Lamb Of God.
But beer is better. ;)
Lamb of God is better, but both are absolutely HORRIBLE.
No. smurfing. Contest.
A bunch of guys in masks banging on their instruments or the new gods of metal? Come on!
Beer is better than all of them!!! BEER!!!
Slipknot is aty excuse for a band.
Lamb of God rocks.
How anyone can go from crazy masks to "Looking at you through the glass" (see lead singer of Slipknot/Stonesour) is waaaaaaaaaay beyond me. So yeah my vote is definetly for Lamb of God who I think are a hell of a lot better than Slipknot.
LOG is an ok band. Slipknot just plain sucks.
And I don't know anyone who considers these two to be the new gods of metal. That thought makes me laugh.
These two are in two different ball parks.
One plays T-ball.
The other plays semi-professional baseball.
*likes Lamb of God*
They're both pretty horrible.
Too many biased opinions here. Music isn't based solely off a guy screaming into a microphone. If their music is so horrible, why don't you pick up a guitar and play like the guitarist? or how about grab some sticks and start hitting a drum like their drummer? This goes for both bands, and they're both good in their own ways. This isn't "do you like rock or do you like britney spears" its Lamb of God Vs Slipknot. I'd say, if you don't like either, don't post. That one post count won't kill you.
As for the topic, I'd go with old school slipknot, although I haven't listened to much metal lately, but I do think LoG is more skilled.
So your telling me that you never heard a song before and thought to yourself "Wow, this is really bad"? Bull.
It doesn't matter if I can play their music or not. Why would I listen to this crap when I can listen to much better bands (and I like screaming bands).
And I never said they were talentless. I just don't like how they sound. There are many other screaming or metal bands that do what they do but 100X better.
You missed my point bud. Most of you are like "Slipknot sucks and LoG sucks." and yet they're actually quite skilled musicians. I wasn't referring to you liking them or not, that itself would be biased, which I claimed most of the people in this thread to be, so why would I do it myself.
You can't possibly say a band is complete trash when they're skilled, if anything, you simply don't like their music, but saying they completely suck is just over the edge, and quite immature, or as I put it before, biased.
To YOU there is better bands, yet to others, the better bands are LOG or slipknot, or both, but you can't force your opinion on them.
While I'm not a fan of the genre, Lamb of God definitely wins the contest.
How can you possibly compare anything up against BEER???? :whoa: :irked: :nonono: :screwy:
Heretic Anthem, Before I Forget, Disasterpiece, Iowa...
Just on those 4 tracks alone I think SlipKnot is a helluva lot better then Lamb of God.
Most people these days hate SlipKnot because it is 'cool' to hate SlipKnot when just 5 or 6 years ago the vast majority of people loved 'em.
And why do so many people make a big deal of them wearing masks anyway? They weren't the first band to do it and for their live shows the masks work brilliantly. They are just awesome live.
Well, judging from all of the music I've heard from Slipknot, and it is a lot, I can play guitar, bass, and drums better. Sure, they may be talented musicians in their own right, but their music definitely doesn't reflect it.
Does my opinion count now?
WTF? Why doesn't this post look anything like your other posts?
I actually like his posts with him talking in 3rd person. :(
Neither, both of them give me huge smurfing headaches.
What bothers me about people liking these bands is that they are not even forming their own tastes truely. They are taking what the media feeds them and saying "Thisrules, best music ever" when they could easily scratch away some dust from the surface and see the sparkles of bands such as Bolt Thrower and Overcast.
The problem is, not with the person liking the band, but the fact that they listen to the band because they don't know anything else and because that is what is popular and therefore easy to listen to.
Music is an artform that demands respect, and simply letting the money hungry radio and music television networks feed you what they want you to hear is a gross disrespect to the artform that music is.
Here's a little hint as to who I voted for:

Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant; "If I live, I will kill you. If I die, you are forgiven." Such is the rule of HONOR.
Actually, Corey Taylor was with Stone Sour before Slipknot was created, at least that is what I've been led to believe by the band bio's I've read.
Slipknot's lyrics are much more poetic in certain songs and Corey Taylor's vocals are really hard to beat for a metal band.
I do believe the technical skill in instrumentation by Lamb of God exceeds Slipknot's. The vocals aren't there, and neither is the lyrical content.
And really, they styles are pretty different. Slipknot is more concerned with interlacing repetitive rifts over melodic backgrounds. Lamb of God just want to rock your face off.
Involving Stone Sour in the conversation would lead to an entirely new element, as they are the better of all three bands, concerning lyrical content, technical skill and vocalization. But all of the bands rock pretty hard.
And Crushed Hope, just because something is delivered to you from an artist who is signed to a major label doesn't mean the quality of that music is any worse. If you want to be honest about it, it is the ultimate goal of all musicians to "sell out" to a major label, make tons of money doing what they love, and achieve world-wide noteriety for it. Your absolutely right to have your own taste in the artforms you take in, but art being what it is makes it difficult and somewhat insulting to judge another's taste based strictly on what you perceive to be good. I only say this because I used to think similarly, and I realize what a meanie butt I was being. However, you're entitled to your opinion. I'd just ask that y'all cut down the quote pyramids a bit, please? You're stretching the tables.
I'm the only one so far that has posted in this thread that chose the beer. :( :mad2:    :weep: :crying: :frust: :rolleyes3
