You stated that 3>2. That's math. My science teachers always said, "Math is the language of science." There you go, science boy.
Something spanning two days could technically be longer than something spanning three days. Suppose a marathon started on TV at 12:00 AM on Saturday and goes on until 11:55 PM on Sunday (They said two days straight, but didn't calculate commercials D=). Over two days that's just about 48 hours of your favorite show.
On the other hand, suppose you started watching an entire series of long movies in one sitting with a bunch of friends. You start at 11:00 PM on Tuesday (you have the week off of work/school/whatever), and just finish the last movie at 1:00 AM on Thursday. Over the three-day span (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) you got 26 hours worth of movies in.
It all depends on the starting and ending points. In the two cases described above, 2>3. Do I win the battle of the brains for my great scientific achievement there?
