Help Devil Man Make A Forum

Devil Man needs YOUR Help My Good Friends On EoFF :eek:

Very soon he is going to be creating his own Forum. In January it should be complete and he is instantly gonna get at least 400-500 Members because he is gonna PM all his other Friends on all the Other Forums that He Also Uses.

Hopefully they will all come :)

And in this Forum there is gonna be just ONE Moderator.

Devil Man :)

And Devil Man ain't gonna moderate it. :tongue:

He is gonna allow ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING :hyper:

He is gonna allow swear words, abusiveness, harrassing of other members, links to porn sites, flaming, absolutely EVERYTHING he possibly can. It is going to be IMPOSSIBLE to get Banned from Devil Man's Forum :roll:

It's not complete yet, but when it is, it will surely be the Greatest Forum in Internet Universe.

What makes a Good Forum? :)

Sounds like I wont be joining you, not even for caramel chocolates, which I love. It's those sole rules that stand strong here on EOFF that make a forum what it is, making them obsolete is just....idiotic.

In that case, people like a strong, centralized theme.

But at the same time, the theme has to be broad enough that it allows a lot of room for discussion.

For example, this forum has Final Fantasy as a Theme, adn it has lived for years because Final Fantasy is centralized, even moreso that Squaresoft and moreso than Video Games in general (So we're all alike in some way).
The dude from FF Classic started his own forum once, which was solely based on FF1, and not only did it eventually get wiped out, but it wasn't very happening anyway. I mean, once you've discussed Knight vs. Ninja for 5 pages, what else is there to talk about for one 80s nes game?

So...
1. A centralized topic that unites and atteacts forumites.
2. A topic that leaves lots of room for open discussions.

Once you're strong and well populated, you get to throw in cool stuff like EoEo, the RP forum, Introduction Forums (For the leads of Members), and whatever other side topics you can think of that might boost your internet popularity, and then you have a moving and shaking deal.

How about a Square Enix one? One that focuses on FF, KH, Vagrant Story, Dragon Warrior, Front Mission, etc. Also, what's a forum without good ol' RPs? Maybe, we can have some exclusive flash games? And some private talking, u nkow, instead of PMing or IMing... Maybe, a nice mascot would be cool, or two, or nine! Also, make it available for personality quizzes to be made, and have like a weekly story section with weekly updates, also, real cool profiles! AWESOME FORUM!

And to think I was nominated as most likely to lead a rebellion against the staff...

Actually the thing that makes this forum so great is its strict rules. Granted, sometimes the staff overdo things, but it's better to have tons of rules than allowing harrasment and bullying of members like you're proposing Devil Man.

I don't get why random Eoff members make new forums when it's nearly impossible to improve any more on this one.

How about a rule like no racist, sexist, or anything that insults someone's faith, race, gender, language, etc. Also, maybe a rule against someone asking someone to commit a crime in any place of the world.

Just because someone is highly depressed and overly emotional, there is no point in even contemplating their "need" to die.

The original point of the thread was to give Devil Man suggestions for his forum. I'm trying to prove the fact that no rules will mean endless flaming, and flaming is not condusive to a great forum like Eoff.

I've been to a forum with constant flaming, and I can say that being argued with and flamed at whenever you express an opinion or state common sense becomes incerdibly annoying. Refusing to allow a certain type of person in a forum already goes to show how rude people will be on there.

Of course, I doubt my comments will make Devil Man reconsider things, so at this point I have no further comments on ruleless threads.

Well, to you their may not be a point, but I see one. But that is an argument neither here nor there.

And a rule-less forum can only breed quick wit and greater capacity for orating. Sure, there may be the ignorant flaming of simple name calling, but no one pays attention to them anyway. The true flaming comes in the form of a battle of wits between two or more parties.

Iron sharpens iron, in the same way that guys rag on each other on a near constant basis and keep each other on their toes, a rule less forum will breed quicker witted people.

And who says EoFF is great?

What makes a good forum? It needs some rules but yet it doesn't need to be too strict, and it needs to have a lot of activity, good posts and people to keep me interested. :jess:
