Sandwiches!
After the Carbonated Beverage thread, I thought this one might be an interesting topic... What do you call elongated sandwiches? I call them subs =o
A few of the names I know of are...
Sub/Submarine Sandwich
Sinker
Hoagie
Grinder
Torpedo
Hero Sandwich
Wikipedia also says that the following are also names for them, but I've never actually heard them used:
Cosmo
Poor Boy
Spuckie
Zep/Zeppelin
So, what do you call them?

Personally I call mine sammiches.
But Hero Sandwich looked like an awesome option.

I call the long ones subs. I'm all for sammiches if they're on regular bread, though.
Depends on the sandwich... but usually I call it a "sandwich" or a "sub" which really depends on the bread being used.
The Sandwich was named after the 4th Earl of Sandwich.

This is silly. My sandwiches are called sandwiches. So I'll tell you my favourite kind of sandwiches instead: SUBS! Sweet Mercy they are delicious.
