Big Trouble in Little China is absolutely brilliant. You know what ol' Jack Burton always says...

I have trouble picking ten, never mind five, so let's do with this quick and as painlessly as possible. So, in no particular order:

    1. Empire Strikes Back
    2. Raiders of the Lost Ark
    3. Life of Brian
    4. Airplane!
    5. Downfall (Der Untergang)

The last one was particularly difficult as I wanted to put one of the three WWII films I really like (other two being Schindler's List and The Pianist), but went for Downfall just to be different. Honourable mentions so I can cheat and mention them anyway: Big Trouble in Little China, Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, A Fish Called Wanda, Last Crusade, Godfather, Planes, Trains and Automobiles and Dr. Strangelove.
Not my words Carol, the words of Top Gear magazine.

    Definitely would include the following...

    1. The Emperor's New Groove
    2. The Shawshank Redemption

...after that I need to think a lot harder. Hmm. Okay, I'd probably go with...

    3. Forrest Gump
    4. Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain (aka Amelie)
    5. Snatch

    Reasons...
    1. The funniest, most re-watchable movie I've seen in my life. Fantastic. I love it.
    2. General brilliance. I can't really pinpoint whether it's the story, the twists, the acting, the characters, the script... it's just superb. The best serious movie ever.
    3. This movie has everything. Really. And despite having everything, it doesn't seem like a mess. It just seems like some guy's story.
    4. Despite being a film you would think is a chick flick, it's really enjoyable. There's just something about it which I love. I honestly don't know exactly what it is. Just the style, I suppose.
    5. It was tough to pick the 5th (and the 4th, really) but I'm going with this one because I really enjoy these kind of movies that mix a lot of small stories into one big one. This is probably the best of these kind of films.

Memento, Demolition Man, the Bourne Ultimatum, Crash, 12 Angry Men, Jurassic Park, The Godfather, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Rear Window, Goodfellas, City of God, The Usual Suspects, Fight Club, Hotel Rwanda, Sin City and others all got some thought but (obviously) missed out.
    Bow before the mighty Javoo!

I hope Lonely BooB puts this into some kind of graph or chart.
