I'm extremely amused - she's taken the most obnoxious, repugnant pop trash song of its year, and re-styled it as a beautiful ballad. While preserving the dumb-ass lyrics in all their retarded glory. It's fantastic.

I also agree that Placebo did a very good cover of Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill". It's still not as good as the original, though.

Also, Jeff Buckley's version of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" is quite possibly the best cover song EVAR!
