My wife and I completed our first century bike ride(100+ miles in one day) this weekend at the Hotter N' Hell 100 and it was hotter than hell. When we crossed the finish line that afternoon they said the high was 100. The worst part was about a half mile from the finish of this 100+ mile bike ride I flatted!After we finished and we're walking to the car the adhesive on the tape that holds the plastic shell of my helmet to the foam core melted from the heat and my helmet literally fell apart! Then we got back to the car and were welcomed by the banana that my wife didn't eat for breakfast and left in the car. Apparently bananas don't like heat and it had turned black over the course of the day. Yummy!
But yeah, it was an awesome experience.
EDIT: Doh, posting the pictures here fried my wife's hosting bandwidth since she never posts her images on traffic heavy sights. Of course, now they don't show up where she posted them either. Oops... I'll upload them to my own hosting later.
