I think of them as hit points and magic points.
HP = Health Points / MP = Magic Points
HP = Hit Points / MP = Magic Points
HP = Health Points / MP = Mana Points
HP = Hit Points / MP = Mana Points
I just think HP and MP. I never thought of what they stood for.
