dressing of salad
I am sitting here eating a salad smothered in French dressing. It is so delicious.
What is your favorite salad dressing / topping? How much do you use?
French dressing is the end all and be all. Depending on what kind of dressing I'm using, the amount varies. If it's really runny I only use a little, but if it's thick like ranch then I use a moderate amount.

I used to love ranch, bleu cheese and other creamy types. In recent time though, I've come to favor the vinegar/oil based dressings more.
Butter lettuce with julienne of apple, bleu cheese, candied pecans and walnut oil vinaigrette.
Areohgoshgsohg, soooo good.
Or:
Hearts of romaine salad with crumbled gorgonzola cheese, dried cranberries, honey-roasted pecans and a creamy basil-garlic dressing.
Candied pecan is the BEST topping you can ever put on a salad. Any salad. All salads. Every salad. These two salads are the best salads I've ever had. And unfortunately, it's not easy to find or make walnut oil vinaigrette or basil-garlic dressing.
For everyday salads, I like cesar dressing or thousand island.
Mayonnaise, or balsamic vinegar.
All of them except ranch are disgusting.

I put ranch on more things than just salad. Try dipping pizza or hot wings in it! Mmm.
Same here. I always ate ranch hesitantly because it seemed so... I dunno, like, I might as well be slathering the salad in ketchup. But I've really come to enjoy Italian lately. It's pretty great.Originally Posted by Flying Mullet

I normally take ranch, but I'll occasionally mix it up with any kind of vinaigrette or Italian.

I can't decide between caesar, mayo, thousand island, honey mustard, ranch, tartare or any vinaigrette. I love all condiments.
