i was surfing play asia and you never guess what i saw! a japanese PS3 for sale! apparently the PS3 was released on november 11th (remembrance day) and will be released in america on friday! just to confirm these dates and the realease (ive been jerked around by many websites trying to sell me unrealeased consoles) i trotted over to wikipedia and this is what it said

I've heard that Japanese bums were also paid to stand in the queue. That's just wrong. With Sony's actions towards Lik-Sang and the way they've treated us in general, I couldn't give a rat's ass about them anymore. Of course, casual gamers won't know of their arrogance and Sony will likely be triumphant. Nintendo Wii for me anyway.

Does the PS3 play PS2/PSX games? I know it uses blue-ray, but i don't know if it also uses the old disc system.

I also had a think about my GameCube. Never did like it as much as the PS2 - even though I enjoy going it, my game collection has never been that high. I reckon I'd get more out of the PS3 personally.

As far as I'm aware, the PS3 will be able to play both PS1 and PS2 games, although there are a small amount of them that are buggy and not yet compatible - but it's a small percentage.

Wrong again the PS2 had no problems playing PS1 games I never had a problem with any PS1 game on the PS2 and I never heard anyone complaining about problems with PS1 games on the PS2. It was fully backwards compatible from my and many other peoples experience with it.Quote:

I believe the selling price was $1250 as stated by the buy it now and the auction price was simply a precursor to the actual transaction.
