Don't listen to sillies, and just look up a guide on how to realign the laser pickup lens. That's usually what's wrong with PS2s that break. It's not hard, you just need to be careful. And besides, you've got nothing to lose, except the little time it would take you to try doing it. It can't get worse than not working, right?
