(HP), and your Mana has 265 magic points (MP)
THE JACKEL
I think of them as Hit Points and Magic Points, since those are the correct labels unless explicitly stated otherwise.
hit points and magic points
Health points and mana points. Definitely not magic power, cause that's an entirely different stat.
Depends on the game. Some games use Mana points, others don't.
Hit Points and Magic Points, quite blatantly.
I used to think Horse Power.
But I think it's Health Points. And Mana Points.
I just think HP and MP..... things get complicated when you try to understand what they stand for. And just when you think you have a grasp of the situation... they add in SP and TP...
That aside.... there are a million different things that are abreviated HP... including printers, engine sizes, and the odd death points you return to when incapacitated.....
Hit Points/Magic Points, naturally.
well. I went off of what games I saw them in first.
Namely Pokemon Red (hit Points) and Final Fantasy Legend 2 which I think was ... Mana... im not sure.
I say Hit Points, as it sounds catchy, and Magic Points, as I've never heard them referred as Mana Points in any game I've played.
I use the abbreviations when holding a discussion about RPG's. Though the definitions I would use are Hit Points and Magic Points
Hit Points and Magic Points, otherwise known as "the correct way".
come on people, lets make up our own meanings....HIPs and MIPs
I agree with this; though, I tend to thing of HIT as being the chances of the character being hit, a calculated number derived from condition that would suffer from being hit and the condition of the character. As in, it was thier armor factor persay, that had to be wore down before thier final hit for death.
Hit points just sounds missused if you use it to describe health. It seeming is the ammount of hits they can take before they die. Healthy or no. Condition may affect it, but health is not a proper word either.
I tend to use Condition, Life, Mana, Focus in my games.
I don't conform by using the popular terms for either, which is a way of conforming, and since conforming is so rare these days because nobody wants to conform it indeed leaves me with not conforming by conforming.
Happy Power and Mystic Puppies
GAWD
First when I heard abou HP and MP I didn't even know what that was... for me HP was the health and MP... FF8 didn't have Mp so only when I played FF7 I realized what it was... but now I knwo what they are
i think it's almost to the point where we CAN just call them HP and MP and people don't need to know what you mean cause you said it already
Health points and magic points. Hit just confused me (was more Pokemon than, say, Final Fantasy) and mana never really seemed like a way of measuring.
Exp means experience, which confuses up my maths lessons.
i thought hit points was more D&D
health and mana.
Health and magic.
deinftly mana points the second one, cause as you see on sphere grid, its called Mana sphere. So i beileve its mana!
OW YEH! *DANCES*
heh yep...remember the old spell system in 1 hahaha no MP anyway!
