I love the guns on this. And I love the whole upgrading lark. It's great.

I origionally used a Griffin/Long Barrel combo with Fire materia and scope. But that was because I was chucking whatever I could on just for the hell of it. Unfortunately, I realised that the Griffin isn't all that great a bit too late, because I'd already blown about 20-25k upgrading it. Now I use:

It works pretty well. I got rid of the Griffin because I won't use it often.

I used:
*Powered Hydra (it can be used whether in short range or in long range)
*Long Barrel
*Blizzard Materia (ready equiped to get rid soldiers with barrier or big boss or something like that)
*Auto reloader (Err, you know, the ammo of this hydra is pretty suck. Only 5 ammo in P hydra, 3 ammo in P hydra Gamma, and 1 ammo in Gigant Hydra--And I want to customized it into Gigant Hydra(I have doubt on this one because of its speed only 1!!!) or P Hydra Gamma)

im in love with Griffon- long barrel too...though i ran out of shots, and couldnt remember how to change gun, and i died...
then i found the fire materia button, haha, then i kicked ass!!
i cant stand hydra though, i dont like shotguns...too slow...
and short barrels because they look uglyly stupid...its all in the look (for me)

I loved that really heavy one and with the gravity booster attached made it even better.

Then I usually switch make and forth between that and the best Cerberus.

I use them all pretty equally. The cerberus is my personal favorite because it's so powerful. The machine gun is good for sticky situations. The hydra packs that extra oomf. It's been awhile so I can't remember my exact customs. The sniper rifle was a favorite of mine mainly because I could find my target in the sights so fast. I dunno if it was easy for everyone.
