Best Member. That special Ciddie that sends all the newbies hearts aflutter with delusions that they shall win it. It's obvious as to why they would want to win this also. As history has shown, the member who wins this is treated with the utmost respect and revered as a great member of the community. Of course, before we can go on to who may win this tonight, we must talk about who has won it in the past. To not do so would anger the forum gods, and then terrible things would happen. Yams may even have to do something with his admin powers, it would be that crazy.

Since this is both the final announced award, the biggest award, and the most coveted, the past winners of this Ciddie were kind of big deals. Cid, Acmlm, Nino Brown, and Scottie all took this award way back when these were known as The EoFF Awards, which is really to far back to care about at this point. Then came the first official Ciddies. The crowd watched in wonder as Dr Unne took the first Ciddie for Best Member, then began to get bored when he won it four more times. Finally, in December of 2003 the good doctor fell back to 5th place, with Loony BoB taking his first win. The following Ciddies he lost it to Del Murder, before coming back and taking it in the next four Ciddies, tying BoB with Dr Unne, only without the streak. One year ago some people everyone watched eagerly to BoB would join Unne on a five win streak and overcome him in total takes of it, but many were shocked when Christmas took the Best Member prize instead. Last Ciddies the nominations were a bit of a surprise, with only Levian and Psychotic representing the staff, and while both put up good fights Christmas grabbed the Ciddie again. This year we see a fairly even split (five staff and four members), and with Christmas not up there are plenty of chances for mix-ups here. Will BoB come back and finally overtake Unne in the number of Best Member Ciddies, or will someone else rise up and take it from him? Before we get to the actual award (and to buy AG some down time while you read the rest of this), here’s some info regard your nominees, courtesy of the always charming Psychotic.

I remember when foa joined EoFF. I thought she seemed cool and sent her an AIM message, and my opinion of her was not dampened by her pale green font on a black background. Then, in the ultimate heresy, she sides with BoB in the elections, with his precious Newbie Party. And you know, she wins. Although at the time, BoB called her a he. Such humble beginnings. Now she's developed into a cuddly Cid's Knight...until you cross her, and then she isn't afraid to speak her mind.

Goldenboko

I like Goldenboko. I do. He's just so young, raw, and innocent. He's the future of Eyes on FF, and he's everything good about it. You might find him annoying; don't. He just really likes this place and wants to have a lot of fun. If that's so wrong, then I don't want to be right. Recently he's got together with Leen-Leen - bloody took you long enough, man - and they are just *so adorable* (I know I said this in Cutest Couple but it's so true!) To end, I think you might see him with a Cid's Knight title under his name in five years time.

I remember when he joined EoFF originally as Recirculatory System, because some other FF forum he frequented had collapsed. Actually I just checked. The account is still bloody there. I thought it had been merged! Get to it! And he hooked up with us BAoTWers, for a low low fee of...well I don't know but he seemed impressed at the time. Then, nothing. He was gone. Then he came back with this sucker of an account. At the time he was making really strange and confusing posts, like he wanted to, horror of horrors, mess with the good people of EoFF! Now I think he's dropped that - to a degree! - and is posting as himself, and evidently we like him for who he is because of this nomination.

Levian

I used up my Monica anecdote on last year's Highwind so I'm kind of screwed for this one. Nobody on Staff is likely to forgive him for leaving us anytime soon, because he was undoubtedly one of the best we had, and was definitely well liked by the people of EoFF. He was, of course, Award Guy in the last Ciddies, and gave it his all and gave us a spectacular show. And since then he has brought the game of Mafia to EoFF, which we've all had such good times with. (Well, I have) It seems old Levian will be toning down his EoFF appearances for the immediate future, and it's a damn shame.

Where did it all go right? BoB left us in the first half of this year. That buxom female Miss Danielle had taken his attentions, and I guess he thought he was no longer needed at EoFF. Stopped posting stats, in fact barely posted at all, and left his precious Ciddies into the hands of Levian. EoFF, you thought BoB was dead? Ha. Ha ha ha ha. You should know him better than that. Has returned, and has returned with an almighty bang. Responsible for the hugely successful Best Movie in the Universe Thread and Picture Thread of Love, he also happened to put an ungodly amount of work into a little contest called the Ciddies. You may have heard of it. Oh, and apparently he does some stuff for the forums, frontsite and chat but I dunno, it's just a rumour.

I am never going to win this Ciddie. I'm not. That's not false modesty, that's just the way it is. But guys, I don't care. I love my EoFF, and I love my EoFFers. You're some of the best damn people I've ever encountered. I've known so many of you over the years, and some of you have now left EoFF. Some of you return from time-to-time. Some of you I may have only spoken to once or twice. Doesn't matter. I want you all to know that I appreciate every one of you, and I remember you. Trust me, I have a disturbing memory! Ask Lev! And even if I do like to insult the holy hell out of you at all times of the day. It's just my way of showing love, okay! Jerks. Also could you please double post more? I'm itching to do some post merging and haven't done any in a while.

Ah, sweet little RikkuYuna89. The things I could tell them about you! You'd scream "STOP! STOP!". You're not RikkuYuna89 anymore, are you? You're one of the few people on this site who has been with me from the beginning of my crazed EoFF journey, and you've been my friend for so long, and I've seen you grow from Little Miss ^.^ into what you are today. I'm not going to comment on the Rye that everyone knows, with the perverted comments and suchforth. They all know her. I don't know if they all know the extremely kind and generous girl who you are underneath that. If I ever needed a banner, and god knows I've needed 10,000 over the years, you've been there. On any LJ entry where somebody is feeling down or ill, you always, always, ask how they are, and you're there to listen to them. That's the Rye I know, EoFF. She's a total sweetheart, and I mean it. Some of you may remember the Satanic Hellspawn that went by the name "The Party". We raped them. My god we raped them hard. But that's not what I'm getting at here. The whole point of that wasn't to win. It was to have one hell of a good time. I handpicked a whole bunch of EoFFers. I didn't ask any huge names. I went with the people who would be the most fun. And I think that, "the most fun", sums up Mr. Hartman. He's a laugh. He's bright. He's witty. He doesn't know how he got nominated for this. Maybe, just maybe, everyone else is slowly catching on to the fact that you're a decent bloke, old bean. Oh, and by the way, settle this once and for all: Are you Old Manus's second account? :goofy:

I feel that every time mr. hero is deployed to Iraq (even if certain former Cid's Knights have doubts that he is actually in Iraq!) EoFF collectively holds its breath, hoping for his safe return. I know I am one of them. hero loves EoFF. Absolutely loves the place...although he does call it EOFF instead of EoFF, for which he earns my undying hatred! He's given so much to this bloody website over the years, and he was finally rewarded with a blue title in the most recent round of knightings. TOOK YOU OTHER STAFF IDIOTS LONG ENOUGH. hero's the kind of guy you know who will be at EoFF for many years to come, and I think his presence here will make those years so much more awesome.
