Why do you think Lucas Arts won't hurry up and release KOTOR III? I think it's because Lucas Arts doesn't know where to take the story from here. They don't know whether they should let the player control the Exile again or if they should create a new main character all together.
Personally I think the player should control the Exile again because then KOTOR III would have some continuity.
I'm fairly certain it's almost entirely because Bioware is working on a KotOR-inspired MMORPG.

Hey John, you do realise that FFXI has probably one of the best storylines in the Final Fantasy series, right? And that's an MMO. its just a shame cause i love the KOTOR series, but i refuse to fork out money for MMO's.
I don't like the MMO craze, but I'm ashamed to say that if KOTOR online takes enough cues from WoW, it should be fun to play...and of course I'll buy it!

seriously i just a good enough vid card to play this on friday, i beat it sunday morning i was like WTF!?!?! its over already? maybe the sequel will have missions following the omega squad as well.( from the republic commando books)

To be perfectly honest, I thought KOTOR II did enough to ruin the plot of the original game, but that's what tends to happen when you switch developers for a sequel. KOTOR II was barely part of the original game's continuity, but that's what tends to happen when the first game has two very different endings. A KOTOR MMO has potential, and Bioware is a pretty damn solid developer. I have high hopes for the MMO, although I'll probably never play it.

Anyway, you don't *need* to go multiplayer in MMORPGs. When I used to play them, I often played solo. Whether or not you play well with others is your problem.
I personally don't think I'll get into this. I couldn't finish the original KOTOR, anyway. It was too slow-paced for my tastes.
